The first photo is the reference pic I sent the stylist. The rest are what they did, completely different! I paid $200 and did not get anything close to what I asked for. The stylist asked me to return so they can fix it for an additional $100. Honestly I felt so ugly and sad walking around with yellow, brassy, and green hair. After the first wash my hair became completely yellow with a green tint then it started to become more and more green. I reached out to the stylist and they recommended I add the tinted conditioner they gave me and I did but that didn't remove the yellow and it made my hair more green. I sent them pictures with concerns about my hair being green and I did not get a response. I decided to cancel my "follow up" appointment since I am not confident the stylist could fix this, I felt they were ignoring me/didn't care, and several friends informed me that it's not typical for a stylist to charge and extra 100 for a follow up if they're the one that did not do the hair correctly/as wanted in the first place. read more

I just took a huge leap of faith and changed my hair color to blue and purple!! I was SO NERVOUS! I'm also not usually into the whole salon atmosphere but Sirens is different. Tami took care of me completely and she made me feel right at home! She really knows what she's doing with color!! I booked an appointment with Sirens to have a set of Dome dreadlock extensions done and I am absolutely OVER THE MOON with Kristen and Travis's work :) They both were so incredibly sweet and accommodating to my requests and bent over backwards to ensure I walked out of the salon with the hair I wanted! :) Kristen has been doing these for years and you can tell! I always go to Travis to get my bright colors done. I have had every color of hair over the past 5 years. I had a lot of blue left over when I came in this week, and I was trying to switch to orange. He used some color remover on me (just once to avoid damaging the hair) and covered up what was left with this beautiful color!! I am very pleased with it, and Siren will be my go-to salon from here on out. Having paid upwards of $600 for haircuts in LA that were essentially the same cut but in different colors, I am always extremely pleased to see that the bill here comes out to a reasonable $450. All the staff I have met are super friendly, and Travis doesn't mind me doing homework while he works which is essential. read more

DISCLOSURE: I have never set foot in the salon, but that's just the problem. A few months ago I requested an appointment on their online dashboard. The appointment was accepted and scheduled. A few hours later the stylist who I had booked with called me to tell me that he would have to reschedule the appointment for the next day. I agreed and cleared my schedule to accommodate the new time. The next day he called me to tell me that he couldn't cut my hair because his clippers were broken. That was probably true, but it also really sounded like he was just trying to get out of the appointment. I was frustrated enough to just reach out to a different salon. A few weeks ago I decided to give this salon another try. I requested an appointment with a different stylist. A few hours later I was notified that they had a scheduling issue and that my appointment time could not be accommodated. I went to their website to try and book another time with her, but there wasn't any other appointment times available for at least a week (with anyone other than the first stylist that I had no luck with months ago). This place might be the best salon ever. I just won't ever find out because it seems impossible to get an appointment even though they have dozens of appointments listed as available at any give time. read more

This review of Sirens Salon is 12 years overdue, honestly because no matter what I say I feel like it may not do justice to how incredible it is. Since I moved to LA I have been coming to the salon and haven't looked back. :) Kristin and her team are nothing short of artists, magicians, stylists, professionals, freaking glam mermaid unicorns, and the best of the best. For years I have been a client of Kristin's for blonde highlights, all-over foil, balayage, and trims. Sometimes I bring in photos of color(s) I like, and I walk out looking like the exact photo, but I'm also at the point where I trust Kristin to do whatever she thinks is best for all of my damn hair! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair color and health of my hair. Even though I'm one of the blondies who comes through Sirens every couple of months, I have seen Kristin and her team work wonders on people from all walks of life. Normally I am surrounded in this fun salon by rainbows and bursts of color. For over a decade they have been the best in all of LA for the most vibrant works of art on so many beautiful people. I have witnessed everything from gorgeous extensions, beautiful cuts on people of all genders, disaster fixes (where they probably paid double for it), fun flowy braids, and gorgeous blowouts. I've observed people walking in and asking for the most adventurous styles I've heard of, and I've never seen Kristin and her team flinch over making it happen. They are absolute professionals who give the best advice, because I think they've done and seen it all! Considering the location of the salon, right off Melrose, the pricing is more than reasonable for their quality of work. I love love love Sirens. I've been going here for the past four years and Kristin is my go to stylist (and also the owner). I love all of the stylists though (Tea and Ryan are amazing). I am one of the people that gets normal color and cut (highlights, low-lights and trim). So everyone should know that not only do they do beautiful bright veggie colors and extensions (among other things), but they also do my more natural color really well. 2 years after my last update - and 8 years since I started seeing Kristin at Sirens (I can't believe it's been 8 years!), and I'm still consistently excited to go in and get my hair done. While we sometimes experiment with different shades of pink and lavender, we've found a regular strawberry/peach color I really love and like to stick with (for the most part). It feels like "my" color now, and I'm beyond happy with it and with Kristin's work.
