I used to go to another shop they own and took my daughter here regularly. A couple/few times my barber canceled very last minute, which was a major inconvenience, but things happen. THEN, I contracted COVID and was unable to make my appointment. Despite canceling on me for whatever reason, and despite being a regular, they charged me! I'm not arguing that businesses shouldn't have policies to prevent losing money and protect an artist's time and income, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't complain, I didn't make an issue, but what I DID do was never go back AND pull my daughter from this salon. Bad business practices and treating not respecting regular clients' time has consequences... Avoid being treated like a number, plenty of better places right down the street. I have never wrote a negative review on Yelp before, but my experience warranted a response... I got my hair cut for the first time ever at The Establishment, and then left the salon for a color appointment across town (I wasn't able to be seen for a cut and color on the same day at the same place). When I arrived to my second hair appointment, I noticed my hair was uneven, so the stylist at the second location straightened my hair only to find how uneven and completely botched the original hair cut was. Thankfully he agreed to fix it. I have never had such an egregiously bad hair cut in my life. It was completely uneven and several chunks of hair were missed. I called the Establishment for a refund and they refused because "I didn't let them fix the hair cut". I don't know who in there right mind would want to return to a salon who completely botched their haircut, let alone put the the time and inconvenience on the customer to drive back across town to get it fixed. I am floored that they didn't just completely refund me given how bad the cut was (and I had the evidence to prove it). I had to get 2 haircuts in the same day, and cut my hair substantially shorter than I wanted given the second stylist had to fix what the first one did. This is a customer-service job, and I find it absolutely appalling the owners didn't immediately refund me. Let this serve as a warning to potential future customers. I wasted $130 on a botched hair cut. I will NEVER return to the Establishment again. read more
