For the past four years, I have been seeing Robby Kiwan for all of my hair needs, and I would describe him as nothing short of a miracle worker!! I often get compliments on how healthy my hair looks, and I credit it to the fact that I see Robby every 10 weeks. He has incredible attention to detail and is always able to bring my vision to life, even when I struggle to articulate it. He makes sure that he's giving you the exact right haircut for you, and he's an expert at a wide range of techniques, including razor cutting and dry cutting. Whenever I see Robby, I can trust him to take good care of me and my hair, even if we're trying something new. Robby also is really great at explaining how and why as he styles you, so I get a clear sense of how to best take care of my hair at home. I trust his product recommendations, because they're genuine and never pushy. Today was my first time visiting him at Freija Collective, and I was so impressed by the salon. The space is beautiful and the staff are all attentive and extremely friendly. They stock a wide range of really high-quality products; today, they introduced me to the RŌZ line which I hadn't seen at other salons but really loved on my hair. My long-time stylist Robby moved to Freija collective and I am sold! What a lovely, calm environment this salon is. From the minute you walk in, you are taken care of. Everything is clean and fresh. Noise is kept to a minimum (except of course when a dryer is running). As for Robby, I'd probably follow him anywhere, and I'm glad he landed here! He listens carefully and includes the whole-you in his vision. He is kind and soft spoken. He is knowledgeable about products and is careful to inform you about ingredients and scents. Terrible cancellation policy. I injured my hand last night and ended up receiving stitches in my hand at the emergency room last night. So I called Freija this morning to book an appointment for a blow dry since I can't do my own hair for a wedding I'm attending today, and they said that they had space for me at 1:15. I got into my car to try to get to the appointment and realized I could not hold the steering wheel, thus cannot drive to my appointment . At 12:15, i I reached back out to explain this and apologized at having to cancel my appointment, and they informed me that they charge a 50% cancellation fee. The person I was texting was said she would speak to the manager and see if they would make an exception because it was an emergency. I just received a text saying that they went ahead and processed the cancellation fee and I would be receiving a payment receipt shortly. This is not the kind of business that I want to support. Zero understanding from the business owner/manager. Gross. I understand cancelling without reason and being charged a fee, but this is an emergency and I am appalled their terrible customer service and lack of empathy. Will never return to this salon again. read more

Robby has been cutting my hair every 8-10 weeks on avg for exactly 3 years this month. It is the longest and most consistent I've gone to anyone for hair care...ever. At my last appointment I started to think about this and realized it's because it kind of feels like he's cutting my hair for the first time. He's thoughtful and creative about how he's going to approach the cut - every time. The result is also consistent: my hair looks and feels so vibrant and healthy. He recently started cutting at Freija Collective and had my appointment there today. What a lovely clean, and calming atmosphere. The acoustics are ideal as the walls absorb sound really nicely. I noticed they also use high end hair care products which I really appreciated. Demi the receptionist was warm and inviting, her beautiful hair making you excited for your own haircut haha. First and foremost, let's give Markie a shout out! I've been working with Markie for a couple of years now and I've gotten to the point where she is the only one allowed to cut my hair. PERIOD. When I leave the salon, my haircut looks amazing and the cut allows me to recreate the style. Imagine that! The true test of her skillset is that as my hair grows, out it still holds its shape and looks amazing. I have a friend who lives in Pacific Palisades, who told me to go to Highland Park to this specific salon (she has worked with a variety of stylist at this location and loves all). Katrina's facials are amazing!!! I had a months long acne outbreak due to my IUD expiring. (Reminder to check your birth control efficacy ladies!) I had hyperpigmentation and the acne left some scars. The nano-needling infusion facial is life changing!!! I love the products she uses, and now I use IS Clinical at home too. Jenna is amazing at color!! I've gone to her now for 2 years (if you exclude 2020) and have always been in love with how my hair turns out. This time was no different. I went in wanting to go a little blonder and more ashy and gave her a reference photo. By the time my hair was blow dried and styled, I was blown away - I loved the result!! It was the exact tone and color I was looking for and I always love how she styles the hair each time (soft beachy curls that look effortless). I also love how Jenna is super sweet and kind, and is always providing recommendations and advice for my hair. My hair had always been on the dry side and she recommended some products that have changed my hair. She also always works with you to figure out that look that you're going for and will let you know whether the look you want is realistic given the current state of your hair. I like that she puts the integrity of your hair first!! First time here and as soon as I walked in the door the service was great. This was my first cut with Rae and I could not be more pleased. She asked what I wanted and what I did not want. Just got my hair done with Markie, and let me tell you, she's a gem! I had my little one 4 months ago so it's been a hot minute since I've been able to pamper myself. This was *everything*! Not only did Markie make me feel like a goddess with my new hairdo, but our conversation was easy flowing and connective. It was as if I was catching up with a close girlfriend. She's warm, talented, and takes the time to hear what you'd like and then delivers that look. She taught me a few times how to style my bangs (baby brain!) and was patient with my indecisiveness. She's is a master with hair color and styling. She works with you to achieve your hair dreams!
