Yen's has been my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Palm Beach County since the first time I went there. It's got really hearty, flavorful, amazing food, it's quirky and cute, and it's just a great place to hang out with friends and get a bite to eat. I can't think of a single bite or sip that I didn't thoroughly enjoy - the food is always consistently getting better and better. The jicama rolls and mix summer rolls are appetizers that you wish were the size of entrees - they're juicy, light, and the peanut sauce packs some heat with a few chilis mixed in. My absolutely favorite small bite, though, has to be the green papaya salad. It tastes so much more fresh than any other papaya salad I've tried. When I'm not feeling like a huge meal, the papaya salad is where it's at! The pho has been good since day one, but over time, the broth's flavor keeps deepening, the cuts of meat (I usually get beef brisket) keep getting higher in quality, and noodles - whether you choose the fresh pho noodles or signature noodles are always chewy and plentiful. The crepes are amazingly fluffy, hearty (with any meat or tofu you get), and every bite is more scrumptious than the last. The drinks, though, are one of the things that make this place unique. They have everything under the sun - I've tried the calamondin iced tea, lychee iced tea, matcha iced milk tea, and my absolute go-to drink -- the corn milk. It's creamy and tastes like... well, corn - exactly like you're drinking liquified sweet corn kernels. It could be a dessert, but it also perfectly balances the heat of everything else I usually order. And the desserts - oh, the desserts! I don't know what exactly I've tried. Since I'm not very familiar with Vietnamese desserts, I usually just ask for whatever the server thinks is the best in the case, and I've never been let down. Don't understand the high rating at all. Of all the viet places I tried they had the worst food. The meat is all dry and has no flavor. The chicken they put in their sandwich is not grilled, it's just dry steamed white meat with no flavor. The customer service is lacking. Really there's nothing good about this place. read more

Yelp find! I have a holiday party in the area and decided to make it a staycay since I live pretty far away. I did some Yelp research before I headed out and decided on Yen's Kitchen. As soon as I entered I was greeted with a welcome and a smile! The tables inside were pretty full but I wanted to sit outside and enjoy the glorious day it turned into! The gentleman told me there was a qr on each table. I grabbed my seat and checked out the menu. It is a little bit different than what I saw online-it had MORE options! I decided on the Supreme pho and a lychee ice tea. As a waited, shortly I must add, the outside tables began to fill. This is clearly a popular place. My tea arrived and it was refreshing and delicious. It wasn't overly sweet, yay! My dish arrived along with various condiments. I enjoy a copious amount of basil and I was awarded! The pho was tasty and seasoned well, not too salty. As I enjoyed my meal I observed the same gentleman greeting other customers and even heard him tell a few, "It's great to see you again!" Yen's Kitchen is located in a large and older plaza but next to the International Foods market. I've been wanting to try their food for a while but it's a little out my way. I'm glad I tried it though as I will be going back this week! I brought two friends and we were a little confused when discussing. It turns out 2 of us had Vietnamese only menus and 1 of us had an English one. We didn't know until we tried to order and had lots of questions. The server took our order on a tablet and at the end we paid on the tablet as well. We decided to try one of their specials that they had for the month, as well as two noodle soup bowls, and an appetizer. The noodle soups had an option of homemade noodles but they were like $3 extra. I had passed. The noodles that it came with were great! We liked EVERYTHING we ordered. The only feedback I have is that when we asked for water, the waitress told us to get bottled water from the fridge. I am guessing they don't have free tap water for the table. They also provided us with plastic ware but we asked for silverware which they did provide. read more

One of my favorites in the area! My husband and I order from here very often for lunch and can easily get 2 to 3 meals out of each portion. I always get the summer rolls as they are my favorite. The peanut sauce for dipping is outstanding. A little bit sweet a little bit spicy. They always get the fresh made noodles as it definitely taste better. The flavor is so bold and delicious and all the ingredients are very fresh. We've eaten there once in person and it was a nice clean restaurant. Had to come back and give this place another shot and I'm glad we did, the young man who assisted us with taking our order was super fun and bubbly, his energy could fill a room and he was very informative. Food was very good and seasoned great, only complaint was they were out of fresh made pho noodles but I'll live, LOL. Smoothies were yummy and they had fresh pennyworth with was a great bonus. Even more amazing-er? I'm not sure that's a word, but, for Yen's Kitchen, it qualifies. Their menu only gets better. They're debuting AMAZING fish sauce wings, double fried, with a sweet garlic chip-crusted skin that's the most unique flavor that I've tried in Palm Beach County. The steamed bun was off-the-chain! Pork, egg, and other amazing bits. The savory sausage sticky rice was also top-notch! The best summer rolls and pho soup in the county! The meat was perfect in the pho. Loved the fresh noodles too. I moved to Los Angeles five years ago and come back to visit often, but I just discovered this spot--and wow, I wish it had been here when I lived here! Now, every time I'm in town, I make it a point to stop by. The food is incredible--authentic Vietnamese dishes that remind me of the places I love down south. I don't mind driving an hour for great food, and this place is absolutely worth it! Plus, the owner is so friendly. Which is a love and hate relationship because you feel limited and wish you could order it anytime and any day. But the thing that's alway on the menu is the pho. Twenty pho sevennnn. It was good. I came in because I was craving some Asain food. I came on a Saturday so the special was the L1. Spicy Beef Vermicelli XL Soup/Bn B Hu. I wouldn't say it was XL but it was enough to fill me up and feeling pretty full. I also got the Vietnamese coffee. It was very strong. I loved it. I came in and was seated right away, by the owner himself. He took my order and was super nice. I saw that they had Chinese's donuts so I asked for it but the owner said it was made only for the Sunday special but he was going to check to see if they had any because they were prepping for tomorrow. He came back and said that they did have some, so I ordered it with my soup. And let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! I was super grateful to the owner. The flavor of the broth was very light and clean. It had plentiful of variety of different meats in the soup which I liked. The coffee and the donut was the star of the show. It's so disappointing, we use to go to Yen's Kitchen a lot. But lately the food has not been the same. I usually get the lotus salad, and the shrimp crackers came out stale. We asked to get new ones but the one girl that was there told us that they were still good and edible, I make shrimp crackers at home so I know what stale looks like, another server told her to give us new ones. The Soi man was not good at all, it seems like they didn't cook it through. I don't think we are going back, they use to be so good. read more

Run over as fast as you can to try this restaurant! They offer a selection of Vietnamese food that you cannot find at another Vietnamese food establishment. Food was authentic, delicious with great presentation and very modern, clean but cultured ambiance. You can tell there is a lot of passion for the food and establishment. We loved everything we ordered. But I have to say we both agreed that the banh cuon and cha gio were our absolute favorite. As a bonus there's freshly made prepared food that can be picked up from either the counter or fridge. Yesterday, with a friend I had lunch at Yên's Kitchen and was very disappointed. First, they insisted I try their Jasmine tea. I ordered it because I love aromatic herbal teas. However, when it arrived, it was basically just yellowish cold water! I'm not joking. Then I ordered the Shaking Beef Steak, which was supposed to be a higher quality meat. While it looked good when served, the steak pieces were extremely hard to chew, like rubber--impossible to get your teeth into! I could barely cut them with the plastic knife provided and only managed to eat a few pieces. While I was there, I promised myself I wouldn't return. We had a very good lunch here today on the day of their official grand opening. It was quite busy. And I'm sure they will do well here. It's a family business. You order from Mon who types your name and number and food selections into his iPad. His mom, Yen, is the chef; and his sister is assisting in the kitchen. Mon was nice enough to introduce me to them. After ordering you find a seat and they bring your food to you. There are a few tables inside plus seating outside. Or you can do takeout. We began by sharing a shrimp summer roll. It was tightly wrapped in the rice paper with shrimp and crunchy veggies that we dipped in their slightly spicy peanut sauce. A perfect starter. My husband tried their grilled pork banh mi sandwich. On crusty French bread, the sandwich had flavorful tender pork and all the traditional crunchy veggies. He poured over it the sweet vinegary sauce. I had their crepe pancake with a mix of pork and shrimp and lots of bean sprouts. It came with lettuce, basil, cilantro on the side. You're supposed to wrap it in the lettuce, but I like it plain. I added some hoisin sauce to use as a dip instead of the traditional vinegar. I'm sure we will be back. Even on a Grand Opening Day, this place remained Covid compliant (they have several outside tables as well) and still served some fantastic food! Ordering while maintaining social Distancing, our order was taken efficiently and fast. Everything we ordered was delivered by a smiling and friendly server as soon as it came from the kitchen. MON was taking orders and was very patient with every customer, explaining each dish as needed. Our Summer rolls were wonderful and refreshing! My Grilled pork Banh mi was full of veggies and lots of wonderfully grilled pork slices. I ordered a lime aide which had the sweetness and tartness balance just perfect. Between customers MON checked on us to ensure we were enjoying everything. As we finished our meals, my wife asked Mon who the owner was. I have bookmarked this place on my Yelp and IG for the longest time and finally I am able to pay this place a visit. I have to say, the wait was worth it! This is a small little authentic Vietnamese restaurant who sells banh mi, pho and a bunch of vietnamese dishes. They also offer authentic drinks such as Vietnamese coffee and tea. I ordered a broken rice platter and ice coffee, both were excellent! The service in this establishment is also amazing, the wait staff and manager (?) all checked on my multiple times while dining there today. Excellent customer service! I had the unfortunate luck of attempting to come here on a Thursday. Don't be me, they are closed on that day. But I am glad I returned. The location is in a very unsuspecting strip mall. The inside doesn't look like a restaurant. And there is very limited indoor seating. They do play current music so the vibe is nice. There is plenty of outdoor seating available. The food and price are perfect. Nothing expensive. I had the tofu pho and the berry limeade. Delicious. I wasn't really feeling the addition of the pepper to my pho but it didn't take anything away. The broth was on point. The drink was handmade. Very unique touch. The bàhn mí also did not disappoint. It was so good I didn't even get a picture. One thing I didn't like is there no instructions on how to order. You just kinda walk in and have to figure it out.
