Bottom line, they're super nice, the products are good, and they're actually competitive on price too. In long Across a couple locations, they've been one of the main places I've shopped for pet stuff the last 20 years. There was a time when I'd get food at other places when I saw a lower price, but the dry stuff I get my cats now is actually cheaper here than most places. This week I came in for a bag of kibble that I paid for online. Their website occasionally has a bug that triggers your purchase at a different store, even if you re-save your local branch as "your" store. They were super cheerful about fixing it and squared it away in under 5 minutes. Another guy had a big friendly mutt in with him while I was waiting, and here's where you see MB doing its thing--they offer treats, gush over your fur baby, and make a point of remember your dog's name next time you come in. They want you to know they work there because they love animals, too. Nice touch. The way they merchandise everything is really nice for some reason--bit sturdy free-standing tables and shelves, usually you can see under around just about everything. Polished concrete floors. All easy to clean, very pet-friendly. They have every little thing you can imagine--beds, collars, food and water dishes, not just food. They have every kind of wet and dry food, too, and probably some natural stuff (I didn't look). Pets go through enough food that I am a pretty price-driven shopper, and these guys have come back into the rotation for me thanks to their pricing. But they really care, too--our little dog is a picky eater, and they have kept track of everything she has tried, and finally found stuff she'll eat enough of that she actually got half a pound *over* her goal weight. They're really great here.

We mostly frequent the Monroe store and have been to the (much smaller) Redmond Ridge store a few times, but this was the first time we tried the Everett location. This is a relatively new Evereett location, Sam's having moved here from a previous location in Everett that had been open several years. This is the old Trader Joe's space in Everett, and it works well for Sam's. It's also Sam's largest location. The selection is impressive, and the quality and range of items carried are perfect. They have some hard-to-find superb pet food brands, as well as others that are a step up from grocery store food but not on that top tier. This is intentional. I know because Sam told me they want to ensure everyone can feed, entertain, and care for their pets regardless of their means. (Did you know they distribute any returned food to food banks and that you can return food if your pet does not like it.) So, yes, I had the pleasure of finally meeting the Sam (Sam Wirsching) behind the name. If you've ever seen Sam's flyers for Santa photos for your pets at Christmas, Sam is Santa (and a perfect-looking one at that). He was extremely humble, friendly, and exceptionally helpful and knowledgable. I was impressed, and it made our family's loyalty to this place increase. Sam's isn't fancy, but it carries top-tier brands. Think of it as a much larger Mud Bay without any pretentiousness. And it has great customer service, even offering free delivery of orders. We love Sam's Cats & Dogs Naturally. Though we will continue to primarily frequent the Monroe store, we would frequent this location if it was the one closest to us. All three locations are great.

For me it's especially simple since I live almost walking distance. There goes my budget...they have online shopping and local delivery and wife has our car and it's just Tootsie and me home.

The little brat, despite being rather large *cough obese cough whale cough* and a much feared big bad pit bull at that, is petrified of mommy's little nail clippers. So I did a little google search, "how to cut little brat pitbulls long nails" and found nothing at all helpful, me just as I was about to give up all hope- i found it, the perfect solution to my tedious problem. I found a short clip of a woman who also has a brat with long nails, and she ingeniously wrapped her own head with shrink wrap of a sort, and then smeared peanut butter all over her shrink wrapped head, and her little bratty butt dog licked and licked away, while genius mommy took the moment of distraction to do the job. So I took off down the road to my neighborhood pet store, About Pets. And although, I did not return with peanut butter or shrink wrap, I did find a snuffle mat with a clever detachable silicone slab with grooves in it, AND suction cups, perfect for the dreaded and much feared bath day events of mine. Totally awesome. Anyway, none of that was important, but I felt the background details would be pleasant incase another Yelper has big bad scarcdy cats with such anxieties alike. But anyway x2, this locally owned pet store is great. Love it. The man behind the pet shoppe, Nole, freakin genius himself too. Real terrific guy. Know his stuff, very knowledgeable about pets. Quite opinionated, and I love an opinionated person. Prices are aligned with terrible big chain pet stores like you know who, whose name doesn't need naming on this 5 star pet shop review for ABOUT PETS, haha. He doesn't carry garbage either, he's got something for every price point, but he doesn't waste his shelf space with crap, which is totally appreciated as well. Lots of cute dog sweaters (size inclusive for every body type), and little pet genius snack puzzles (from level 1 derpy dog, to level 3 scholar dog) , and nutritious treats (inclusive for all skinny minis and fattybrattys alike) , and oh yes- suction cup snuffle snack mats with detachable silicone peanut butter lick mat. So kudos again Nole. You are (P)awesome (hahahahahah)

For those unaware, Mud Bay price matches, and for those on a budget (and who's not in 2026), know that MB carries foods that are extremely affordable in addition to hyper-premium foods. Rest assured, regardless of the price of the food, if MB carries it, it's vetted and high quality. My personal favorite thing about Mud Bay, and why I'm leaving this review, is the people. This was my first visit to this Mill Creek store. I'm dog sitting and needed some treats, so of course I pulled up 5 mins before they closed. That wasn't a problem. The two gals working, Amalia and Laura, were beyond incredible. Both women knew a ton about the products I asked about and got me taken care of at my speed. More importantly, they both seemed to truly love their jobs, pets, and people. If I lived in Mill Creek, this would be the only pet store I'd shop. Once again, well done Mud Bay!
