Found this cool little spot by happenstance. The location is a bit industrial but it's on the corner and the gps led me straight to it. It feels like you're in someone's living room which I loved. The coffee menu was straight and to the point. My husband and I both got chai lattes and they were seriously good. The staff were super friendly and I learned that they're building a brand new location off speedway. Definitely give this place a visit. Will be back to try some coffee for sure. read more

I'm fairly new to the whole home brewing specialty coffee gig, so I dropped in to ask some questions. The roaster and barista were very willing to answer my barrage of unending questions. We sampled some insane-tasting coffee together, I learned how to properly taste coffee, received a quick pour-over lesson, and most importantly increased my understanding of specialty coffee brewing from the growers to the cup. Met one of the owners and learned about the YBC history. The manager came in at one point and added even more knowledge to my already caffeinated brain. I have a newfound respect for the coffee industry after attending my spontaneous coffee 101 class at YBC. My homework is to take the YBC box of 4 coffees and start brewing. This is truly some of the absolute best locally roasted coffee in Tucson. It was recommended to us to become members of Yellow Brick so weekly, bi-weekly coffee delivery could come straight to our door. We tried it! And at this point, we can't go back to anything else. Their coffee produces a rich variety of unique flavors ranging from chocolate, grapefruit, to velvety orange. What a treat to wake up to! So now I've been going to Yellow Brick regularly for quite some time. I think it's time to reaffirm my thoughts on the place. I still stand by a solid 5 star review. I can't think of a single thing I would like to see change. The coffee is downright delicious, staff is super friendly, it's always been clean, service had always been fast and you can take pride in the fact that you're supporting a local business! Over time I've been able to try all of the different roasts they normally offer and I haven't had any that I didn't like. They each have distinct flavors that set them apart from each other. I like that there is a noticeable difference between the roasts as that is not always the case depending on where you go. I believe they make their own caramel syrup in house and get fresh pastries from Prep and Pastry each morning. What I get from this is they like to serve things fresh. The drip coffee and the cold brew are my normal go-to choices but I've seen them serve some drinks that looked amazing. Like a Roasted Coconut Mocha Latte. I still think about that thing from time to time. I highly recommend Yellow Brick and I also recommend keeping an eye out because there are several businesses around the city that have some of their delicious cold brew. And if your in the area, on Sundays at the Rillito Raceway Farmers Market they have a stand so there is yet another opportunity to try something worthwhile. I've been back a bunch of times since the last review. I love their lattes. They use ganache from prep and pastry(p&p) instead of fake syrups. They've also had Horchata on stock all but that once but I'm hooked on the Vanilla Bean latte. I'm still working through the sampler box of beans and my favorite is the Guatemalan. It really does taste like chocolate ganache. Great service, great coffee, plenty of options like nitro, cold brew, etc. They even have pastries from P&P. Also, it's worth it for the $50 gift card because you currently get an extra $10 loaded. Buy the card first and use it right away. read more

I visited multiple coffee locations while I was in Tucson and I think this was my least favorite of the ones I tried. Their yelp said they were closed, I called and they weren't so I gave it a try: The cashier definitely didn't seem like he wanted to do his job. He wasn't very helpful. Besides the service, if you like a normal to strong coffee taste you won't get it here. It was very watered down tasting and didn't really have any special flavor to it. It is a small and quiet shop that is tucked away from the busyness of life that allows you to relax and enjoy some of the finer things in life...like delicious coffee. Loved it! Came here during my break recently at work. It is tucked away in an industrial area around Banner South (very convenient for me since I work there). I tried he cortado and that was delicious. The taste is right on point. They serve pastries from Prep and Pastry. We tried the scones that were great and went well with the coffee. Seating is limited but this was not an issue while I was there. There are a few smaller tables and couch seating. This is not just a run of the mill coffee house. This is a roaster first and coffee house second. There is a huge focus on the quality of the coffee and the beans selected. There is a passion that is evident in the selection and the preparation of coffee beans. They are roasted onsite. There are a few options on how to have the coffee prepared for different styles. This is a place for people who really want to experience quality coffee. The menu is limited to a few different styles of coffee to keep it simple. You will not find a large board with 50 different types of coffee and 1000s of varying combinations. Simple good coffee is what this place is about. Service: The gentleman who helped me was kind and inviting. I unfortunately did not get his name, but I will next time. He definitely had a passion for the coffee and pride in what he was doing. He was informative of the selection process of the bean and was helpful in explaining the background of the company. Conclusion: With everything combined I truly liked this place. It is a bit out of the way to get there, that is probably the only downside, but is a roasting house first and foremost. As I sat and enjoyed my dreamy coffee, I watched all the regulars come in and order the cold brew. I am glad I ordered a popular item as it was well worth it. After reading all of the wonderful reviews on Yelp, we pulled up the directions up on our Maps and headed over. It was a 20 minute drive through a series of twists and turns into a strange industrial neighborhood. "This can't be right," we thought to ourselves. Thankfully, our Maps did not fail us this this time. We were immediately greeted into the quaint setting. The staff offered us a sample of their cold brew, which is smooth and refreshing. I got the orange mocha and it tasted nothing like orange or like mocha. been here before for the killer decaf that they make from a delicious mexican bean. before you shake a stick at this review, i work in specialty, i just don't want to be hyper caffeinated all the time, and if you ever want to know if a specialty coffee shop has any merit you'll test out their quality by having the decaf. that said, i finally made a happy return. i had a shot, which was solid. there was a guy walking around filming someone in the back. the employees all seemed a little uncomfortable this time around, although i think they might have just been busy/preoccupied unlike last time i came through. mocha was reviewed as really yummy and not too hot. the art was good and it sure looked chocolatey. i went back up for a cold brew to keep me company on a long drive & they accidentally gave me a drip, but when i clarified they got me the cold brew and let us keep both for free. the cold brew is a latin american bean (guatemala or ecuador if i remember correctly?) and had a great taste, and paired well with their almond milk (not my usual style, but was trying not to get an upset empty stomach from a bunch of caffeine at once). handed off the free drip to my navigator. it was a kenya but i didn't get a chance to try it so won't comment on it. will be happy to come back sometime, especially because they do siphon pour overs which are a bit of a rarity. read more

5 stars for the quality of the coffee (which as other Yelpers have pointed out, is fantastic). Easily some of the best coffee in town--right up there with Exo and Presta. You can tell that the folks who run this coffee shop care a lot about the product they are putting out and ensuring that their customers have a good experience. I had the drip coffee of the day and it was delicious. The actual physical space itself honestly is okay--not the most comfortable of places to spend a long period of time in--mostly because it still has that carpeted office space feel and probably reminds me of an actual office. ;) Haha.
