Had such great potential but there were so many issues. The crab dip has zero crab in it. It's just cheese. The wings were good. The sandwich was good. The buffalo shrimp wrap had zero shrimp in half of the wrap and limited shrimp on the other side. The service was terribly slow and we were forgotten about after being seated and while waiting for drink refills. This was after waiting about 30 mins with only one party ahead of us. I will give credit where it is due- they tried to make it better by making us shrimp for the wrap but the experience was just so bad by that point the whole meal was ruined. The only time we got service at all when when my husband flagged down another server to get our server. When trying to tell the manager about the issue she was too busy tending the bar to stop and take time to listen to my husband's complaints. I'm obsessed with this place. My favorite is when it's raining. The whole place is indoor/outdoor, so you can sit and just watch the water and the weather. The food is phenomenal and so is the service. It's such a local, hole in the wall kinda place. Absolutely love it. read more

We had high hopes for this spot based on the location and things I've heard from others. Unfortunately it did not deliver. The atmosphere is good - seafood place on the water and the views match. The menu has a bit of an eclectic vibe, seafood, but with an edge to it. Example was the shrimp basket. They went their own way on this one and delivered a spicy coating that was heavier than normal and crunchy. It was ok, just not delightful. The fish tacos were similar, with the aoli too strong and overpowering with garlic. Maybe it wasn't cooked down enough or I just got a clump of it but it was over the top. Being a 61- year customer of the Yellowfin's next door mother ship, the Sanitary, I sometimes pass it by because of tradition. But you should not. This is my second time in Moorehead city and coming here for lunch. Fresh food made pretty fast. We got the tuna nachos. Yummy and super fresh. Only criticism is to cut the tuna in smaller cubes so you can eat with more of the nachos which there was plenty of. We also got the blackened catch of the day tacos. Both were so delicious. Everyone is super friendly and the food is fairly priced for the portion size. Not sure why they don't have at least a 4.5 star. This is definitely now a staple for my bf and I and we are both foodies. read more

My wife and I had lunch today at the Yellowfin pub. We live locally and had not been here in a few months. Most of the time we go for the pleasant atomsphere and views. The food was just ok. The staff seemed overloaded and we only saw our waitress twice. Once when she took our order and when we paid. Super meh experience. The blonde hostess took our name and told us it would be about 20 minutes. Stood at the bar to wait. Saw a couple of parties who came behind us get sat. Eventually after waiting 40 minutes, we said something to her. Basically it seemed she just forgot about us, even though we were literally 10 feet away from at her at the bar the whole time and she made eye contact with us dozens of times. She did apologize but it was really frustrating nonetheless that we waited so long for no reason. Eventually we were sat about 820 after arriving at 730. Food was okay, nothing special. The tuna nachos were the best of the dishes we tried. Our waitress was nice, but once our food was delivered she never checked on us (we desperately wanted old bay but never saw her again until the food was gone). Food is slipping. Flounder sandwich was very fishy and fried shrimp had too much seasoning. They brought salad with the wrong dressing and we inquired when we got it and told them we thought it was wrong. We didn't eat it and ask them to remove it from the bill and wanted to argue. Terrible service. After waiting for 20 minutes after ordering, our waiter gave our drinks to the table next to us. 5 minutes after that he came to our table to ask what drinks we ordered. Another 7 minutes go by and we finally receive our drinks just before our appetizer arrived. Glad that we only ordered the app because we finished that and our drinks, then waited another 12 minutes before heading to the front to try to pay because our waiter was MIA and we were getting sunburned. If you do decide to eat here, make sure to slather on the sunscreen and wear your sunglasses because you'll likely be sitting in the direct sun for well over an hour. Now I would completely understand if they were slammed and he was running between tables but multiple times we saw him just standing around. Our waiter never came to check on us, refill our water, or apologize for the drink mix up. This was not the first time we've tried to eat here and had a bad experience, hence the review. I understand everyone has their off days but this is a trend of bad service. A damn shame because the food is pretty good. read more

I ate lunch at the Yellowfin Pub on a Sunday afternoon. The view was nice from our table as we could watch the boats coming in and out. I ordered the fish tacos which came with pasta salad. The fish tacos were deliscious, but the pasta salad was a little dry and lacked flavor. We also ordered the herb truffle fries as an appetizer. These too left me disappointed, especially at $9. I didn't taste any truffle sauce and not much herbs, mostly just tasted like regular fries. The cheese on top was a bit dehydrated. We had a very friendly waitress! And when she was busy, as she was also bartending, the other waitress checked in on us. Service was a five star! I walked upstairs as I wanted to check out the view and it was spectacular! Since it was Sunday they had a bloody mary special for $6 each. This was their own twist on a bloody Mary and it was delicious! I would go back to Yellowfin for drinks and the view, but I'm not sure I would eat here again. read more

We stayed in close proximity to this restaurant and tried it on a Friday afternoon. The location is great and the staff was friendly, but very rushed. Our server was sweet and was working very hard to take care of several tables. I ordered the pimiento BLT and my husband ordered one of the oven finished sandwiches, we each ordered pasta salad as a side. The sandwiches were underwhelming, as they are served on simple (thin) white bread and I feel like it was lightly toasted , at best...certainly not what you might consider as oven finished. Neither sandwich had much flavor. We had to ask the waitress to bring us some italian dressing as the pasta salad came out dry. We wondered if it had sat in the fridge for too many days or did someone forget to put dressing on it. Obviously the views of the water are nice, but that won't be enough to bring us back. read more

It all starts with a positive attitude and greeting, neither of which the young man at the entrance displayed. After bringing us to a wobbly table, I asked him if he could fix it. He looked at me and said, "They're all that way", and did nothing. Fail #1. Our meals were ok with my wife ordering the Beet Salad with Baked Goat Cheese. It was fine, but quite a small portion. My quinoa bowl with added grilled tuna was the size of a cereal bowl...for $19.95! Fail #2. These meals were far too expensive for what we received and the continued presence of the grouch that was barely filling waters and seating people. With a split of Chardonnay wine in a mini-bottle that looked years old and my Flatrock cider for drinks, our entire lunch was over $60! I gave the server Mollie a great tip because she was the shining light in this place, and the only reason I gave an additional star. Two stars for location on the water. My daughter liked the shrimp burrito, but my fish and chips was a bit lacking: Small pieces of fish that ended up with more breading than fish. A new waterfront bar/restaurant on the Morehead City waterfront that offers a full bar, excellent menu and great view! Completely outdoor deck seating right on the water including tv's. It has covered and uncovered areas and they are working on a rooftop space that is soon to open. A taste of their menu includes tuna nachos, truffle fries, blue fish slides and many traditional items too. Front he first time we tried the tuna nachos, we stop by every time on the way in from boating!
