My review is long overdue! But I finally must write one! I have been going to Josephine at Les Cheveux (otherwise called LaDuree Hair Salon) ever since October 2023. And she and her assistant, Charlie, are absolutely awesome :D !! I only wish I found them sooner :) ! Prior to finding her on Yelp, I went to a salon in Westwood that was run by a couple. But I wasn't too happy with how they had me change around my schedule just so they could run their personal errands. When you run a business, you should always put customers first. If you have certain personal tasks to take care of as business owners, you simply block off certain appointment times on your manual or virtual calendar so customers don't book appointments for those date/time slots. If something unexpected comes up, you contact your customer to see if you can reschedule on the next date/time that your customer would prefer for a reschedule. But you don't keep pushing the time further and further into the day on the day of the appointment, and make your customer keep adapting to your schedule. This couple did just that :( ! So I got frustrated and decided to take my business elsewhere! I'm really grateful that I found Josephine and her assistant, Charlie :) ! They are so professional and courteous, and they really listen to your needs! Because my previous stylist at the previous salon was so scissor-happy , didn't listen, and cut more than I told her to cut, so far, Josephine hasn't cut my hair because we have to wait until it grows back enough to cut it. The previous stylist botched my hair by creating unwanted and uneven bangs that I told her not to do :( . So because of the damage from the haircut I got from the previous stylist, Josephine has been trying to fix my hair each time I have gone to her since October 2023. Josephine's prices are very reasonable :) ! And she has a great knack and sense for what works for your hair! Because I have always had white hair ever since I was in elementary school, I have had to dye my hair since I was a teenager. Josephine gave me a really nice caramel brown color that really goes well with my skin tone :) ! Thanks so much, Josephine :D !! And thank you, too, Charlie :D !! When I finally get to the point of needing a haircut, I can't wait to see what Josephine can recommend :) I always look forward to seeing her and Charlie :D ! The best way to schedule with her is by appointment because I don't think she takes walk-ins. You can message her the first time through Yelp. Then for every appointment after that, you can book your appointment by texting her via phone :) ! She really tries her best to work with your schedule. I work really oddball hours at my hospital workplace. But she really tries to help me out by coordinating hair appointments before I have to work in the afternoon / evening. There is a small free parking lot in the back of the salon. If you have morning appointments, it's generally pretty feasible to get a good parking spot there. But if not, there is metered parking out in front of the salon. Or you can also park around the corner on the small side street where there are signs for 2-hour free parking :) . Les Cheveux is within walking distance to a small outdoor mall with a Starbucks and a Chase Bank if you need to stop by at these places either before, or after, your hair appointment (which I usually do) :) ! read more

I love love love coming here for my haircuts! Josephine is truly one-of-a-kind and I can't imagine going anywhere else. She's very transparent about the amount of hair she believes would be best to cut off/trim, and she always shows you the EXACT length that it'll be once she's finished. My hair looks so healthy each time I leave and -- somehow -- it still looks just as long as it was when I walked in! Hair dye virgin here! Wanted to get balayage done since the pandemic, but kept shying away from the idea due to the fear of getting something I didn't like or ask for. I booked an appointment for Josephine after reading many positive reviews from others. Booking was easy, I just reached out on yelp and we figured out a good date, sent her a picture of my hair in its current state and inspiration photo and we were good to go. I immediately knew I was in good hands stepping into her studio as Josephine greeted me with such a sweet, welcoming and warm energy. She evaluated my hair and went in depth the explain everything from process, technique, and color suggestion based on my virgin hair. I was worried of getting something too visibly strong and wanted to keep the highlights as natural as possible that complimented my base color. Well SHE DELIVERED!! The highlights were subtle but very visible when I went outside and got tons of compliments! Very happy with the result. Parking: On sunday mornings (8am), there is PLENTY of street parking right outside and across the street. Josephine also has 2 spots or so in the guest lot right behind her studio that you can find through the side alleyway. I contacted Josephine through Yelp and I got very lucky with an opening. I sent her a picture of my hair and a picture of what I wanted. It was meant to be. So thankful I decided to wait and get my hair done by Josephine. She is such a pleasure and she's passionate about being a colorist. Going from natural dark brown Asian hair to vibrant purple/pink is not a trivial task but Josephine really knew what she was doing. She carefully painted the bleach on my hair to ensure the bleach was at the requested height on my head (balayage). She validated the colors with me prior to applying (purple to pink ombre)...honestly came out better than I could have imagined. To top it off, my hair feels just as healthy as it did before all the processing!
