I love Yellow Mart. I remember working there while I was in High School in the seventies. Most everyone from back then is gone now, but Yellow Mart is still the best place in the valley for western wear, jeans, hats and boots. Lots of variety and a friendly, helpful staff. I had not been there in a very long time (moved out of the area), but when I moved back into town, it was the only place to go for sports equipment and jeans. In a day and age where so much is moving to the sterile environment of the World Wide Web, it's great to see that stores like this are still there and bringing a friendly human touch to the shopping experience. read more

I've been shopping at this store for a long time now. The selection of Dickies and other brands is unreal, and the customer service has always been good. Even when it's pretty busy, the employees seem to get to everyone and help them with their needs. Not really sure why the reviews are so polarized, but I would suggest you just go in and experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed IMO read more

I love Yellow Mart. It's an old fashioned style sporting goods store that has pretty much everything you need. Much better than Big 5s and the other one in the Palm Desert Mall that sounds like Rick's. The unAmerican gun control sporting goods store at the Palm Desert Mall (Dick's) is just for posers, tight workout shirts and overpriced Chinese made tennis shoes, they even did away with their gun section. Thats why Yellow Mart is THE BEST Sporting Goods Store in the Coachella Valley they still have a gun section for lovers of the Second Amendment like me. read more

I don't want to leave a good review this place is AWESOME I don't want people to find this little gem. I've been searching all over for a certain caliber of ammo and they have tons of it the guy working the gun shop area very cool very helpful. For the people leaving the bad review about the employees not wearing masks who cares but I'm glad your taking your business elsewhere MORE SUPPLIES FOR ME . Love this place so happy I found it it's worth the hour drive for me read more

Got to LOVE Yellow Mart! After months of trying to buy a small stash of ammo at Turnerswith no luck, gal there whispered go to Yellow Mart. Drove over and staff was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! Plus they have a plethora of other cool things! read more

I've lived in the valley for almost a decade. I've been going to this store for years. The reviews talking about poor service, racism and discrimination are all a bunch of crap. Don't believe it - FAKE NEWS! Great customer service. The folks working there are down to Earth and are extremely helpful. Incredible selection. Being from the gun loving State of Michigan, Yellow Mart has found a place in my heart and is the only place I'll purchase my firearms and ammo from - as long as I live here. Best place in the valley. Thank you, Yellow Mart, for being awesome! Keep up the great work! See you soon! Cheers! read more

We have been shopping here for over 30 years. The staff always great. We were in on Friday and today and the gal at ammo is awesome. Great personality and super helpful. Support this store. They are always helpful and I'll continue along with my friends supporting their business. read more

We LOVE this store! It's what stores use to be before big-box-stores. Always clean, organised and super-friendly. This store is a part of a community and its heritage and has a feel you can't get elsewhere. People want to be there, and it always has a friendly vibe because of it. Good parking, cool inside and we can't express how much we love going to Yellow Mart read more

Great place with great employees very knowledgeable Low end to high end items Best place in Indio

This is a special place. The grand sense of the past meets the present day wish list for any outdoorsman or lady. I met Mark, who has been serving for over 30 years. We had a grand conversation about generational change, and how YM does it's best to embrace it while refusing to fall prey to its flash. Old brands like Coleman, Pendleton surround you, Boots, firearms, hunting gear abounds. And there is an entire wig that serves youth sports. Well done. Thank you for keeping hold on the line on tradition and service. It's hard to find these days. Everyone in the CV and beyond needs to experience this gem. read more

I love this store! Great for guns, ammo and fishing equipment. I buy all my ammo here at fair prices, and have bought a pistol here too. Knowledgeable staff and very little wait times. read more

Yellow Mart may a competitor of sorts but I don't look at it that way. We specialize in different things and when it comes to accessories and a tremendous selection of shooting gear, reloading supplies and clothing, Yellow Mart is the place I recommend my customers go for things I don't carry. The staff is terrific and the store has a huge selection of things I like to buy. It's only about ten miles from my store and I am their newest regular customer. read more

I travel 50 miles one way to shop at this store. The customer service is excellent. The wealth of knowledge from staff is very handy when I have questions about items I want to purchase. Their quality of products is far superior to that of your standard sporting goods store. And their firearms selection is the best I've found that's why I drive the distance to shop here. read more

Yellowmart is a great store. Guns, ammo, camping, fishing, boots, clothing, athletic equipment, etc. I love this store.

Damn clerk was ignoring me, I just wanted to buy some ammunition. I was trying to get his attention but he pretty much ignored me. I don't recommend this place to anyone read more

80% of staff was not wearing a mask nor enforcing it on customers. Horrible that they don't care about their employees or shoppers. Store was also very dusty and dirty. read more

None of the staff members were wearing masks. I felt very unsafe in this store and would recommend going elsewhere as they don't even have an abundant stock of anything worth entering this environment for. Disgusted. read more

Yellow mart is awesome for not forcing anyone to wear a mask. They have so much stuff and their employees are nice and friendly, I dont kmow why they have bad reviews about their customer service. I think the people who left thoee reviews are just mad because they dont force people to wear a mask. read more

This is a very nice store, I came in to pick up some ammo and they had everything and more that I was looking for...lots of inventory if your looking for firearms and the prices from what I looked at were right in line with everyone else...one of the better gun stores in the area. Will be one of my favorite stores. Service is great , Matt is friendly and knowledgeable....thank you read more

Have loved yellow mart in the past. Well, pre-covid I guess. Walked in today to make a large purchase when it dawned on me NO ONE who worked there was wearing a mask! Just chatting away with customers, some also without masks, up close. Could not believe it and got out fast. What selfish idiots, I'll never go back and recommend if you don't want to end up in an icu you avoid it also. Unbelievable. read more

Don't shop here please! Unless you want to get sick, the staff do not care about the safety of themselves or their customers, they don't wear or require masks, really unfortunate, and frankly very irresponsible. For the safety of you and your families, shot elsewhere that's safe and actually cares about your needs. Yellow Mart terrible place. read more

Walked into the store, wasn't greeted or acknowledged probably because I was brown skinned. Unfortunately no one in the store really seemed to care. Dirty old store needs to shut down with the rest of miles. read more

This place is a joke. Waited 30 minutes for help, then was passed off to an associate who was already busy. NO customer service. Manager was a dick when I explained the problem. Believe the negative reviews, they are correct. read more

Just had one of the best shopping experiences I've had in so long. I went with my sons to look for cleats for football and Ryan helped us. He was so kind and patient. He made us feel welcomed and answered so many of our questions since this was our first time buying cleats and he was well experienced in playing football. I will definitely make this store our go to for anything sports for all my sons. Thank you Ryan! read more

My Granddaughters play Varsity Soccer at Palm Desert High School. We went to order their varsity jackets. The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. Belia was the first to help us order one jacket and help set up the lettering and patches for the other. She was very helpful and really cared about getting what we wanted. Francis helped us with the 2nd one when it came in she also was very knowledgeable pleasant and paid attention to what we wanted. They even called me on Christmas Eve to let me know that the second jacket came in in case it was a Christmas present. They always called me to keep me informed. I never had to call them and when I came to get the jackets, John who did the embroidery did a fabulous job I couldn't be happier. Thank you Yellow Mart read more

Been going here since I was a kid. Great place.

What brought me to the store were the skateboards in the window. I thought it was a skateboard shop. I walked in and my mind was blown away. This store is AWESOME! Literally has just about everything from shoes, to clothes, guns, ammo, camping gear and much much more. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Great customer service is hard to come by, but not here. It's within every staff member! I came in just to look at the skateboards, didn't even look at them because I was glued to the grunt style and Ben Davis shirts. Ended up purchasing ammo too! Wow talk about hook line and sinker. They have fishing equipment and bait! This was to me so far Indios best hidden gem! I had no idea this store has been around for 75 years! Seriously stop by and you will not be disappointed, a little bit of caution though, you will want to spend. I'm going back on Thursday. read more

What can I say, except that Yellow Mart is a Godsend in this ever dwindling world of firearms and accessories. Matt is the best! He knows his stuff and I'd very good with customer satisfaction. All in all, it's my favorite new place to shop for guns & ammo. read more

Yellow Mart is a true gem in the bastion of old style stores. I have been in the store multiple times for different things. There are no "salespeople", so you aren't hounded the minute you enter. You get to browse around and take your time. When I had questions, I asked. I dislike shopping in stores where salespeople are all over you and telling you how much they like something you have in your hand. Simply put Yellow Mart lets you shop. YAY!! ALL employees (and they are diverse) have been KIND and helpful. This is a family business and they have been employing East Valley folks for 40+ years. Kindness and love always win! read more

I haven't been to a Yellow Mart since they closed the one in El Centro but I drove across the desert to shop there after reading all the yelp reviews. All the negative reviews were by scared little b!tchz who were angry that YM believes in civil rights and doesn't mandate masks. If you're that scared of getting sick stay home. I bet I will spend more money there than all of you chicken sh!tz combined. BTW, God hates cowards. read more

Nice store, good products, very helpful staff. Just bought a new rifle and they help me with every stage of the process. Real smooth and easy. read more

I must say this. I don't write many reviews. But, I was super impressed by the calm and collected nature of every employee in this store today. Many people in line for guns and ammunition. With all of the uncertainty and panic in the world right now. I felt welcomed and supported and this in turn helped make the clientele all follow suit. I didn't hear anyone complain about the long wait, act irritated, make comments etc. which we all know, unfortunately, would be the case in many places. These men and women are working 12 hour shifts, and still keeping a great attitude. The prices were fair and not gouging, which they could have done. The staff was awesome, all of them , and everyone kept a safe distance in the store. I was in the store twice today. And between the two visits , was there for a few hours because a friend was making his first gun purchase and had questions and wanted me there. I suggested yellow mart over another store in the area as I've always been happy with this local business. We are both happy he decided to come there as he was already in line at the other store. Great job all of you. Super impressed. Definitely wIll come back soon and recommend you guys. read more

No stars for this place . Walked in and asked for a law enforcement restricted firearm and the guy behind the gun counter was a complete jerk!!! Went to tim's gun shop instead. Save your money and go to tim's instead . read more

High priced and will not accept manufacturer coupons on any items. They say that because they are a private store they do not have to honor coupons. They are listed as a participating store but do not participate in couponing???? Best to use them for fitting a product then order it online. read more

Love this place. B was very helpful and friendly during my recent gun purchase. Good selection and great prices. I was happy to support a locally owned business and avoid the big box stores. read more

I have been shopping here for about 10 years buying a few things each year, on Thursday I noticed a dusty Fenwick (CHINA) rod clearly but faded mark saying $19.99 I went to front to pay for it and the clerk rang it up as $79.99. I of course passed on this and suggested that it should be properly labelled . The clerk agreed then added curtly added OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR EYES CHECKED. IF I WANT TO BE INSULTED I WILL GO TO K MART OR WALMART I AM SORRY THAT THIS LOCAL MERCHANT IS SO STUPID !!!! read more

great old school store, have to laugh at the reviews telling people this store is racist when half the staff is hispanic. Real nice people and good service read more

My first one-star review ever! First off I'll say, the selection at Yellow Mart in Indio is HUGE. Beyond that, their customer service and pricing is absolutely terrible. I've been maybe five or six times and have NEVER been greeted. You will walk around the store, look under the counter at the guns, stand near a salesperson -- and yet, still, nobody will ask if they can help you. I understand there aren't really any other establishments in the desert with the selection that Yellow Mart has, but I'd rather shop online than visit this place again. read more
