And, it's something that he can keep growing since he is a metal head. The salon is very nice and is a mix between a hair salon and a spa. I believe there was someone giving massages for a price in the back by the changing rooms. Everything here is top grade. And, you should expect to pay the price for that. I actually think Carla gives a good price, but this is not a Super Cuts cheap joint. It's a place to come if you want to look gooooood. Anyway, I know my son will be back and be a steady customer from now on. I know he is in good hands with Carla. They also have great people to do straightening or dye jobs. A real class act. Now we all know that someone to touch our hair it has to be built on trust. I felt I had finally found my niche, I had came to Lidia I couple times to do cut, color, style. So at this moment I was a loyal client and would go to her in the future. Now some things slipped through the cracks while making my appointment. A couple months back I was ready to make a change and reach out a couple of time via phone and in person and the lack of communication failed. No biggie, I wanted to get my hair done here and nowhere else. Thought third time would be the charm so I stopped in person again and saw the owner Lidia. I mentioned that I was ready for a change and discussed what I wanted, I also asked for her colleague because even tho I had paid for a senior stylist her assistant at the time helped me ol half of the time. Again I did not say anything even after being hosed down during our first session. Decided to let it go. Well I indeed asked if she was available since I knew her as well and knew her prices were slightly different. However I was advised that they were actually the same. They did advise me they had someone knew with lower prices if I were interested. I was happy they were expanding but as I mentioned I was loyal to the person who already doing my hair. I had built a relationship and I was satisfied with the work being done. I requested to be booked with Lidia for my service. Now I know she's not there all the time so we can to coordinate a date where she was here on a weekend. I even requested a quote just so I would have an idea. Done! And received a confirmation. I had to reschedule and booked out for a month later. However the day before my services I received an email and saw a name I did not recognize. So I decided to text and confirm. I was advised that it was not with the owner but with a junior stylist because I had requested someone with lower prices. I was confused because I never asked, I was informed but because I didn't know her I was not comfortable moving forward with her. I then began receiving messages that if I didn't show then I would be charged, oh and the owner was not there so she wouldn't be the one doing my hair. I would however have the person (whom I don't know) do my hair because I "requested them". I tend to be clear, I don't know where the miscommunication came from. I've even received an original email that I was booked with the owner. I requested a call because I know I would never book with someone that I'm not comfortable and now have to be stuck in with. A lot of back and worth which wasn't leading anywhere. Neither of us felt that we were in the wrong, I was told I can book with the owner when she is in but at this moment I felt so uncomfortable and would be so awkward that I'd rather lose business with. I felt there was no accountability taken and I was convinced that I would be charged if I didn't show up with my appointment with someone I did not book.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. I went in trusting that my hair health would be prioritized, and unfortunately I left feeling like the exact opposite happened. My appointment took around 9 hours, and throughout the service I felt my hair was handled extremely aggressively. There were multiple times where my hair was pulled hard, including having my hair grabbed in a fist-like hold and yanked. When my foils were being removed, they were pulled out so aggressively that I could literally see pieces of my hair coming out and using a dry towel to wipe the bleach off (which I understand is needed) but the way she did it so roughly with zero consideration of my hair health and the fact that my hair was in foils for SO long was truly disappointing. This was especially upsetting after hearing so much about the importance of maintaining the health and integrity of my hair. There was also confusion around the service and pricing. I was initially told a full highlight was going to be $675 while I was sitting in the chair she told me that if I wanted a detailed full highlight it would be the price of two full highlights ? Something you definitely need to discuss with a client before you already have foils in, lucky I can afford to pay that bc I didn't want my hair half done. I was given a completely different price than discussed over the phone. I have very fine, thin hair and not a large amount of hair to begin with, so I did not understand why the service resulted in being charged roughly twice as much. The overall atmosphere also felt unprofessional to me. During my appointment, my stylist repeatedly stopped working on my hair to use her phone. At one point, I heard her yelling at her nanny rude things. Personal situations happen, but hearing that during such a long and expensive appointment made me uncomfortable defintley didn't feel like a luxury experience. The most upsetting part was the condition and appearance of my hair afterward. I went in with more length and left with what essentially feels like a bob because of how much hair/length I lost (I completely understand bleaching hair can have breakage etc but as a HAIRSTYLIST myself I watched her treat me hair so harshly in ways I would NEVER do to someone). On top of that, the tone was completely different from what I wanted -- my blonde came out noticeably yellow there were also negative comments made about my previous hairstylist, implying that she didn't know what she was doing with my hair. I found those comments unnecessary and rude, especially considering how unhappy I was with the final result of this appointment between the aggressive handling of my hair, the amount of hair I watched come out, the unexpected pricing, the repeated interruptions, the comments about my previous stylist, the 9-hour appointment, and leaving with much shorter and yellow-toned hair, I unfortunately cannot say I had a positive experience. For the amount of time and money I invested, I expected much better communication, professionalism, care, and results. I had photos taken of the back of my hair and I had so many bleeders and hotspots and was never told about .. so disappointing for the amount of money I paid. Never felt comfortable to reach out because of the way I heard her talk to people. Just hope I can give warning to anyone wanting to come here read more

Beware! Some of these reviews I know are fake because someone that used to work there told me after they quit. This is for people who value their time and money! Anyway I decided to give this place a try. "Almost" at least.... I'm blown away by the experience and the two faced rudeness I received from a couple of the women in this salon. They charge $50 just for a "consultation" for someone to literally just brush your hair and seething how much money they can get away with charging you. This person Vanessa really earned this review, my experience with her was disrespectful and unprofessional to say the least. I'm still in shock... Very thankful I saw a different side of her right before I had the appt. When you show her a photo of what you want she is eager to say yes oh yes I can do this, then she shows you a photo of a style you are not looking for, so you kind of question if she even understand what I'm asking to be done to my hair ...? I don't have confidence in someone who I'm showing a photo to and they said yes but show me a different type of color anyway, she was so sure she could do it she convinced me to book the appt. The day of the appt, I took time off work to come here just for her to cancel last minute, is rude, has a nasty too good for you attitude. In business their is never a good reason to be unprofessional with clients. Also for someone to change the pricing on you last minute is beyond something i haven't experienced yet. Just SO dishonest. I want everyone to proceed with caution and take these "positive" reviews lightly. Unfortunately the fake reviews do happen. Just do your homework. The owner Caitlin is very full of herself and snobby unless you have several hundreds to pour out watch out for a different level of treatment. Plenty of amazing hair salons in la that are affordable and would be grateful to earn your business, think twice before coming to a place like this. So sad, but true! I'm happy to say I will never come here or recommend anyone coming here and I'm sorry for the good people that work here and have to put up with this unnecessary drama. read more

24 hours later and still in awe. Michelle's talent absolutely blows every other salon experience I have had clean out of the water. First: she was SUCH a good communicator. She asked that I message her sample photos of my desired look a day before, and when I arrived at the salon for my appointment, we dedicated a solid 10 minutes to verbally discussing things, so as to guarantee that we were on the exact same page. My knowledge of hair is still fairly limited, and with Herculean patience she explained the spectrum of different procedures and products available. In addition to my dream color job, I got the added benefit of walking out with a massive upgrade to my general understanding of hair. Second: at other salons I have visited in the past, price has always been... vague? Past stylists have been unclear about what services are included and what items incur additional costs. Some have been frustratingly aggressive about selling me fancy shampoos and expensive treatments, to the point that I felt my actual color job was only of secondary priority. I have been mortified on several occasions when my final bill has come out to $100+ more than what I expected. NOT the case here, at all. Michelle was straightforward and upfront about quoting me, and I felt that she was honest in presenting the costs versus benefits of available services. At no point did I feel any of her suggestions were irrelevant to achieving the look I wanted. Third: the actual color is AMAZING. I had darker blonde hair, maybe a tad ashy. She partial-highlighted and balayaged me to an icy quasi-platinum, and was, via Michelle magic, somehow able to keep it natural looking. I have never, ever loved my hair like this, full stop. Caitlin Richardson is a master blonde color specialist and does perfectly placed, natural looking extensions! Her talent is truly unreal. Until I met Caitlin, I honestly thought my hair would just never be the shade of blonde I wanted it to be. Turns out it, my hair wasn't the issue, it was the colorist! Besides all the other terrible colorist I've had work on my hair for years, one guy took it to another level of disaster. Knowing I am super picky about my blonde hair and had always been looking for "the best", someone referred me to a colorist who was supposedly the "best of the best celebrity colorist in Beverly Hills". Not sure who gave him his title but I left his salon with my hair looking like yellow snow!!! After crying for hours, I couldn't stand to look at the yellow snow any longer and googled "best blonde specialist Los Angeles" and there she was! Thank god for Caitlin. She was the only one who was able to not only fix it but continue to make it even more amazing. That was almost 5 years ago and I have never turned back! I recently moved to Dallas and still fly in to Los Angeles to get my hair done. If Caitlin moved to the moon I would just have to invest in Virgin Galactic to get my hair done by her! Couldn't say enough good things about the salon and all the girls working there! I'm from Australia and was really nervous about trying somewhere new BUT these girls were AMAZING!! From the moment I walked in, it was a nice, casual and relaxing vibe. I felt welcomed right from the start. I had Belinda do my hair (it happened to be her first day in the salon!) we discussed what I wanted and I showed her some photos, what I loved most was that she gave me her honest opinion and advice with what she felt would be a good for my hair and what colour/tone would suit my skin and facial features best. We had great conversation and she was really attentive throughout the appointment, she paid such close attention to every detail and was so precise and particular with the colour. The end result of my hair was AMAZING Belinda couldn't have done a better job if she tried. She absolutely nailed the colour I honestly couldn't have been happier! She also styled it so beautifully with gorgeous beach waves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BELINDA!! I also loved the overall vibe in this salon, everyone (clients and stylists) were all chatting and crossing over conversations, it just felt as if you were there hanging out with your mates - it was really lovely! Gigi saved my hair!!!!! I have spent the last 3 months in the sun and ocean. No matter how much I tried to protect my out-grown winter white hair, the ocean fried it! No amount of product seemed to bring the straw back to life. Enter Gigi at Blonde/Blond. Gigi, herself, has gorgeous long honey blonde hair. When I sat in her chair I expected her to tell me we would need to cut most of it off. As that morning, it truly looked beyond repair. However, she did not. She had so much confidence that she could save it! We sat and discussed a better blonde for my olive skin and dark brown eyes. Much more golden multi-tonal shade. She also assured me that she would add protein back into damage. While doing my hair, we chatted. Gigi is beyond hip. She is so cool and plugged into LA. Regaling me with hilarious stories of Night Life and the fabulous eccentricities found in West Hollywood. When the process was finished, I was astonished. Not only did the new color suit my skin so much more than platinum blonde. It looked and felt like healthy hair. Amazing!!!! I will be back to see Gigi because the whole experience was Ace! If you are looking for overpriced fried hair come here for sure. I cannot believe Vanessa has a license to do hair. She is completely incompetent, does not care to listen to direction or your concerns. Is rude and unprofessional. I know that bleach was sitting on my hair way to long while she was yapping away and gossiping about someone else. Just ignored me the whole time in the chair didn't come check on how the hair was lifting. This salon is none deserving of good clients they don't care about anyone just money hungry b"tches that are gossipy behind clients backs. Just sitting in the chair listening to these females talking trash and judging their clients as they walk away is so unimaginable to me. I don't understand how you can operate like this. It's just wrong. I'm pretty sure they judge and gossip about me when I leave. It's just dirty business and no one deserves to be treated like this. I will not be coming here ever again! I just moved to Los Angeles and because of quarantine my roots were horrid and needed desperate attention..I reached out to a few salons after reopening and Caitlin was the only one to promptly answer me and work me in to her busy schedule. And I'll throw in that I'm no instagram model or well known person..just a small town Mississippi girl needing her roots done! Caitlin took me under her wing and was so excited to get her hands on my hair. She literally took every strand into consideration and matched my extensions perfectly. Even though it took 7 hours, Caitlin is super easy to talk to and has a big funny personality. You are guaranteed a good belly laugh and some perfectly blonded hair! I even spilled my coffee on myself on my way to my appointment, and after waddling in she immediately ran to the back and grabbed me some comfy pants to change into. Kyza is awesome. She's warm, fun and knows what she's doing. I was that great sort of new random client who arrives late for ridiculous reasons, and then unsure of exactly what they want, who says that classic 'something different, but not toooo different'. I came to Kyza for my blonde because while I didn't dislike my hair at all, I was ready for a new vibe. Kyza took her time discerning what I was actually after and then talked through the options, future pros/cons and prices, which I appreciated. It did take a little bit to adjust to the new multidimensional tones from where I was before, but she definitely nailed the 'almost platinum but with depth' without completely over-processing my existing blonde. The salon is great. It's a bit rough around the edges in that old east London sort of way, so maybe not the right vibe for all LA types, but it's fun and full of straight-talking professionals. I am so SORRY I went there!!!! I paid more than $100 just for a haircut, and I got the worse haircut and unprofessional customer service EVER in my life!!!! I WATED MY TIME AND MY MONEY!!!! The hairdresser was so rude, negative person, unpleasant, unwelcome and I couldn't feel comfortable at all! She didn't ask me anything about the haircut, she didn't put any product on my hair before and after the haircut, and during the drying (outside was raining) so...when I got back at home my hair was more terrible than before the "Blonde Salon".... Also, I forgot to mention that she was plucking me painfully during the haircut and drying! I WILL NEVER EVER GET BACK THERE!!! I want to forget that horrible experience from "Blonde Salon"!!!! PEOPLE, DON'T GO THERE!!!! WOW is all I can say about this most amazing find for blondes and blondes to be. I spoke directly to the owner on my first call and she was able to get me in the same day for color. I'm a New York to LA blondeaholic and can't believe it's taken me this long to find this new home away from home in Little Ethiopia of all places! Owner and staff are super friendly and accommodating and they all know everything about being blonde while maintaining the integrity of the hair. Michelle did my color and transformed my dull, brassy blonde into the cool, beige, soft shade that I've been craving for so long. I came back 2 days later so that Kyza could do a Cezanne smoothing treatment on my hair. A great alternative to the toxic Brazilian and Keratin straightening treatments of my past. This place is such a gem. I am so happy that I found it and I will not be going anywhere else. My blonde hair has not looked this good since I moved to California a few years ago. Kyza is Amazing. On day one, she did a keratin treatment on my hair that is designed specifically for blondes. My hair was silky smooth and bouncy and I was already in love with my hair again. On my next appointment, she did a color correction and highlights and I immediately looks years younger. She planned every detail to make sure that the base color would match my skin tone and also make my eyes pop. I wish I had found this salon when I first moved here. The entire experience was great. I have been looking for a place for my white platinum blonde hair. I've been doing it myself, and it was just so damaged. I needed help!! I went in and met with Caitlin the owner, and after the consultation she got my 1 inch dark brown new growth bright white to match my hair. She was so funny and welcoming, and put me at ease. I cannot recommend this team enough for blondes. If you are, especially not naturally, you know how hard it is to maintain and keep healthy. Caitlin not only did an amazing job getting me to the exact luminescent white that I wanted, but she also gave me tips and tricks for upkeep in between sessions. After searching forever for the perfect salon for my hair, I finally found the one! I went to this salon and had Danny as my hairstylist. Let me tell you, he's amazing! From the moment I walked in, he made me feel super comfortable and relaxed. He's such a funny guy, and we had a great time chatting and laughing during the 16-hour process. Danny was incredibly detail-oriented and took his time to make sure everything was perfect. I never felt bored or uncomfortable because he kept me entertained the whole time. And the best part? My hair still feels healthy and is the same length as before, even after the bleaching process. As the neon sign out the front suggests...wayward blondes....indeed I am, so much so that my hair appointment was 30th October 2017 and I have just finished a round of USA loving travel, so this is the first chance I have had to do a write up. I must say that this is the blonde bombshell place to be. It's micro foiling at its best. Michelle was so attentive and meticulously outstanding that it was just such an unbelievable experience to be honest. No, I'm pissed. So I wanted to change my hair from black to blonde and run like that forever. I told the stylist this. First my hair is grey like I'm 80 years old fine whatever. I wanted this to be the shop I go to. I was looking for an hair studio to go to. Rather than recommending I buy an particularly set of products to maintain my hair nothing was done. I paid 300 for my hair and I couldn't get a fucking "hey you should buy this and that and oh you gonna need to buy this as well and hopefully we can see you again in about three or two weeks." Maybe the store don't like black people idk. Not pleased with the customer service and the need for repeat business. I might as well go to noho where they sell all the products and recommend which product to buy. read more

Five Stars for Kyza! The knowledge this girl has about blonde hair is crazy! I thought I knew everything about my hair until I met Kyza. I moved to L.A last year and had been dreading getting my hair colored again. So much, that I was flying back to my previous state (Vegas) to get my hair done by my old girl. Did some research on Yelp and figured that I should try Blonde Blond. From the moment I stepped into the Salon, Kyza was so warm! Felt like I had known her for years! Not to mention, she took the time to listen to my hair care journey. She also walked me through things that she noticed and we discussed what would be best. BOY did she NAIL my platinum blonde. Only Caitlin can bring back my natural baby blonde...always matched perfectly with my complexion and the season. My roots are hardly noticeable and my highlights last longer than ever. I've never loved my hair color more. My hair is so healthy since switching to Caitlin 4 years ago and I will not go anywhere else. Getting your hair done is also so fun. Everyone who works at the salon is great. Caitlin treats you like one of her own...she's the most caring, funny, and attentive person. Caitlin even made sure I was taken care of when she was on maternity leave with her stylists Britney and Kyza who are both incredible as well. L.O.V.E. Caitlin I'm usually super busy and never have time to leave reviews, but I am taking the time because I appreciate this place so much. I made my way to Blond Blond after going to 2 other places. Initially, my hair came out very ashy and made me look like I have all grey hair, then I went to another place that did something else to it and I ended up with a bunch of different shades of color in my hair. Then I finally found Caitlin who as it turns out HAS HANDS OF GOLD and does hair magic. I was finally the blond I always wanted to be! I have a lot of very long hair. Many of the strands had previous highlights, some had low lights and some had semi permanent color applied through the past years. But nothing scared Jess, who applied each foil with surgical precision as I mentioned I wanted the highlights as close to the root as possible. She monitored the process constantly, removing each foil when ready, instead of removing them all at once. I had her undivided attention and she provided context and information all the time. My hair is also pretty dry and porous, and the difference afterward is incredible - SO smooth, shiny, sleek, and easy to manage. I also have curly hair and wanted it straight, and even after swimming in the ocean and multiple hair washes, it is still perfectly straight and sleek - with no product and just air drying (didn't even know that was possible!). Yanai cut my hair afterward and did a beautiful job as well. He took off exactly what needed to come off while still keeping the length I wanted. The whole appointment was a long process because of how much hair I have, and I really appreciated how much care and attention they put into getting the result right. The next morning, I received a text asking if I could come in much earlier due to a scheduling change. As a hairstylist myself, I knew exactly what was happening. Someone had canceled, and they were trying to fill a gap in the stylist's schedule. No problem. I rearranged my own day, moved a call, and made it work. What I don't understand is why I was then left waiting for about 20 minutes after I arrived. If you're asking clients to change their schedules to accommodate yours, shouldn't their time be respected too? That immediately put a bad taste in my mouth, especially after learning the reason for the schedule change was a cancellation. I went out of my way to help avoid a gap in the stylist's day, only to end up sitting there waiting anyway. The salon itself is beautiful, and the owner was very nice. However, during the shampoo service, the towels smelled strongly of mildew. Every time one was used, that's all I could smell. As for the haircut, it was fine. Not terrible. Not amazing. Just very mid. For a salon charging well over $200 for a haircut, I expected something that felt a little more special. The weirdest part was checkout. When I went to pay, they told me they weren't charging me because it was "just a trim." I still left a $100 tip, but honestly, it felt less like a complimentary service and more like they knew the experience hadn't gone particularly well. I was also given a candle, which was a nice gesture, but it didn't really change the overall experience. At the end of the day, if you're charging luxury prices, people expect a luxury experience. Between being asked to rearrange my schedule, waiting 20 minutes after doing so, the mildew smelling towels, and a haircut that was ultimately just okay, I don't think the experience matched the price point. Manage your expectations and be prepared to wait, even if the salon asks you to change your appointment time to accommodate them.

Sherri is an absolute magician with hair and I have never left The Fig without being completely and totally satisfied with her work. My hair is naturally an extremely dark shade of brown and she managed to bring me to a gorgeous ashy blonde while maintaining the health and integrity of my hair. She is an utmost professional (super punctual and prepared every time I've gone to her!) and is unbelievably prompt with her communication. She truly goes out of her way to accommodate you--she has come in on her off days and managed to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment more than once--and on top of all this, she just knows hair (cut, color, etc.) so damn well. Almost every time I go in to see her, I have a very vague idea of what I want to do with my hair and every time she goes above and beyond anything I could've hoped for. Basically, there are PLENTY of other salons in the area, but you would be hard pressed to find stylists more talented, professional, and kind than these two amazing women at The Fig Salon.
