Thanks BELLA. She cut my hair perfectly and asked well thought out questions before cutting. We had a really good convo the entire time as the time passed by. Took about 2.5 hours. We used Dyson products and talked about that as well. Overall, it's a pleasure being a model here because of the tight pricing. I love this spot. Thank you once again!

I'm sad to say that for a salon of such stellar reputation I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience here. All said and done, I paid over $900, across three salon visits, totaling 10 hours, to have worse hair than when I walked in :( I booked Lindsay for a haircut and Emily for color, I came in with strawberry blonde hair looking for a bolder red color, with example photos, and specifically asked for absolutely no cool tones. When I was back in the chair and my hair was drying, right away it was far too dark and looked purple. Emily came over and said she was leaving for the day, asked what I thought of the color, and said it would fade up to what we talked about after a few washes. My roots were a noticeably different color and tone than the rest of my hair, and my hair looked duller and damaged but I trusted the process and her expertise. For my haircut, I like Lindsay and had seen her once before. That being said, her next client had already arrived as she got to my chair, and I would estimate she spent a total of 10 minutes on my cut. I have long hair, and I asked for blended, even layers, dead ends removed, and facial framing to blend in my growing out bangs. I had to point out a few spots that didn't look right and she made those adjustments, but after seeing a photo of my hair from behind a few days later I was absolutely floored at how bad the cut looked. Choppy and uneven layers, sparse and unhealthy ends, just bad. I called to come in and have my color fixed by Emily and was told she only had one appointment before leaving for two weeks, so I arranged to leave work early at significant expense to myself, only to sit in a chair for over an hour and 15 minutes because she was running behind. By the time she got to me I had 20 minutes before having to go back to work. She did a quick tone as a temporary fix, and while it did help slightly and I'm grateful for that, the color was still very far off what I asked for and my roots were still different than the rest of my hair. Two weeks later when Emily was back, I came in for the third time, with the same reference photos for color and the photo of my haircut by Lindsay and asked if there was some better way I could be communicating because honestly I was at a loss at how poorly this had gone. Emily agreed to dial in the color, and they'd have someone fix the cut. Emily suggested we do highlights to lighten my roots to match the rest of my hair, and then tone the color all over. The problem is, and in retrospect feels like should have been obvious, is at this point I had three weeks of root growth so all this did was create a halo of bright blonde hair on my roots and did not fix the fact that the top four inches of my hair were a dark magenta while the rest was red. She toned it one more time and that lifted nearly all the color out, making my hair look pink with blonde highlights, which I said, and then it was toned again, basically to the same color I had before ever coming in, but with bright blonde roots, less shine, and still uneven in color and tone. At this point I felt like I was taking crazy pills and didn't want to sit at the sink a fourth time so I was done. Alyssa Wood gave me a haircut to fix what was missed with Lindsay and did an absolutely wonderful job. She was lovely to talk to, thorough, gave me exactly what I'd asked for, and is the only reason this review isn't only one star. Outside of that, no apologies were made, no refunds were offered, and no matter how often and sincerely I tried to thank everyone for their time I still felt like I was getting irritated energy from some staff throughout the whole process. I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews, and consider myself a pretty reasonable person, but this entire experience was a bizarre train wreck. At this point it was over four months ago, and watching my hair slowly grow out with a thick strip of magenta toning, a bright line from where my roots were highlighted, and the rest of my hair duller and dryer than it was before continues to frustrate and bum me out. Apparently enough to be a Karen and write about it online.

I had my hair colored recently with Julia Donofree and the whole experience was perfect I had to write a review. The Salon: Parking is bizarrely easy, considering it's on 3rd. Plus, the salon is inviting and feels refreshingly down to earth, considering how upscale it is. There's no snobby vibes - just lovely people doing their job really well. The Color: Not only is Julia an expert in her field - but she is an absolute delight. I'm 37 and have A LOT of gray, so I went to have them 'dealt with.' She told me she could blend them and take me back to my natural hair color from childhood. I trusted her immediately bc it was so obvious she cared so much. The conversation was friendly and fun and the time flew by. Through the whole appointment, she communicated clearly, making sure we were on the same page. She is so deeply invested in what she does - it seems to be simultaneously an art form and a labor of love. When I left the salon, my hair looked awesome - and once the color set/settled in over the next couple days, it looked even better. It's my natural honey blonde I hadn't seen in decades. It's been 6 weeks since I had it colored and I am probably 4-6 weeks out from needing another appointment. Honestly, I cannot recommend Julia highly enough.

I love how big and spacious this salon is. I normally have black hair, very dark at the roots and I turned blond since 2015. I was having problem with orange reflections, also I had damages or burns at my hair so many times. Because of that I am so picky about my hair colorist. I moved to LA and was so stressful about finding a new salon. Last year I tried this salon, Nick colored my hair and my hair came out so healthy and as in the color I wanted it to be. I am so grateful for the result. He is very good at blond coloring, and very careful when appyling the color or the bleach, so your hair don't break. I also like chatting with him while I wait 3 hours for my hair. He has a good personality (one time he had to cancel our appointment but then he made it up me)

The helmet part of the haircut is so embarrassing, no matter how much I style it, it always looks bad.

Through the non-profit "Children with Hair Loss" Du Japon Hair Club was vetted for donations and is the only approved salon in the Los Angeles area. I met Yuki, who owns and operates this salon and also one of the best stylists I've had in my years of barbers. She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I would recommend calling well in advance for your appointment, as she works generally towards the end of the week through the weekend.

Yuki should have warned me that my hair was too fine for this process instead of taking my money to ruin my hair. If she is so experienced and so great she should have known better and know that the process she was doing would ruin my hair. This is my warning to others that are going here to have straightening done. Don't rely on her to tell you it's not right for your hair. To top it off when I called to tell her she did not apologize, she did not act as though she felt bad her response was not caring at all. Not to mention she didn't offer any advice or a refund. Now it will take me years to get my hair healthy and I'm so upset.

I found Anya on Reddit and came in on a nice Sunday to get a curly cut from her. She was super comfortable doing my hair and talking to me about what I wanted, and even made suggestions that went along with what my endgame was. I essentially told her I wanted to keep my bangs and my face framing little hair tendrils, and she can do what she wanted with the rest! From there, she asked questions such as how heavy my hair feels regularly/the last time I got it cut, if I like my hair to have volume or sit the way it is and mimicked with my hair how both versions looked, made observations and suggestions on where we could go. Honestly, this was the best experience I've had! She thinned out a lot of my hair as well since it gets pretty heavy for me, gave me a nice shape and my hair more personality, and even layers on the back to make everything more cohesive! Frankie was my wash tech (is that what they're called?) and she was great to talk to about books! She was also very cautious on making sure the water was just right for my scalp.
