The food was amazing from the pork dumplings as an appetizer, salmon & red snapper for dinner and snickers cheesecake for dessert. Brett took very good care of us and did not miss a beat. It is located on Evans street right across from the Big Rock landing area. It's small and comfortable was moderately busy for a Friday night at the end of the summer. I think we found a great place to enjoy dinner when we are down at our place at the beach. read more

First, let me say that we focused mainly on the food itself -- although the service was excellent as well. My wife chose the sea scallops, and they were absolutely delicious: tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the mushrooms. I had the salmon, lightly cooked with just the right crispness on the outside while remaining tender and delicious inside. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last -- we'll be coming back. The dining room is a bit small, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. read more

Exceptional food and cocktails, but the hospitality lacked the same level of polish. This was our first visit, and the food and cocktails were genuinely exceptional. Everything we tried felt worthy of the restaurant's reputation, which made the service experience all the more disappointing. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. After ordering cocktails and hearing the specials, we were quickly expected to order entrées. We asked for a few minutes to enjoy our drinks and take in the menu, then ordered two appetizers and later a soup and another cocktail before moving on to entrées. That was when we were told another table was coming in behind us, that we had the table for 90 minutes, and that ideally our entire order should have been placed at the beginning so it could be properly coursed. A 90-minute dining window is completely reasonable, and we absolutely want to be respectful of the restaurant and the guests coming after us. But on a first visit especially, that expectation should be communicated at the time of reservation, in the confirmation, or when guests are seated. Had we known the preferred ordering style from the beginning, we would have happily followed it. Instead, we learned the expectations as the meal unfolded and became far too conscious of the clock to fully enjoy the experience. Ironically, when we did tell our server that we were ready to order entrées, she was understandably busy with other tables. She told us she would be right back, but some time passed before she was able to return. I understand that this is likely exactly what the restaurant is trying to avoid by taking orders earlier, but by that point we were so mindful of the 90-minute window that we ultimately decided not to order entrées because we did not want to put the restaurant or the next reservation behind. When we go somewhere like this, we are not simply looking to fill our bellies and leave. Part of what makes a great restaurant memorable is the full experience: the food, the cocktails, the story and inspiration behind the place, and the hospitality. We were not looking to occupy a table all evening, but we did want the opportunity to enjoy what the restaurant had created without feeling hurried through it. I recognize there are always multiple perspectives to an interaction like this, and I do not believe there was any ill intent. I also do not want the service experience to overshadow how impressive the food and drinks truly were. The two appetizers, soup, and cocktails we had were outstanding and exactly what we had hoped for on our first visit. Morehead City is a destination for so many people, and I understand that locals and repeat guests may already know exactly how the restaurant operates. First-time visitors do not. There is a real opportunity to make that experience just as welcoming for visitors from out of town, especially when the food and drinks are this memorable. A better first experience would have made this somewhere I looked forward to returning to year after year. That is really what makes this so disappointing: the food gave us every reason to want to come back, but the hospitality made the evening difficult to enjoy. read more

A nearly full dining room at 7 pm; a constantly churning ticket printer; a calm staff across front and back. These are the aspects of a restaurant that knows that they're doing. Full Circle cafe is that and more. Their menu of both beverages and food is varied and thoughtful, while their pizzas are unique and deliciously prepared. The assortment of local and locally inspired art on the walls reinforces the proximity to the beach, while the bars playful figurines let you know it's okay to smile and an otherwise serious dining institution. I can't speak highly enough of the kitchen; I've never heard a ticket read with such levity or calm demeanor - everyone BOH knows what they're doing and it reflects in the exquisitely prepared food. The drinks aren't shabby either - the assortment is fantastic and Chelsea was slinging drinks like she was born doing it. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Pictures speak for themselves (except the picture I didn't get of the romaine-based Caesar - a great sample of the staple) read more

The food was amazing. We loved our meals and the options that were at this restaurant. The ambiance was so nice - we brought our 2 year old with us and it was perfect for a nice family night out on vacation. Our server was so kind and helpful with menu recommendations and possible changes. LOVED the chocolate torte cake and raspberry sorbet! Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back on our next vacation. read more

Went here for a girls dinner and were blown away with how great the food was. We got the Arancini as an appetizer it was sooo good we had to order another one. I got the duck and my sister got the special grouper and we couldn't pick a favorite we loved them both so much. The vibes were immaculate. Our server Janie was so sweet and attentive. I would not recommend this restaurant due to customer service alone, we called and left a message to request a reservation, we received a message back from the restaurant giving time options, we then called the number back and left a message again to confirm the time we would arrive, when we arrived the very rude hostess said she did not have us on her pen and paper list and accused us of not calling back to confirm the time we selected, she was very rude, placed the blame on us, and never accepted any responsibility that the error was theirs. I would like to suggest that instead of relying on multiple phone calls, voice messages, and a pen and paper list that the restaurant use a reservation app like many restaurants in the area, this would eliminate this type of error. This is not our first bad customer service experience at this restaurant, we tried to give it a second chance but we will not attempt to return again, there are too many other great restaurants to visit in their immediate area where we have received consistent great food and customer service. read more

We celebrated our Anniversary & New Year's eve (same day) at Full Circle. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The food was more creative than what is usually found in the area and was all so very good. We will definitely go back. read more

This is absolutely the best meal in Morehead. I had the grouper special and it was fantastic. My wife had a pizza and it was incredible. Services, ambiance, and food are all top notch read more

Small but MIGHTY. They go above and beyond. Everything I have had here is delicious. Lasagna, Scallops, Shrimp and Grits.

There are few restaurants in Morehead that have the level of quaint and cozy ambiance *and* delicious food that Full Circle has. It's one of our favorite restaurants in the area, and the competition has heated up in recent years. They serve a great mix of approachable yet upscale dishes. American, some Thai mixed in (dumplings, pho, pad thai), and killer wood fired pizzas. My wife and I tried the beet version of their caprese salad, which had a beautiful presentation. It was almost like a layer cake but with beets and mozzarella, surrounded by arugula, mandarin oranges, etc. We also had the dumplings, which were solid, and a cup of the vidalia onion soup. The star of the show was the pizza, though. Since we were at the bar, we got to see the wood fired oven, and the pizza came to us piping hot. Ordering a pizza without marinara can be risky, but the duxelle base on the mushroom pizza was absolutely fantastic. Since that pizza doesn't have meat by default, we added bacon, and it was so dang good. This is probably the best date night spot in the area. Cozy interior, friendly staff, cool decor. Can't wait to come back. read more

I'd like to kick myself for how long it took me to follow my friends recommendation and come here. For some reason it just didn't impress me from the outside. As soon as you're seated the atmosphere perfectly backs up a menu that spans all the way from pizza to nightly specials that will rock your food world. We were in town for two nights and ate there the first night-steak with beautifully whipped potato's and lobster ravioli topped with a huge piece of salmon. Fish and steak cooked exactly as we asked. The next night we sat down in a different restaurant, ordered our drinks and after looking at the menu, we literally walked right back to Full Circle for round two- mammoth lasagna, a scratch made gourmet pizza and fried oysters that can only be described as the definition of perfection. Great food and pizza. Best in town. Excellent service. Wish they had one in Missoula MT.

Excellent good & great service. Getting too expensive for our budgets :*( We are winter customers only.

Awesome, excellent, so good always. Wait and kitchen staff are excellent. One of the best ever!

Food as always is very good, however they recently took steep price increases. Pizza's which were once $13.00 are now $25.00. Planning on splitting a pizza? Expect a split fee. Bread service? Expect a $4.00 fee. I guess that's what it takes now to keep the doors open. However my group wasn't too pleased at how expensive things have gotten. In addition, grouper special was $45.00, yet the portion was so small, a thinly sliced piece of grouper on top of two pieces of ravioli, that I was still starving. read more

C'mon -- $4.00 for pre-dinner bread? And $2.00 if we want olive oil?? Splitting a pizza is yet another extra charge. Then there's an automatic 24% tip if you're a party of 5 or more. I don't know about you, but if a waiter/waitress is good, the most I usually tip is 20-22%. The food and the wait staff are good, but I just can't afford to go there anymore. read more

My husband and I were interested and excited to try this place. :) We stopped in after a long day of sight-seeing, so we were underdressed (but, it wasn't an issue :). Also, I would recommend making reservations, which we didn't realize. However, the host was so gracious to get a table ready for us on the back patio (which there are only two of ;). Now, for the food... OH MY GOSH! We had the edamame, and I loved that we could choose which type of salt we wanted on them (of course no salt is an option too). We also enjoyed the oysters. Our daughter had a lovely penne pasta with house made marinara sauce and grilled chicken. They don't have a kids menu, but they were happy to whip something up for her. (They also have amazing looking pizza, which is usually a go-to option for kids. ;) For dinner, my husband had the rosemary rubbed lamb- he ate every bite and said he was "mad at how good it is". I had the scallops (listed as a snack), which were absolutely amazing! We will definitely dress up and go back sometime. :) read more

This is an absolute must-stop--an extensive menu with hand-crafted, absolutely yummy food. I had the chicken pho. The savory broth was hands-down some of the best I've had. I frequent this establishment and enjoy the atmosphere and food. Yesterday evening was an exception to that and I typically would let it go except for the unnecessary attitude from Amber, and her wait staff. My friends and I ordered the scallop appetizers. The scallops were steaming hot but the pasta & sauce bed they were on were cold. My brick oven pizza dough was raw and gummy. When asked to speak with a manager, Kaylee, our server gave us an attitude. Amber came over to our table to speak with us with also the same attitude. Our attempt to let allow them awareness so perhaps it can be addressed in the future was completely disregarded. There was no criticism on our part but if a business doesn't know, then how can they fix it? I had posted a review on their Facebook page and they have blocked me!!! I think all of their behavior is highly unprofessional. It's a shame that such a great place is incapable of excepting feedback. read more

Hey from Emerald Isle, I've been remiss in not posting sooner but back in January Kyle closed the restaurant for our first time group to enjoy a wine paired evening of outstanding food! Kyle and Renee could not have been easier to work with and the staff, Jessica, Susan and Stephanie made all in our group feel special. What a staff of professionals and the food was as they say, "killer. " To show how wonderful a person Kyle, the Chef, was he made a substantial personal donation to the "Do it for Drew" foundation. Really liked Full Circle Cafe for dinner. Intimate restaurant, very friendly service, great food, eclectic menu. Be aware that some of the portions are small--sometimes it's not clear if it's a main course or an appetizer--so ask if you're in doubt. I had the lamb chops on a bed of mash potatoes which was a daily special and it was delicious but there were only two small lollipops and it turned out it was an appetizer.
