I wanted a lion in either my knee or chest. I wasn't sure at all. Contacted a few shops and Ying responded fast and communicated fast when I had follow up questions via yelp messaging. They offered a free consult which few shops do. I go there they had a screen of all different lion tattoo variations. A specific program for tattooing. Very cool. They printed out a few I liked and we three discussed pros and cons of size and placement. Ying, myself, and Connor the tattoo artist. I embarrassingly had to reschedule a couple sessions and arrived late for my first one (100% my fault) and they established with great kindness a boundary around time while giving me the full time of tattooing. They could have charged me the hour I was late (bad communication on my part) they did not. Now don't take that as permission to do what I did cause you might (and should) be charged, but I share this to show how friendly, understanding, and at the same time professional they are. Took two sessions a total of 7 1/2 hrs I think. Second session I was on time ;) Connor starts a stop watch when he begins and shows you. That's when the charging begins , and stops the stop watch immediately when he's done , and shows you as well. I thought that was very cool of him and all ships should do that. The artist is very skilled, and the tattoo I asked him to make was far below his talents. But that's what I wanted--something simple, elegant to show my religious preference. I recently got a half-sleeve at Ying's. The studio is nice with great décor and the experience went very well. I like a quiet atmosphere and this studio is that. Initial consultation with Ying and Carson to discuss my vision for what I wanted. Carson created a great art piece from my idea and sent for my review about a week later. They worked with me on a couple minor adjustments along with a mock-up "fitting". The work was spread over several sessions, and every visit was greeted with the same professionalism, including a revision to one element (to change size and placement) at the start of the second session. Carson did a fabulous job creating a realism image with mountain, forest, water, and horse elements. They also did a review and touch-up about a month after the last session, to ensure that everything was settling and healing well. I love how the tattoo turned out and will definitely go back to Ying's for future work. I've always wanted to get a tattoo of my dogs, but I hesitated for a long time because of three main concerns: (1) the fear of not being able to handle the pain, (2) the worry that my skin might react with allergies or scars, and most importantly, (3) the fear of not finding an artist skilled enough to capture the adorable details of my dogs because tattoos are permanent. While I could research the first two concerns on my own, finding a great tattoo artist required not just research but a bit of luck. After browsing through many portfolios and reviews, I was fortunate enough to come across Ying's Tattoo, and I have to say, I couldn't be happier with my decision. I have two beloved dogs, a 10-year-old Great Pyrenees named Congcong and an 11-year-old Maltipoo named Duoduo. They're healthy and happy, despite their age, and I wanted to carry their image with me forever. After thorough research on social media, I found this incredible artist and decided to book an appointment two months in advance. I traveled from out of state specifically for this session. I wanted a realistic black-and-grey tattoo of both dogs covering the outside of my upper arm. The goal was to capture every detail, making it as lifelike as possible. When I arrived at the studio at 10 am, we immediately began discussing the design. I had a hard time choosing reference photos because I love my dogs so much, so I showed the artist my entire photo album! With great patience and efficiency, the artist asked about my dogs' breeds, personalities, typical expressions, and behaviors. After narrowing down the selection, he quickly created a few potential designs. Once we finalized the design, the artist printed it out to scale, placed it on my arm to adjust the positioning, and then transferred the stencil onto my skin. After a brief break, we began the tattoo process. Over the next 9 hours and 11 minutes, the artist skillfully worked with different needle sizes to create a stunningly detailed portrait of my dogs. The process involved three main steps: first, outlining the basic shapes with medium-thick lines; then, filling in the details with needles of varying thicknesses, from dark to light shades; and finally, adding highlights with white ink for extra depth. The artist's dedication was incredible - he remained focused throughout the entire session. As for the results, they speak for themselves. You can see the individual layers of fur, the fluffiness of Congcong's face, and even the slight glint in his eyes that shows his confident, yet sweet personality. Duoduo's more recent picture shows her serious expression after her dad said, "Duoduo, mom is getting you tattooed, sit nicely for the photo!" The tattoo captures even the tiniest details, like the curl of her fur and the little speck of her nose. When I sent the photos to my hubby, we both felt an overwhelming sense of joy, and cried like babies. I can't express how grateful I am to have found this tattoo artist. It feels like my dogs are now with me forever, and I'm beyond happy with the result! For anyone considering a tattoo here, I'd like to share a few tips: 1. Listen to the artist's advice and make sure you get a good night's sleep and a big meal before your appointment, as it helps with managing the pain. 2. Bring something to distract yourself during the process (like a phone) because it's a long session, and you might get sleepy. 3. Try not to chat with the artist too much during the tattoo; they need to focus on their work. 4. Aftercare is important, especially if you're not from Seattle - follow the instructions closely to avoid needing touch-ups. Pain-wise: black ink hurts less than color ink, with a ratio of about 1:4. As for placement, the outer upper arm hurts less than the inner arm or shoulder, with a pain ratio of about 1:1.5:2. I feel incredibly lucky to have found this amazing artist! UPDATE: The owner of the studio reached out to my boyfriend, VERY apologetic about the entire interaction stating that her and the artist were both "under lots of stress" and that the outburst from the artist was not appropriate. They offered to apologize to us personally and give us our original ideas for free in compensation for the bad interaction. We politely declined as the whole interaction left a bad taste in our mouths. ORIGINAL POST: My family was looking to get matching tattoos, and we found this studio. After getting the first stencil on, one of us wanted adjustments because we all agreed that the tattoo stencil was crooked. We raised the concern to the artist, as this is something permanent and we want it to be perfect. They responded by complaining to each other in mandarin, stating that we are "being so annoying" and that "asian customers are the most bothersome". After trying to work with them despite being rude and repeating belittling comments in mandarin, my boyfriend let the pair know that we have heard them the entire time being rude to us, and still attempted to explain the exact adjustment, as this was a special tattoo and we wanted to get it. We immediately were met with the artist yelling in my boyfriend's face, saying "OH SO YOU UNDERSTAND ME HUH? The human body isn't symmetrical and the tattoo won't be perfect!". He then started pointing in my boyfriend's face, stating that "we don't want customers like you!" and making all of us feel uncomfortable and threatened. So I walked by this little shop several times. at first I got a attract by those tattoo but I wasn't wanting get any tattoo. from the curiosity,I walk in , it's a really sweet shops .I got a consult with the piercer because at first I want to get a dermal piercing on my lower back however after consulting with her she explain like that could leave a scar on my lower back cuz the results is not permanent. And also she's told me she don't feel comfortable to put jewelry into my body,if she know that's gonna fall off eventually so I change my mind instead I got a piercing on my ear bone .she did it so fast ,very professional .she know what she's doing . after that does she give me a little handbook and tell me how to take care of it they only has those basic Jewel so if you want something special you might have to heal up your piercing then put the jewelry you like on there yeah that's pretty much abour irat the whole experiment was like surprisingly good and then I was planning to get a tattoo done soon.
