Great food, we sat outdoors. Would definitely come back again Had the shrimp and grits, Naan Bread, stuffed mahi & blacked shrimp. Only negative was I had my wine is a plastic cup- when the table next to us outside had theirs in wine glasses. Only thought I had was the Big Rock competition is beginning??? read more

I had the crab stuffed mahi with rice and zucchini and it was excellent. My husband had a wild-caught salmon over Gouda grits that was also fantastic. Our server was wonderful. Our only complaint was that we sat outside to enjoy the lovely NC weather, and soon after we sat down, they dropped the plastic sides, so it felt like we were eating in a bubble. It was only 5:30. read more

As most places were extremely busy for dinner, we were able to wait about 15 to 20 minutes for a seat on a Wednesday evening. Service was very welcoming and attentive. I got the mahi with rice and it was cooked wonderfully. My husband got the shrimp and grits and I almost ate a lot of his plate. Great sauce on the grits and shrimp. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, we chose to sit indoors as the wind from the storm was coming in very strongly. It is covered outside. Reasonable pricing for the seafood plates, would love to come back and try something else. read more

Got there early on July 4th and were immediately seated, as they were not busy, and promptly forgotten about. Ten minutes later we asked the hostess if a server was assigned our table. Eventually a server came by and took our orders. The Jalapeño hush puppies were good as was the clam chowder, but I was expecting NE clam chowder and it was not. Wouldn't have it again. The entrees were all good, tuna tacos, clam stuffed mahi, and blackened shrimp. Bar service was poor. The painkiller was very boozy while the red fish lemonade was walked by a bottle of liquor at best. The outdoor seating was cramped and the chairs uncomfortable. One chair wasn't cleaned and one guest ended up sitting in something sticky. The food was a solid B+, service a C, and comfort a C- read more

This our 4th summer coming to Atlantic Beach with our family and our first time trying Red Fish Grill. We started with the crab dip, jalapeño hush puppies, and calamari. Everything was wonderful. The hush puppies were not overly cooked and didn't taste like they were soaked in oil. The crab dip was super creamy and bubbly and the calamari had just enough crunch while remaining tender inside. For main entrees we tried the crab stuffed mahi, seafood pasta, shrimp and grits, fish tacos, and the grilled salmon special with Gouda grits.....everything was OUTSTANDING. Honestly, one of the best meals we've ever had. And to top it all off, we had an amazing waitress and did not have to wait on or ask for anything. 10/10. Thanks for such a wonderful meal for my family of 10. read more

The service was fast and efficient, and the staff was incredibly friendly! Special shoutout to Amber for doing an amazing job! The drinks were sweet and delicious, and the food came out quickly, hot, and full of flavor. The salmon paired perfectly with the balsamic and the grits were rich, cheesy, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and is located right across from the ocean. Highly recommend! read more

Our food was delicious! Service couldn't have been any better!! We loved being able to set outside!!

Came here after several years of gong elsewhere--used to come when it was Mykonos Grill. Pleased to see it still has good food. Had the crab stuffed Mahi and it was very tasty. They subbed the brussel sprouts and grits instead of the primary side dishes and both were good! Grits just a touch dry but very nice gouda flavor. Tristan was very attentive and prices were about what you would expect for a tourist oriented waterfront place. Will come back and tey a couple of other interesting looking items. read more

Good food, friendly staff and quick service. With lots of places available to eat in downtown Morehead City - this was a great choice!

We had dinner at Red Fish tonight, and it was really good. First and foremost, they are super fast. It was a busy night, and they were getting people in and out with very little wait except for very large parties. We opted for first available and ended up on the patio, so there may be more wait time if you're looking to dine indoors in the A/C. We were very happy with our food choices, starting with bacon wrapped scallops. They were so good that I totally neglected to get a picture before we dug in. I had the tuna steak, which had delicious wasabi-based sauce on top. It was not spicy but was tangy. My husband had the shrimp and Gouda grits, which were just divine. Tasted smoky and wonderful! Portion sizes were generous, so we didn't have room for dessert but no doubt would've been great too. This spot is a great choice for lunch or dinner when visiting the area. read more

This is the sister restaurant of Catch which is down the street and doesn't have outdoor seating. Pretty good restaurant. Super busy and popular even on a rainy day. Mahi is dry so I would skip that one. The plate with seafood and rice was the winner. Decent clam chowder just a bit salty. Maybe there was bacon in it too? Not sure. My mother-in-law ordered the mahi sandwich which is blackened fish. The menu doesn't indicate such but the waitress explained that all their seafood is blackened. The fries were okay but super greasy so maybe they were fried with bacon? Or sitting in the oil a while. I thought this place was pretty good but my mother-in-law hated it. read more

Once of the best meals of our two-week trip! Beautiful location with a very nice outdoor seating area where you can watch the boats on Money Island Bay. We started with fresh fried grouper bites (big yum factor!), next was Seared Sea Scallops - Lightly blackened and topped with a lemon herb grill sauce and the daily fish special - baked Wahoo with a cream and spinach topping, cajun rice and a great cucumber and feta salad. The food was simply outstanding as was our server! We would have gone back the next day but they closed. Well worth a visit - and just minutes from Beaufort. read more

As a person who grew up here but visits often Red Fish grill is the best local seafood !! Check them out.

Party of 11 walk-ups and we were greeted warmly. Took no time for them to put tables together outside for us and it just got better from there. Absolutely perfect service, fast, efficient, friendly, and the food....the food was SO dang good! Their special that night was Swordfish which is my ultimate favorite and it did not disappoint. Wish we could go back every week, but alas we were on a family vacation so another visit will have to wait. Thank you so much Red Fish Grill! read more

Solid 4. This is our go to for a nice family dinner. It is consistently good. We really like the apps but they do come in small portions. I've had steak and shrimp here and it's always tasty. We had the flounder and fries and subbed the coleslaw for the cucumber and feta salad. For an appetizer we had bacon wrapped scallops and they were delicious. The table next to us had the zucchini fries and they looked really great! For dessert we had the banana chocolate cake, it was a tad dry but still good. We had a young waitress who needed a little more training but was a total sweetheart. The vibe was dressy casual. I had the Hooked Up cocktail and it was really tasty! read more

Food is really weak . It is also overpriced for the quality. Everything was overcooked and poorly seasoned. It is typical resort food. Take a few steps further and go to Catch. read more

I was in town for a wedding and a little nervous on where to eat. I've been in NY for 3 years now and a bit of a food snob :/ this place is amazing. Got the crab dip (to die for), seared tuna steak, and stuffed mahi mahi. Fish is local and cooked to perfection. Our server was super knowledgeable when we asked questions about the fish. And overall just seemed like a family-friendly place to be. Like we were friends with the tables next to us. Definitely recommend - this place surprised me. read more

For the first night of our vacation we came here for dinner. It was within walking distance of our hotel so it was very convenient. Once we sat down, we definitely got that beach vacation vibe from sitting outside. We could smell the warm ocean air. We ordered the Crab stuffed Mahi with mashed potatoes and coleslaw and also fried oysters. The Mahi was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fried oysters were also very tasty. The seafood linguine was outstanding. Top notch service, with a great atmosphere, right on the water. Would definitely go back.

first time to the Crystal Coast and we wanted to get out to explore. Stayed in Emerald Isle and traveled to Morehead and Beaufort. Stopped in at Red Fish on our way back to EI. Came early (around 5) and found a spot in the bar area (it was so hot, so didn't want to sit outside, but there is ample outdoor seating) can't remember the bartender/waiters name, but all 3 were awesome! Super attentive and friendly. We got the Red Fish lemonade & a spicy margarita with fish bites (grouper) and calamari. All was excellent. For meals we got the crab stuffed mahi & the mahi blt. Also delicious. Would recommend to anyone who may be vacationing in the area! we will be back for sure! read more

Food: Good but bring your platinum card Service: Server disinterested, sleepwalked her way through our meal, barely with it. The food here is scrumptious. Best tuna I've had in town. The shrimp tacos were decent, but the sauce was a little off. Shrimp and grits was just plain Delicious. Calamari was mediocre. Service was lovely. I had a new waitress that day and she was extremely nice. She accidentally sent out a wrong plate but the restaurant let us have it and sent out the additional correct one. Ambiance is the only downside. There's nothing special about the ambiance - it's mediocre and has a view of the road. If this restaurant had tables on the water, I'd give it a full 5 stars. read more

Prices were fair and the alcohol prices weren't out of this world. Food was pretty good, and the apps were outstanding. Highly recommend the crab dip and jalapeno poppers.
