We got the laksa, sizzling tofu, and the bird nest (taro basket with vegetable and seafood/chicken) The sizzling tofu is so good. I love this dish. It has some vegetables as well, but it's a good mix of minced meat and shrimp as protein. The dishes do not come with rice so you would want to order on the side. They have white rice or yellow rice (soaked in chicken soup). The portion size is very generous, we had leftovers enough for another meal. I highly recommend this place! Pretty solid Malaysian fare. The menu needs a bit of work as the literal english translation of some Asian dishes don't really tell what it is. For instance, I was looking for the taro nest dish that I've had at another restaurant which contained seafood. Unfortunately their version only contained shrimp and chicken. I've ordered the Hainanese chicken, Sarang Burong, and Thai-style minced pork and shrimp with basil. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. The Hainanese chicken was tender and came with tasty chicken rice and sweet soy. The Sarang Burong was flavorful and fried really well. The sauce and toppings were seasoned nicely. The Thai-style minced pork and shrimp with basil is my favorite dish here's, basically pad krapow, flavor is good with a decent kick. Came here for lunch after running on a early Sunday. We got here around 11 and there were tables available. We ordered satay chicken skewers, yipoh signature pork chop, and laksa noodles. The satay chicken sewers were tender, not dry at all and paired well with the peanut sauce. It does have a little kick to it, which gets a bit amplified with the heat. The pork chops were a more citrusy Peking pork chops, which isn't a bad thing. They were tender and meaty, with just the right amount of batter to not feel like you're just eating dough. This paired well with their chicken rice. The laksa noodles were decent but a bit underwhelming. We expected more flavors but it fell a bit flat. Prices are reasonable and the serving size is pretty good. Worth to try other things on the menu. read more

The place filled up quickly after that. We ordered the satay beef skewers, half a Hainanese chicken, Ipoh pork chop, and chicken rice. The prices are a bit higher than some nearby spots, but the portions were very generous, enough for a full meal plus leftovers to take home. Everything came out fresh and piping hot. Maybe it was the hunger, but everything tasted incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. Rich and flavorful, is what I think of when reminiscing about this food. As someone who is not very familiar with this cuisine, I wanted to try it out and I was not disappointed. The baked curry beef was why I decided to order from Yipoh, as I'd never seen a dish like this. It was very flavorful, the meat was tender. The cheese added a creamy savoriness moment to the dish. As noted from previous reviews, the meat is more on the dry side than liquidy, so there's not much gravy in this dish. But, I didn't miss that or notice that at all because the rice had its own flavor with a kiss of beef oil drip. Very balanced dish in my opinion, not over or under seasoned considering there's beef, cheese and seasoned rice altogether. The chicken curry was also tasty. The broth was a bit watery for my preference, however the flavor was on point and I ate it with the beefy rice. I also had alot of curry left over which I kept in the freezer for another meal! Great portion sizes, definitely can feed 2 maybe 3 people depending on appetites. All in all, I can't wait to try again. My father in law called and reserved a table with a high chair for my baby. I'm glad he did because they only had 1 high chair available. The restaurant seems to be popular. They had 5-6 tables for seating. Almost all of the tables were taken. We ordered all entrees which included pad thai with shrimp (mild) ($13.95), mango chicken ($17.95), fish head soup ($17.95), ong-chow with garlic sauce (17.95), belacan shrimp with string beans with rice, ($17.95), belacan shrimp with okra and rice, and oxtail dish ($32). I ordered the pad thai dish and requested mild but it was still a bit spicy. The dishes were good but some of them were pricey for the amount we got like the mango chicken, the oxtail dish and the belacan shrimp with string beans. I ordered takeout from here quite often and food has mostly been good. My favorite thing to.order would be the Baked curry chicken. Its got the chicken oil rice, the curry chicken drizzled all over the top, and cheese baked right on top. Its a heavy and delicious dish and I am never able to finish it in one sitting. My toddler loves it as well. This baked curry chicken dish is unfortunately not available at their sister store in 20th ave. Their curry noodle soups are also delicious. Ive had the seafood curry noodle soup, and the chicken curry noodle soup, they both hit the spot. Even though this is a sister store to the ipoh from 20th Ave, the soups do taste a bit different and this one (11th ave) honestly tastes better. I don't know why, it just does to me. Ive also tried the pork noodle soup and the soup was flavorful as well, and it was loaded with meat. The nasi lemak is decent as well. The only miss that I've had here so far is the "wat dan hor". My mom got the wat dan hor with clams. It's a new version with clams for only $1.50 more which is a good deal. Overall their menu added a lot of options with clams. Clams make this place unique. My dad tried the yellow wine chicken noodle soup. We saw it on the off menu sign since they first opened but it wasn't actually available back then. It's a good item for cold wintry days. The egg was a surprise and there are many additional toppings. The broth comes out a bit oily perhaps from the chicken. The chicken isn't the most tender but tolerable. I think it comes down to whether you like the yellow wine taste. I'm not a fan. I'm going to give it 5* even if it's not perfect because we enjoyed the meal. The interior is brightly lit and clean, with around 8 tables to dine at. We came on a weeknight when they recently grand opened and the food took some time to come out but was understandable. Heard of this location in 20th Ave. We were looking for lunch, so this new closer location fitted our bill. We got the Bake Curry Beef Shank and Rice ($12.95) after seeing a review. My boyfriend enjoyed it more than me. The curry flavor was very strong, and they give tons of HUGE beef shanks that actually aren't tough to chew! The Ipoh Seafood Wat Dan Hor ($11.50) was top on their menu, so we picked that too, not knowing what it was. It turned out to be like an egg drop noodle over chow fun. The sauce was very creamy and soft, making the veggies and seafood also soft and sweet. The chow fun underneath was also pan fried and well flavored on its own, but I personally didn't think that matched over the creamy sauce to really complement the sauce.
