I have dark hair and it's hard to get the right tone but she did such a good job, got the right tone and I truly felt understood. She also really cares about your hair health and was fantastic. I highly recommend her for a hair color or any hair service you need can't wait to come back and get styled by her again. Yesterday was the second time I went to Makenna. Last time was August. First of all, my color lasted me very long which I really appreciated. I don't even know where to begin. Makenna is exceptional when it comes to listening to what you want and then she executes it with perfection. During my 8 years in the US Makenna is by far the best hair stylist I've come across. So grateful! I cant recommend her enough. She's got the sweetest kindest personality too as if her talent wasn't enough. Oh and another thing I love is how much she cares about not damaging your hair! She does not let you sit under a heater and let your poor bleached hair get fried, which I'm so happy about because my hair has broke from that in the past. I've never been treated so poorly by a salon - by both the receptionists and stylist (Makenna). I was scheduled for a 5:30PM Friday appointment for highlights and was told to call the say of to see if I could come in earlier. When I did, the receptionist told me the person who was before me was running late and I would have to start at 6:30PM. When I said if that was the case, I would like to reschedule, they told me there was nothing for weeks. I messaged my stylist to clarify, since no manager was available and the receptionists sounded inexperienced, and I was told they couldn't "rush color" and to "enjoy my evening". I had no time restrictions, I just didn't want to be sitting in a salon chair after 10PM on a Friday night because someone else was late. I would up with an appointment the next day with Danielle at Salon Maxime who was far more talented - took me on time and was lovely. It was slightly more expensive than Bomane but well worth it! read more

I went in for a haircut based off of a cut modeled and posted on Bomane's Instagram. I scheduled my original appointment online and I received a text from the salon asking them to move my appointment. Inconvenient, but I needed the cut so I shuffled the schedule to make it work. The stylist was friendly, I showed her the video of the cut I wanted and she said it would be no problem and got to work. She washed my hair then cut my hair. The cut itself was really fast, but I figured she was a professional and could move quickly due to experience. She immediately did a blowout, and curled the ends so I couldn't really see the cut but I felt at first glance it looked close enough to the video, it was just styled differently. When I woke up the next day and the blow out had settled, I saw that the face framing layers were suuuper uneven and the cut was generally blunt and unblended. It was very obviously rushed through. I tried to reschedule with the same stylist, and AGAIN they asked to push my appointment - this time by two hours the day of the appointment. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or ability to return multiple times to get a haircut corrected and certainly not to have an appointment rescheduled the same day. Generally unimpressed with the cut and customer service overall. read more

Receptionist that I talked to twice had no clue was going on with my stylists books. Kept telling me she would call me back and mind you never did and had a terrible attitude. I reach out to my stylist because I got a text reminder of my upcoming appt I didn't know I actually had one because I was told I had to put a deposit down to solidify that I did. I then ask her how much estimated it would cost for my highlights. (I was ready to spend 1k) (my hair is ulta fine barely a ponytail.) it was 600 for color and for the hair extensions a half head I was quoted 1500. That is 2100 dollars. I'll go and get myself a new purse and get my hair done out of town at the best salon for this price. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I can't say enough about Bomane and the amazing staff. I haven't colored my hair in over 10 years and I had only trimmed it about an inch every 2 months. BUT, I was ready for a change! Not only did I prepay for services but he had already gone ahead and scheduled me and then he had the audacity to text me last minute to tell me he won't be honoring it at this new salon he's relocated to. He even went as far as telling me he wanted to chat about his services and prices instead. It's a bait-and-switch tactic at its worst! Despite moving to Beverly Hills and initially being impressed by the voucher I purchased from a kind sales woman, I refuse to book with Travis. This is far the absolutely worst place I've ever been to for a haircut. They booked me with Waz, who was pretty much the only one available. I came in with high hopes based on amazing reviews online, but left crying with my hair ruined. I asked the hairdresser to trim my dead ends, but she took "special" care to chop off my hair in random places, in a senseless manner. The whole haircut process took about 2.5 minutes (for over $190), and honestly, I still see the dead ends in some parts of hair. Then, for the color, I wanted to go a few shades lighter, but she went on to give me horrible highlights. In the end I had strands of hair that were super light, some medium color, and the rest dark. I was shocked! but she said not to worry as she will apply a toner to help blend this disaster. The result was a bright "pee" color. I went home and tried to fix this by washing this ugly mess. To my surprise the "high-quality" toner she applied washed off and the ugly, discolored mess came out, along with a bunch of my own hair due to the damage. The hairdresser charged me almost 800. I never ever cried so much over hair before. I had to go to another salon and pay to get this fixed, but they told me it will take another month for the hair to even recover. I can't believe how unprofessional and inexperienced some hairdressers are in this place, I will never recommend this place even to my worst enemies. read more
