After my first visit in April, I had a root touch-up and trim with Laurin. Overall, I was really happy with the cut and color. However, I left the salon with hair color stained on my forehead, which wasn't great because I had a couple errands to run on my way home. I mentioned it to Laurin, and she apologized, said it would come off in a few days and that toothpaste could help remove it faster. She also said she'd make a note so it wouldn't happen again next time. Unfortunately, at my appointment on June 22, it happened again. This time, there was enough color on my skin that I was wiping it off with a napkin while still sitting in the chair. Even so, I later discovered additional staining on my forehead, ears, and neck when I got home. What disappoints me most is that I shared this feedback in the text message I received after my appointment and haven't heard from anyone since. Honestly, that's the part that surprised me. Mistakes happen, but after it happened a second time--especially after we had already discussed it during my first visit--I would have appreciated at least an acknowledgment or follow-up. I almost didn't bother writing this review because the whole thing has been such a bummer. I'm only leaving it here as information for anyone who might find it helpful.

Efrat did my Brazilian Blowout and was incredibly thorough and meticulous throughout the entire process. She's like a hair doctor and magician all in one! I have a LOT of thick, frizz-prone hair, and she took her time working through every section - even the baby hairs - rather than rushing through it. My hair is also pretty dry and porous, and the difference afterward is incredible - SO smooth, shiny, sleek, and easy to manage. I also have curly hair and wanted it straight, and even after swimming in the ocean and multiple hair washes, it is still perfectly straight and sleek - with no product and just air drying (didn't even know that was possible!). Yanai cut my hair afterward and did a beautiful job as well. He took off exactly what needed to come off while still keeping the length I wanted. The whole appointment was a long process because of how much hair I have, and I really appreciated how much care and attention they put into getting the result right. First of all, I want to say that Yuki is a very nice person, and this review is not personal in any way. I also completely understand that for some people, paying $220 plus tip (around $270) for a trim is totally normal, and I'm sure many clients are very happy at this price point. However, this price point does not match my personal understanding of what $270 represents for a haircut in LA. For me, when I pay this amount, I am paying not just for time, but for the stylist's professional judgment and their understanding of beauty -- meaning there should be some meaningful adjustment or improvement based on my original haircut. In my case, my hair has two layers. On the lower layer, it was mainly blow-dried and cut slightly flatter to look heavier, which took less than five minutes. On the upper layer, there were literally about three small cuts to add texture. I am not even commenting on whether the result is good or bad -- but objectively, the change is extremely minimal. After multiple haircuts in LA, at this price level, I personally expect to see a noticeable difference. At this moment, I honestly can't tell if my hair looks any different from before, and I'm not even sure if it will look better after washing. As today's result contributed by professional blow-dry. I hesitated a lot before writing this review. But I realized that when your expectation and your budget are well matched before a haircut, the whole experience can be very comfortable and positive. When they are not well matched, it becomes a lose-lose situation. The stylist did spend a full hour providing the service, and I did receive that service for an hour. But the service itself did not match what I had prepared to pay for. At that point, you cannot refuse to pay, but you also feel quite uncomfortable after paying. This review is mainly for those who are relatively sensitive at this price point. If your budget is very comfortable, your hair structure is already very good, and you are happy with just a very simple trim on top of an existing style, then this may be totally fine for you. The products, washing, blow-drying, and overall environment are all very good, and the general experience itself is pleasant. This is simply my personal experience and expectation at this price level.
