Men's haircut

Nick has been cutting my hair for about 10 years. Highly recommend him - does a great men's haircut and is an overall great guy. He has a calm, soothing presence and is super thoughtful, wants to make sure you leave happy. Really nice, cozy and intimate salon. Looking forward to see everything he has at the store for the future. My only regret is that he doesn't have 2 locations!

Nick is very experienced and very good with everyone he styles and cuts from my 7 year old son to my 12 year old daughter and myself included. Always a great experience with him and I highly recommend him.

Through the non-profit "Children with Hair Loss" Du Japon Hair Club was vetted for donations and is the only approved salon in the Los Angeles area. I met Yuki, who owns and operates this salon and also one of the best stylists I've had in my years of barbers. She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I would recommend calling well in advance for your appointment, as she works generally towards the end of the week through the weekend.

Yuki should have warned me that my hair was too fine for this process instead of taking my money to ruin my hair. If she is so experienced and so great she should have known better and know that the process she was doing would ruin my hair. This is my warning to others that are going here to have straightening done. Don't rely on her to tell you it's not right for your hair. To top it off when I called to tell her she did not apologize, she did not act as though she felt bad her response was not caring at all. Not to mention she didn't offer any advice or a refund. Now it will take me years to get my hair healthy and I'm so upset.

Nova Arts Salon is a really cute and vibe-y salon settled on The Row next to the parking garage…read more It's dark and moody with lots of natural light and plants that fill the space. I found Anya on Reddit and came in on a nice Sunday to get a curly cut from her. She was super comfortable doing my hair and talking to me about what I wanted, and even made suggestions that went along with what my endgame was. I essentially told her I wanted to keep my bangs and my face framing little hair tendrils, and she can do what she wanted with the rest! From there, she asked questions such as how heavy my hair feels regularly/the last time I got it cut, if I like my hair to have volume or sit the way it is and mimicked with my hair how both versions looked, made observations and suggestions on where we could go. Honestly, this was the best experience I've had! She thinned out a lot of my hair as well since it gets pretty heavy for me, gave me a nice shape and my hair more personality, and even layers on the back to make everything more cohesive! Frankie was my wash tech (is that what they're called?) and she was great to talk to about books! She was also very cautious on making sure the water was just right for my scalp. Though when we rinsed with cold water it hit soooo good hehe.

I was in hawaii for some time and my hair was grown out from moving and just didn't find the right stylist. She brought me BACK. To a beautiful, very bright/light blonde! And my hair feels very healthy as well! She was so attentive, meticulous and so fun too talk with as well. I didn't realize or forgot they have parking in front and they will even run out to pay your meter for you if needed. I just parked in the neighborhood nearby. Salon vibes are so chill and inviting. Coffee and water provided too. A no pressure vibe which I loved. No product pushing, no pressure whatsoever when describing what you are trying to get. Sometimes I'm anxious with the salon because it's a lot when it comes to finding the right blonde or just awkward conversation. Not here! She works with you so well and you immediately feel comfortable walking into the salon and through the entire interaction. And just comfortable, fun environment while you're there! Fun conversation, every one was so incredibly nice. I also can't sit still for long- severe back problems and adhd so it was nice I could get up and move as needed. Slightly pricey but expected with the work she provided for myself.

Stop comparing and evaluating colorists/salons and just pull the trigger with Blonde Blond. 3 big…read morethings: 1) Atmosphere These are not sales people. This is not a high pressure sales environment. Obviously suggestions, opinions communicated etc...but the objective was not to sell me something or turn the chair over for the next client. No product pushing. No service pushing. No agenda pushing. Full stop. 2) Skill I've always thought of Blonding as a language; I now believe Caitlin wrote that language. She is 100% the doctor and the surgeon. I got exactly what | asked for. Read that again: EXACTLY what I asked for. Having experienced the accuracy of an exclusively blonde colorist, I cannot overstate that value. 3) Communication It's possible your colorist may have to interpret what you're asking for. It's possible this takes time. Cait spent time with me. She encouraged me to say more and made me feel comfortable (read: not-stupid) as I probably talked out of both sides of my mouth and stumbled through my wants, needs, pictures, let-downs, etc. Look, I don't care who's hair you've colored, or "red carpet" this, "social media following" that blah blee blah. All of your skill and knowledge and experience is lost on me if: I'm intimidated You have one eye on the clock for our entire consult You're annoyed with my inability to articulate Couple the thorough communication with the technical capability and B/B is in a whole other league, entirely. Caitlin, you should be really proud of this business. Ok. SO: I hesitate to comment on/share price and service-time because every blonde really is unique BUT since that's probably the info you're looking for, I'll say this: Re price: Not inexpensive ALTHOUGH more than fair (even before you consider comps at other salons) Re time: It takes as long as it takes. Dunno what else to say about that one. Its bleach, people. Maybe don't rush it? TL;DR? Um, "best". You get what you pay for. Proceed with confidence (and enthusiasm!) srsly though? Go back and read it, it's not that long.
