Potstickers served smashed.
M. P.

Ate here today. Absolutely horrible potstickers and shu mi. What happened? The potstickers arrived all busted open and looked like they were fried in a pan filled with burnt pieces of previously cooked potstickers. Hard to accurately describe but disgusting. Each one fell apart when I moved them from the serving dish to my plate. Very limited filling and not much flavor at all. The shu mi were over cooked and seemingly previously frozen. Again, horrible. Believe me when I say that I have had literally hundreds of Yet Wah potstickers and these are the worst I've had here or anywhere in the world. Additionally my friend and I both had two fountain Cokes that arrived in very small glasses. We asked for refills halfway through our lunch. When we got the check we were charged for four Cokes )$11.00). I complained that they have never charged me for refills at Yet Wah. She a said the always have, and refused to adjust the bill. This place is absolutely not recommended and I will not return.

Nice room for a banquet or family gathering.

Yet Wah is a nice quiet place with delicious food and great service on 4th street in San Rafael.

Butterfly shrimp - I guess.
Mark Anthony J.

Wow! I saw the name Yet Wash and was reminded of the great Chinese food they served in Crockett. Apparently they have been reduced to heat & eat, dry flavorless food now. I got the Szechuan chicken and butterfly shrimp. The chicken was dry and almost appeared to be left over from an earlier order. The shrimp looked like they got them at Costco and just heated them up and added some SS sauce on the side. Disappointed in what was a great name in Chinese food.

Receipt

My wife and I were disappointed during our last two visits after first coming here in 2010. I remember Yet Wah was highly rated and crowded. It seems now there are fewer and fewer patrons the past couple of years. My last visit was a disaster. Yet Wah does not have the delicious food that my wife and I had before. This is not the restaurant that I used to know, look forward to, and enjoy. The house won ton soup was over-salted and downsized to more vegetables and less wontons than in previous orders. The moo shu pork was overloaded with bean sprouts and cabbage while the pancakes were brittle and dry, difficult to fold, more like a thin tortilla. The pork chow mein had too much soy sauce and was greasy. These were horrible Chinese-American dishes. There was not much service. With only one other party and no crowd on a Sunday morning, the server simply delivered the dishes and went away. I hope the restaurant carefully consider my and others' reviews and quickly improve what was once a very good restaurant.

Indoor Patel dining with full bar and indoor cafe.

Good food and service. And where else can you get lemon chicken at 11:45pm. Underrated spot, so sad they're closing in August.

The place is substandard. Compared to what It used to be. The decor and service used to be good but the COVID era wrecked everything.

While it used to be an amazing value, post Covid, it's a good value. Their rolls are fantastic; their 'Crab Specials' are to die for! super friendly team! show up twice and they'll know your name. Not to put off the sushi snobs, but they also serve Chinese food. I think it's about the best chinese food in San Rafael, though San Rafael does not set a high bar. Go check them out. I also had lemon chicken and beef and broccoli. I expected the lemon chicken to be similar to sweet and sour chicken/pork or orange chicken where the batter/outside is fried and crispy and the chicken/pork in the center is seasoned and tender. The batter/outside was for lack of a better word "soggy" but the saucy was lemon forward with a slight tang. I'll rate it a 5/10. The beef and broccoli had a strong ginger flavor that I was a fan of, so I would rate it a 2/10. The service was fast and attentive and the restaurant itself is average not fancy and not rundown. I've already visited again and my opinion has not changed.

San Rafael 4th street has a lot to offer - and it's worth checking these spots out. The storefront is inviting and the inside of the restaurant is clean and well organized and appointed. I was efficiently approached by wait staff and felt welcomed I ordered Pad Woon Sen, which I've never before tried. It didn't appear like they have AC, since all the doors were open. This restaurant looks new on the outside, but looks "old-school" on the inside. The only thing missing was.....chopsticks on the table. I ordered: -Tomato Beef Chow Mein, $15.95, serves two. Very good Tomato Beef Chow Mein. Every piece of beef was tender and easy to eat. The chunks of tomato, bell pepper and onion were in small bite sized pieces. Perfect for eating with chopsticks. The sauce was tangy and lightly sweet. What was missing was the "Wok Hei." Aka...."the breath of the Wok," it's the unique smoky aroma that adds a special flavor to stir fry food. - Salt & Pepper Fried Chicken Wings, $17.95, 9 wings. To be clear, these are "flats." Fresh, juicy, and fried crispy good. Seasoned in coarse salt, chili pepper and onion. My waiter/server gave me a small dish of chili oil to enhance the heat level. Overall, a nice first time experience.....4-stars. On 12/24/25, we couldn't get through their regular phone number quite a few times due to a busy signal. We then placed a Door Dash order at 4:50pm. After the app updating the delivery time several times, the order was suddenly "cancelled by the restaurant." We were really looking forward to our dinner for two hours, so you can imagine our disappointment and scrambling for alternatives on Christmas Eve. We did receive a refund for the exact amount that was charged to the credit card. We had decided to try the restaurant again on 12/31/25. Again, we couldn't get through. So I went in person to place the order to ask why the restaurant cancelled our 12/24/25 order. I've never heard of a confirmed order being cancelled before. They said they "cancel Door Dash orders at 6:30pm. A lot of people were disappointed, too." I said but we had placed our order at 4:50pm. I couldn't understand his reasoning. We decided to never use them again. Despite our terrible inconvenience and decision to never dine here again, we decided to place an order today 12/31/25 at 4:19pm for pick-up in person, so I could ask in person what happened on 12/24/25. They said today's order would take 25-30 minutes. It was ready at 4:37pm. That was redeemable, but we still don't understand what happened on 12/24:25 and don't feel confident that it will never happen again. So I imagine the lesson learned is beware of placing Door Dash orders at this restaurant! See photos for proof of our experience.
