Got a great tattoo from Mike in Lansdale, a year ago! Business moved to Doylestown so I called to get another tattoo, was told they would call me back!!! Never got a call ,so I called back 3 days later, was told he had all my info, would call me back!!! Never heard from anyone!!! Worked out well, found a GREAT tattoo shop in Lansdale!!! This place doesn't cease to amaze me-- I came to Lee (5150leelee on Instagram) with a picture of a tattoo I got in my early teens from a friend that I wanted to get covered up with a traditional rose. She was highly recommended to me by a friend, but I wasn't expecting this outcome. She did everything I wanted and more, in the size I wanted. She worked on the cover-up piece in her own time, so it would be perfect when I came in. Nobody can tell there was ever anything underneath. She changed the music in the shop to something I wanted to play, and talked to me throughout the whole appointment. There's also an ATM inside-- super nice feature. What an amazing walk in experience! My friends and I came in on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky enough to be able to get three different tattoos back to back. Everyone here was incredibly friendly, we instantly felt so welcomed despite how busy it was. Lee was especially wonderful! I've been tattooed by Dani (@daniwilsonart on IG) thrice and I would have done way more tattoos with her had I not moved away! She is such a cool artist with amazing skills and ideas, and just as equally enthusiastic and welcoming towards my own ideas, too. Dani has a super light-hand which made getting tattooed on my calf way easier than it really could've been for me considering how sensitive I am. I've been more than amazed at each piece she's given me as each one has incredible linework and coloring. I've also been tattooed by Lee (@5150lee on IG) when she was first started tattooing as an apprentice and I love the tattoo I got from her and I wish I had been tattooed by her again before leaving as her skill has absolutely skyrocketed. My husband has also been tattooed at Jackson Street by Jose (@roarshak on IG) twice and his tattoos are awesome! Jackson Street is a super clean, welcoming environment with really awesome artists that are so good at what they do. Their prices are awesome, you are paying a good price for a good tattoo. My sister and I were looking for a place to get a tattoo together when I came to visit her in Seattle this past week. We were anxious to find a location that would take us with a tattoo artist we could trust. Came in with my fiancé for her to get a tattoo and while the tattoo came out fine, the tattoo artist that did it, was very rude. Came off rude in beginning when I asked if I could come back with her and then I simple asked for change for a $20 to tip the guy and he gave attitude. Yesterday I spontaneously decided to get my 5th tattoo w/ little to no planning. I hastily looked around to see where I could possibly go for a tattoo & I ended up coming across Jackson Street Tattoo Company. Within an hour, they were able to help assist me w/ my tattoo. I worked w/ Dani & she was able to create a template of my design which took about an hour. After she was done setting up & ensuring I was satisfied w/ the placement & size, we went straight into it. It took less than an hour to finish, & once when it was all done I was happy w/ the overall quality. Called for a drop in with a friend for finger tats we've been wanting for years - and finally had time to go together. She told us that it was fine and to come in. We walked from downtown which was cool but.. anyways. We have back pieces and multiple arm and neck tattoos. The gal working (1:15 3/23 today) basically discriminated us against not being able to see our tattoos "our artists don't do finger tattoos for people who don't have full sleeves". I can't say enough positive things about my experience here. I was lucky enough to wander in when Abby had some time for a walk-in. She was receptive of my ideas, respectful, and honest with answers to all my questions. I asked her to change things a couple times (design, positioning, etc.) and she was SO gracious and made me feel really comfortable despite having just met her not an hour before. I have around a dozen tattoos and I can tell you, not all artists are as patient and as kind as she is. She has a gentle touch, was quick with her work, but very precise and detailed. Most importantly, I LOVE the work she did and how she captured exactly what I was imagining with nothing more than a reference photo and a short conversation. 10/10 would recommend going to her, I will definitely be returning when I'm ready for my next piece. The shop is clean and is interesting to look at. Cool atmosphere. I got my 5th and smallest tattoo here and the experience was just "meh." My artist's name was Vic and he was super personable and easy to talk to, although he seemed like he was in a rush the entire time. He explained that the shop minimum was $100, which I was expecting because the shop is in Seattle. I was told that I couldn't get the wording added with my tattoo because he would have to make the words way too large... I was surprised because I already have a tattoo with similar wording, but I appreciated the fact that he let me know that he wasn't comfortable tattooing lettering that small instead of just trying it when he was unsure. Anyway, the tattoo I got took no longer than 15 minutes from start to finish... meaning from getting the stencil put on to getting the bandage applied (5 min of actual tattooing...and yes, I timed it). I ended up getting charged $120 not including tip, which I was surprised by because of how small and quick the tattoo was. It's only $20, but I was irked at that point, so I paid and headed home. When I got to take a closer look at the tattoo, I noticed some lines were wonky and one portion of the tattoo had thicker lines than the rest. You can tell that the needle he used creates thicker lines, which is probably why he didn't want to do the lettering I initially wanted. It's still not completely healed yet, so I'll update my review if it heals better than I expect it to. Again, this is my 5th and smallest tattoo, so I'm familiar with how tattoos should be looking at this point... doesn't look promising. I'll probably have my usual tattoo artist fix it as much as possible and also add the elements that I wanted in the first place. Update: Healed well, but the lines are wonky. Small blow outs on the inner portion of the tattoo, which is probably due to the fact that it's the inner wrist and the skin is thinner, which can be difficult for inexperienced artists. read more

Used the Jackson Street Tattoo website to reach out to an artist. I received a reply a few days later and set up an appointment for my birthday which was a few weeks later. I met up with the artist after some emails back and forth to pay my deposit ($100) and ask for an actual art consultation where I would see this art BEFORE the appointment; I was told that'd be more than ok. The night before the appointment, a rather late (10:30 pm) email cancelation came through with a plausible excuse. I was told I could be "squeezed in" before this artist's international travels. Now, with no appointment and no artwork to speak of, I hear back after 3 days of silence. I get a promise of seeing artwork "tomorrow" and that I can be seen "sometime after 5:30". I never see any artwork the day after. I had to call in to the shop the day of the replacement appointment (15min before 5:30) to see if I should still show up only to be asked who I was and what we were working on again. I suggest moving the appointment to the following day and receive a barely compliant "sure". I decide afterwards that the replacement replacement appointment won't actually work and ask for my deposit back. I was issued my refund later that day. Best things about MY Jackson Street Tattoo Experience: - their website was a good way to spark communication between you and an artist - PayPal for transferring money back to me after zero services were rendered - writing this review. If I was willing to pay $180/hr for what I consider, only from what I've seen online, to be great work, I'd like to think there are some brains behind the operation; at the very least some enjoyment. Communication shouldn't be hard, period. If you can't fit someone in or you just don't feel like tattooing, just say something. read more

I am so grateful I found this place! Heidi is an amazing artist. Her line work can't be beat. She has an amazing way with color. On a technicality she rates up there with the best. In terms of professionalism and personability, I she makes the whole experience pleasant and comfortable. She fosters a sense of trust and really delivers. Her prices are very reasonable especially when considering skill level. Though I have never received a tattoo from Mike, I can say from the art that I have seen him produce that he is amazing as well. I have gotten two out of my four tattoos done here and I'm always really happy with the atmosphere, the artists and the final results. Mike did my first tattoo here of two birds and was really great at making sure it didn't come out cartoony, especially since it's a tattoo representing my grandparents. I did have to sit up for the tattoo which was a little hard because it was on the back of my shoulder, but now they have a table that you can lay down on so things are much more comfortable now. Heidi did my most recent tattoo of some berries on my wrist and it is definitely one of my favorites. it is very realistic and she was really nice the whole time, especially since I am a little bit of a whimp (I'm on of those crazy face people) and my fingers kept twitching from the tendon movements (she actually explained what was happening and it became a giant joke). The whole staff is very nice about having other people sit with clients and are conversational which helps keep your mind off the pain. There is always some great classic rock playing and the shop is not FILLED with a million people so its really relaxing (besides the needle stabbing of course).
