This place is all hype. I recently moved to LA and was looking for a reasonably priced salon that actually delivers quality--but this was a huge disappointment. The haircut took maybe 5-10 minutes, and it felt rushed and careless, like they were just chopping away without any attention to detail. It seemed more focused on appearance than actual skill. I was honestly shocked at how bad it turned out, and by the next day, my hair looked even worse. A good haircut should complement your face and still look decent even after you've slept on it. This didn't come close. Thankfully, I've since found a salon that takes the time to do precise, detailed cuts that grow out well and still look good even after a couple of months. Best Korean Salon ever Called the place on the day to book a haircut. The lady mentioned I could come in at the time I requested, which I was happy about because I was desperate for a good haircut. When I arrived with my friend, the staff member Helen (an awesome person) helped me from the reception to washing my hair. Other staff also tend to my friend to a better waiting area. Afterwards, another staff member helped me blow-dry my hair. Then Mr. Caleb cut my hair . I was satisfied with my haircut and received many compliments. The salon itself is spacious and well-designed, but the overall experience felt a bit impersonal. The main stylist only cut my hair for a few minutes and popped back in briefly at the end to style it -- and even then, ended up redoing what the assistant had already done. Most of the appointment was handled by the assistant. It would've been nice if the lead stylist had checked in more or been involved throughout. Not a terrible experience, but I left feeling like it just didn't live up to the hype. read more

You go in, set your stuff in a locker and get your hair washed and dried to a damp level before they cut your hair. They'll ask you for inspo so have some pictures ready. I loved my experience at Hair Arca! I was welcomed in, given a reserved locker for my clothes and belongings, was sent to the back area to receive a deep cleanse, then I was given an awesome scalp treatment, and head spa treatment with a mist!
