I can't recommend Sammy enough. She always listens carefully to exactly what I want and somehow makes it even better every single time. She gives the best advice for my specific hair type, always making sure my hair stays healthy while still achieving the look I'm going for. You can truly tell she cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I always leave feeling confident, refreshed, and obsessed with my hair. My previous colorist moved away. One colorist told me that my hair could not be medium brown without red tones. The next dyed my hair black and damaged my hair. Guen performed miracles on my hair and returned it to brown with gold undertones. She is an absolute expert and so kind too! The salon is relaxing and services are reasonably priced. The best! read more

SAMMY D!! She is the BEST. I'm a male and have been getting my haircut by her for over 6 years. Sammy is detail oriented, sweet, and will give you an awesome haircut/style every time you visit. I've recommended several male and female friends to her. Also, she is incredible when it comes to coloring hair, she definitely has a talent for it. I recently moved to Chicago and came to visit Los Angeles making sure I got an appointment with Sammy to cut my hair. Overall Double- O is a great salon and sell great hair products. read more

Curly girl here. I've been hesitate to get a haircut because what if it's bad. In comes GRICELDA and silences allll those fears. GRICELDA was so great! She asked what I was looking for and she explained her process and what she was going to do before she did it. First she did a dry cut, which I let out a deep sigh of relief! Gricelda was so knowledgeable and friendly and made this a really great experience and the outcome was truly wonderful! My hair had SHAPE! And the VOLUME is everything I wanted but didn't think my hair could do. If you are looking for your curls to be given some life book your appointment with GRICELDA! I'm so glad I did! Double O salon has a very cool laid back vibe to it. Street parking is available and I also picked up a curly cream which has been great this last week! read more

I used to go all the way to west covina when I lived in El Monte and have been struggling to find a new place in the area after I moved. There is a chipotle across the street that I usually go to during lunch and is how I found this place. Pricing looked good online so that is why I decided to make my appointment. I came on a Sunday and saw that there is only street parking available so luckily the meters take cards because I was out of coins. Upon entering my stylist walked me to the back to get my hair washed. After going over what I wanted she began cutting and I appreciate that she kept checking in with me about the length. I wish I would have gotten the name of the leave in conditioner she used because my hair felt so light weight and bouncy. I appreciated that she tried to make conversation the full time as well. The haircut took about an hour and i will definitely be coming back. I loved my haircut and the pricing was reasonable! read more

I tried this place out after reading the positive reviews and can attest that I like the atmosphere and the stylists here. They're all so chill and friendly. April was my stylist. I wanted curtain bangs and she gave a step by step process as to what she was going to do and politely asked me what I wanted. I really appreciated the pointers she gave out as to how I can style my bangs everyday. Not very many hair stylists who I've worked with have done that in the past. She gave me the exact hair style that I wanted. Will be coming back! read more

I've been going to Goldie for years and if you go see her - you'll know why. Today we did a partial hi-light, trim, gloss and blowout. All were excellent, as usual. I have long, thick, dark blonde hair and Goldie is so patient with how long my services take. She knows so much about hair and always answers my questions. I have lots of color all over after years of hi-lighting and Goldie helps me with my hair maintenance. I'm so glad she's at Double-O now. The salon space is great and in a really cool neighborhood. I also love that they use / carry Kevin Murphy. I love my new salon and highly recommend asking for Goldie :) @marisgentry read more

Double-O really cares about their clients hair and safety during COVID!!!! ‍ It's been so long!!! Now that places are starting to slowly and safely open again, my stylist Carly was able to squeeze me in. There's no more than the stylist and client there. Only myself, stylist and another stylist and her client on the other side of the salon. This place was clean before COVID and now they're taking even MORE caution of cleaning and providing a safe environment for the clients and themselves!! It's so relieving knowing they're sanitizing stations and everything anyone comes into contact with. Masks that go behind the ears are required to be worn at all times while in the salon. Wearing a mask wasn't in the way or a problem during my cut and color. Hair came out amazing as always too! read more

When I came to Carly, I was a bit indecisive what I wanted to do with my hair. I have been growing it out the past year, and couldn't decide if I wanted to cut 6 inches off to donate or continue growing it out and have it trimmed. Carly was so knowledgeable about the donation process, she explained to me how it would be better do donate the full 10 inches instead of the 6. I didn't just want a basic hair trim...so she gave me a couple of different options...and I decided on a hair trim with some face framing pieces and it came out AMAZING!! My hair is still long but it feels healthy and has more volume! She took off less than an inch, but it made a huge difference! read more

I didn't like this place. Employees unprofessional and I didn't like their service . I don't recommend

Loove this salon! Suzie is the sweetest. She's great at giving recommendations and altering the look to your needs. She also gave me some history on this place and the owners - seems like they genuinely care about their local customers and consistency. Hadn't had a hair cut in almost a year because finding the right place and stylist to be my spot and person seemed daunting. They have a funny photo outside the door that's a picture of Christopher Walken that says "Walkens welcome." I've always enjoyed the photo when walking by so when I reached my limit for having long hair, I decided to try this place out. Walked in and was surprised by how big it was inside. Looks tiny from the outside. I was greeted by a friendly person who told me someone could cut my hair a couple hours from then. That's great! I showed up later and they were ready for me. Alexis was super kind and gave me a fantastic cut! She didn't rush and was particular about her cuts I could tell. This is the sign of a good stylist. I am extremely happy with my hair cut and the service here. Great pricing too. I rarely write Yelp reviews let alone one this long but this place, and Alexis deserve their credit. I have found my new spot and stylist, and I'll certainly be back!! read more

Super cute salon. First time there. Goldie colored, cut, and styled me for 5 hours today and the results are so beautiful. I wasn't totally sure what I was asking for and she took the time to explain what was possible and was so patient with me. Hair success in Eagle Rock! I placed my hair in the care of Sammy D this week for close to 9 hours - Visit 1 for a smoothing / straightening treatment, Visit 2 for highlights/lowlights. She spent the time talking through all of the options with me before diving in. I have been trying to get my hair this color for a couple of years and she nailed it on the first try. Very happy! The salon is a gem, a very cool space, made me feel at home and comfortable. Thank you Sammy! See you again soon. read more

There was a time I used to HATE my hair. No, I mean that. I mean, I really HATED my hair. Yes. I know that hate is a strong word, but there were times that I thought of shaving off my hair so I didn't have to deal with it anymore! There was a time when I had a wonderful hair stylist, but then he moved on to work with only celebrities. That made me sad, because he was awesome. Then, I tried going to different hair stylists per friends' recommendations and Yelp. I mean, how hard could cutting hair be, right? Well, it could prove to be a little tricky if the hair that needed cutting was mine. You see, I have A LOT of hair and it's very thick. And over the years, it has morphed into a thing that needs serious taming. A comment, which my hippie mom considers to be a complement, "Oh, your hair looks so natural!", which to me translates to Amazon woman hair! My hair even reminds me a lot of Cathy, the old comic strip character. So, to appease my sanity, I would put my hair up in a pony tail or a bun, just so that it would be out of the way! AND, when I finally did try different hair stylists, they would basically butcher my hair! They used thinning scissors, which gave me so many split ends! I looked as though I had mange! Often, I would go home crying after visiting the salon. But then I would appease myself by saying that at least my hair would grow out again. One of my dear friends, who took pity on my directed me to Christina. It was like the heavens opened up! O, what sheer joy! This woman must use magic sheers for she has transformed my hair from being a mangy mess into being silky, healthy, and tres chic! I get compliments on my hair ALL the time. I always tell it's because of Christina. And, not only does she make my hair look amazing, she teaches me how to properly take care of my hair. Remember when I mentioned how I got so many split ends? Well, Christina says that using thinning scissors actually damages hair, creating split ends. Instead, she uses hair cutting sheers, and it's all about technique. I'm always learning something new from her. What I also love about Christina is the attention she spends on cutting my hair. She really makes sure that it looks incredible. And while cutting my hair, we have so much to talk about, which really puts me at ease, considering I have anxiety about my hair. Seriously, this woman is a cut above the rest! read more

so after reading all of the reviews on yelp, I decided to give this salon a try. when i called to make the appointment I specifically said that I'm looking for a fresh, completely new look and to book me with someone who can accomplish that. When I arrived, I was happy to see the cute decor and calmness of the salon. I was asked if I wanted coffee or water which was also a nice little touch. My hair stylist was a male, maybe he's the only male there because he wasn't mentioned in the other reviews I read. My appointment was at 4 pm; I arrived at 3:50 and wasn't seated until 4:30. Although he did apologize for keeping me waiting, I didn't feel that they did a good enough job to be sincere about it. So I explained to him the same thing I did to the receptionist about getting a lighter cut with more layers and bangs-a change. He proceeded to shed a lot of the thickness in my hair and accentuated my bangs and the hair around my face.....and that's about it. He cut my hair dry and then shampooed and conditioned it and then dried it. I think the most disappointing thing was that when it came to blow dry my hair, he didn't even style it!!!! He blow dried it straight and then finished with a flat iron. I CAN DO THAT MYSELF AT HOME!!! Whenever I get my haircut the stylists always use a round brush and dryer and give me knockout volume that lasts until the next day. Now, this haircut cost me $65. And for that price, I am extremely disappointed. It doesn't even look like I got my haircut. I also bought the product he used on me in the salon to try and do a nice blow out at home, but the results weren't what I was aiming for. Although he was a very polite person and took interest in my life by asking questions and getting to know me, I'm pretty pissed off about the money I blew at this place. I came here with an open mind, ready to start fresh, and the result was something I could've done myself. I felt that expensive haircuts are usually worth it. I guess getting a haircut from the people mentioned in the other ads is the way to go because I definitely missed out on something. I unfortunately will never ever go back to this place. :( read more

I've been coming to Carly for four years now, and highly recommend her for both haircut and color. We've done several different styles and colors over the years, and I've never walked out disappointed. Carly takes a lot of time to talk through my goals/desired results and talk through options and what's possible and how things are going to translate. She's also cut my husband's hair for close to a decade, and she really knows how to tame curly/unruly hair! The salon also has taken great lengths to implement COVID safety measures, and I've always felt very secure there. read more

I am very picky about who cuts my hair, only because almost ever single person who as been recommended as literally ruined my hair! I took a chance with this place and I was pleasantly surprised. I went in as a difficult customer, having had red and black hair for several years and wanted to take the red out. Gwenevere was very patient with me and went above and beyond what I was expecting! She took all the red out, added more black and she changed the whole style of the colored pieces. She ended up adding in reds, purples and blues, it was beautiful! She also gave me an amazing cut and said if I did not like it to come back and she would change it. I loved it from day one and just went back for another round of color. This time we went with all blues, she mixed the color herself and it is a knock out! I swear yesterday every person I passed stared at it and smiled! Seriously after getting my hair done here, almost everywhere I go people come up and ask me about the color and where it was done. The security guard at Ralph's actually asked me if he could touch it! I am not one for all the attention but getting complements constantly on your hair feels so good! I will never get my hair done anywhere else! read more

Best haircut of my life from Sammy. She cut it exactly how I wanted and was able to maximized the waviness in my hair.

Guenevere is the absolute best! She is so sweet and attentive! I have very difficult hair to deal with and she has been the only one so far to help me keep it under control! She listens to exactly what you want and offers suggestions if you're not sure what you're looking to do with your hair! Best stylist I've had in a hot min! I definitely recommend her if you're going to check this place out! Now for the salon overall, it's clean, trendy, and relaxing! And P.S I highly recommend buying "Bedroom Hair" texture spray by Kevin Murphy. It's the absolute best thing ever invented. It gives you that tossed sexy hair style with just a few sprays and some teasing. And it smells absolutely amazing! read more

I came here for a consultation with Guenevere. I rold her that I wanted a bob, color my hair back to my natural black and add highlights. Guenevere was professional at the beginning, bit at the end, she refused to shake my hand. She wanted to charge me $250, and this is why I would not: the coloring and highlights were only to be done on the crown and not underneath where it was already my natural black color and yet she wanted to charge me $250 to color half of my hair, also Guenevere thought my natural hair color was my light brown highlights, even Guenevere's hair looked unnaturally black and was dried and frizzy, surely not representative of &250 style so I cannot trust the products used at Double-O, and the cheap Craftsman tool chest she uses for her equipment says it all. read more
