This place gave a great welcome when I entered the salon! Everyone was nice and pleasant. Think not!!! Came here another time and probably the worst experience ever. The stylist that I had not sure her name but I will show a pic once I'm done. I ask for blunt bangs and she gives me this. Who the Effin cuts like that. And that's not even blunt. I mean seriously who does that. Obviously you! You just lost a customer and many more that I was going to suggest. And it's been 8 months and a still short. BEWARE FALSE INSTAGRAM PICTURES! I came to this salon for a blow out. I was quoted $55. I went and I noticed Arlet kept taking videos inside my head of my extensions. I was confused as to why she kept recording the inside of my head to show my extension beads. I went to pay and she tried to rip me off and say the blowout was $95. Then I go on her Instagram page and noticed she posted pictures of my extensions and pretended like she did the color and the extensions when she DID NOT. She blocked me on Instagram so I could not see her posts of me. I can't believe a hairdresser would be so unprofessional posting FRAUDULENT pictures of her work & pretending like she did it herself AFTER trying to rip me off $95 for a blow out that was TERRIBLE by the way. read more

This review has been long overdue! I don't live in CA but have been visiting Arlet's Hair Studio every time I visit Glendale for the past 10 years. The staff are extremely nice and professional and greet you like family, the salon is beautiful, spacious and clean, and the service is exceptional! Arlet is one of the most talented hairstylist I know and in a matter of 10 minutes, she gives me a Bob hair cut that's unmatched. I could walk in, get a color and cut and a good scalp massage (by one of the lovely ladies) and walk out happy and refreshed in a matter of two hours. Needless to say, there are always refreshments and Armenian coffee which makes the experience all so much better. I have even used the salon to have my hair and makeup done and get ready for a wedding in the Salon's bathroom (a ton of space just in the bathroom to put on a wedding dress with the help of your friends and not to worry about going up or down steps because there are none)! Also, for a Glendale salon, there is ample parking in the rear of the salon given it is located on a very busy street. I highly recommend this salon for your everyday hairstyling and your special occasions too! They will make your ordinary days a breeze and your special days (weddings, birthdays, etc.) even more special for you! read more

This place gets two stars even though it should honestly get one. Although the staff was very inviting and friendly, hence the one extra star. they completely messed up my hair. It was absolutely horrible. I was going for a light brown ombré with some lavender in my hair, but instead I got super super blond hair with random green, gray, and blue streaks. I brought my friend along who wanted to just get a root touch up since she had gray hair BUT THEN THEY COMPLETELY CHANGED HER HAIR. It became two tones of blond, light blond roots and platinum blond for the rest of her hair. Friendly service but horrible hair experience. They killed my hair basically. Bringing a picture of what you want won't guarantee that that's how they'll make your hair. I legit a a broom looking head for a month until I decided to just chop off my hair. read more

The worst hair dresser ever .she burn my hair and when I went back to her same day I show her what she did to my hair she color again and put more bleach and Made it even worst .the next day my hair started falling out in bunches . You r lucky I don't sue you cuz I don't have the time so you can keep that 200 you charge me as Christmas gift .you need to go take some classes and learn how to run a business and how to Treat and talk to a customer .the next day I go to different hairdresser and after they my hair they ask me Who worked on my hair cuz it was all damage and they did treatment on my hair. Now I needed a last minute,just out of work quick wash and blow out and let me tell you, it was both affordable and enjoyable. Arlet and my stylist were both so friendly and welcoming. I had called many nearby salons that gave me attitude and annoyed sighs when I inquired about a walk-in blow out but not at Arlet's I asked and their response was "Sure thing hun, come on in!" Although the salon is small, it is a very good one. All employees plus the owner were kind and welcoming. I could tell they loved their job. I had no issues with my haircut albeit it was just a simple a-line cut. Wash/cut/dry was around $45 (not 100% sure) plus tip. Location is convenient as it's not too far from the mall. read more

I called Arlet's salon this morning and was surprised that I could get an appointment immediately. I was warmly welcomed and the girls were all so upbeat that I could tell I was in a super positive place. It was nice to discover that Arlet was trained in New York at the Revlon school. I haven't had a descent haircut for about 3 months and was hoping to get tidied up for the new job Monday. Arlet and her girls listened attentively and I showed them a few haircuts I really liked. Arlet gave me an expert consultation and gave me an outstanding cut. She did a great job with my long layers and cut my difficult bangs perfectly. There was no queuing. She was on her game. I mentioned to her that I was wanting Carmel highlights. We shared some pictures and were on the same page. She was able to fit it in to the appointment without a problem. I was absolutely thrilled to be so looked after. While processing the girls offered me a nice refreshment. It was just so ladylike. They applied the finishing process and styled my hair beautifully. My kids came back with the fugliest hair cuts. They were going to get Hollywood headshots and now it will take months for this to grow out. The other reviews were good, so Im not sure why their cut was so bad. Was it racism because it was like she tried to make them look ugly! Unless you are Armenian then your cut will make you look like trash. My son looks like someone took a knife to cut his hair in all different lengths on top. My daughter looks like a boy with an uneven bowl cut!!!!! I am so f@$# pissed! Where did you get your license? Came in on a Saturday just before closing. Arlet welcomed me with open arms and got right to work. I explained that ot was "date night" and i want something simple, yet beautiful and timeless. I came in looking like a wet rat, so i knew this was going to be an uphill battle. We talked about my hair and its natural curl, and how the humidity would be my nemesis. She got right to work. There was a point when i had two gals working on my hair... felt so spoiled. We made small talk, shared some laughs, and in the end, I WAS IN LOVE with the final outcome. I had perfectly side-swept bangs and a small victory roll on the opposite side. Exactly what i had envisioned. Now the downfall... i still had to go home & get ready (makeup/dress), and while i was anxiously standing in front of the fan trying to cool down, i felt it.... small bead of sweat running down my neck. My boyfriend had just gotten out of the shower & the humidity in the apartment was unbearable. I quickly tried to save my hair! Anyone with curly hair knows that humidity is not our friend. After all the brushing and spraying, i was still happy with the soft curl look; however my bangs had to be pinned up (RIP sultry side swept bangs). Thank you Arlet & team for your hardwork! Edit: If the owner of a beauty salon reacts to their negative reviews as "funny" instead of offering better service, well... you've been warned ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I made an appointment for a cut and color on a Saturday morning... the place had regulars coming in and out but not overly-packed. All was good, I thought. I showed them a picture of what I wanted (a straight lob) and for the color I chose a nice cool-toned ombre, and they got to work. For a cut and color appointment, it only took them two hours. I had never had a hair coloring so short, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. In the end, my hair seemed good, and I happily left the salon. My weekend got busy so I didn't allow me to really have a close look at my hair until now... (36 hours later) The layers on the back of my head look like choppy cascades. Other than a few top chunks of hair that had transition, the rest of my head looks like someone dipped it in paint. And the worst of all- there's a black chunk of hair visible from the front that wasn't even touched by bleach at all- it's ridiculous! I don't know whether to laugh or grief or be enraged... all I know is I'm not going back. Color your hair here at your own risk. read more
