three bags of yellow brick coffee
    Rob K.

I'm fairly new to the whole home brewing specialty coffee gig, so I dropped in to ask some questions. The roaster and barista were very willing to answer my barrage of unending questions. We sampled some insane-tasting coffee together, I learned how to properly taste coffee, received a quick pour-over lesson, and most importantly increased my understanding of specialty coffee brewing from the growers to the cup. Met one of the owners and learned about the YBC history. The manager came in at one point and added even more knowledge to my already caffeinated brain. I have a newfound respect for the coffee industry after attending my spontaneous coffee 101 class at YBC. My homework is to take the YBC box of 4 coffees and start brewing. Passion doesn't even begin to describe the folks at this place. If you dig coffee, you'll dig this place.

Welcome to Portlandia! Yellow brick Coffee is a hipster coffee shop in an odd business plaza. They have a good following as we saw a good flow of customers coming in and out during our 15 minute visit. Their coffee is great and not bitter like Starbucks. You can choose how you want your coffee brewed. They offer chemex, siphon, aero press, etc. Cheers!

First time visit to this coffee house. My americano was fantastic. The atmosphere in this coffee house is very quiet, relaxing and comfortable. It's a little off the beaten but well worth the visit.

Yes, it's off the beaten path, but it's well worth the trip! Why settle for convenience when you can have the best? The service is great, Adam and team are knowledgeable and friendly. Their products, both the prepared drinks and their take home bags of roasted beans, are top notch! Yellowbrick is a must try!

Two of our absolute favorites from Yellow Brick.

This is truly some of the absolute best locally roasted coffee in Tucson. It was recommended to us to become members of Yellow Brick so weekly, bi-weekly coffee delivery could come straight to our door. We tried it! And at this point, we can't go back to anything else. Their coffee produces a rich variety of unique flavors ranging from chocolate, grapefruit, to velvety orange. What a treat to wake up to! Our personal favorites are their Guatemalan and Tanzania bags. This is divine coffee you can't miss.

Mask Mandatory and social distancing enforced!! Super friendly little coffee shop hidden behind traffic. Great customer service, everyone was friendly. I got my regular vanilla ice latte which tasted like I was drinking from a paper straw....but I wasn't!! Flavor was off but wasn't undrinkable.

Good cappuccino made with care. Kind of in a hard to access location, but this makes it cool in itself. David, the barista, informed me it used to just be a coffee roasting warehouse, but they had enough demand to turn it into a coffee shop.

I've been back a bunch of times since the last review. I love their lattes. They use ganache from prep and pastry(p&p) instead of fake syrups. They've also had Horchata on stock all but that once but I'm hooked on the Vanilla Bean latte. I'm still working through the sampler box of beans and my favorite is the Guatemalan. It really does taste like chocolate ganache. Great service, great coffee, plenty of options like nitro, cold brew, etc. They even have pastries from P&P. Also, it's worth it for the $50 gift card because you currently get an extra $10 loaded. Buy the card first and use it right away.

Tucked away in a remote industrial park, is a Mecca for coffee heads. They offer three global global offerings, all top notch.

Whenever I'm driving on Aviation in the morning, I make sure to swing by here. One of my top picks for a simple quality pour-over.

When I finally moved, I thought the hardest part would be adding 30 minutes to my commute. It wasn't. It was losing that daily routine of walking into a place that feels so real and personal. Talega isn't just a coffee shop. It feels intimate in a way that's hard to find now. You can tell Tyler & Rene actually care. Not just about the coffee, but about the people who come in and the community around them. Nothing about it feels transactional. You're remembered, conversations matter, and it feels grounded in something genuine. Their seasonal drinks are what really set them apart. They are not cheap grabs for attention or copies of whatever is trending online. The ideas feel inspired and intentional. (Their maize latte and miso latte were perfect) You can tell there is real thought behind what they put on the menu. It reflects a level of care for the craft that is especially rare. It's been incredible to watch how far they've come since they started. They've grown without losing what makes them special, which is not easy to do. I don't live next door anymore, but I will never stop being a regular and I will never stop drinking the Maize latte (I literally dream about it).

I have to say, their drink was so good that I almost missed being at the finish line in time for my bf! Talega was so intriguing to me that I had to google what it meant. "Talega coffee is an artisanal method that uses a talega, a cotton bag traditionally used to carry coins. Over time, it was discovered that these bags were ideal for filtering coffee, giving rise to this traditional method. In addition, the word "talega" comes from Arabic and means "to hang," which refers to the original use of these bags. The bag is made of cotton, a material widely used in Mexico since ancient times, especially during the Mexica period for making clothes. Likewise, the cotton, made of 100% cotton, is a completely organic product ideal for preparing coffee. Therefore, cotton, composed of 90% cellulose, does not introduce foreign odors or flavors to the coffee and is insoluble in water." via huupa.coffee The owners, Tyler and Renee, were so wonderful. I had such a nice time chatting with them about coffee in general and what a beautiful place and concept and vibe they have at their shop! If you've been to Telega, you know how beautiful and dreamy the spot is. It feels so cozy, like a living room of your best friend's house. But, it also feels like you are in the lobby of a very artsy hotel. They have such creative and intriguing seasonal drinks, manzana latte, miso maple flat white, and picca latte. I didn't get a chance to try them but I got their iced matcha with oat and it was so good! Just perfect. I sent my bf and his bro here the next day and they also loved their coffee so much! We def need to come back to visit Tucson and especially to visit their coffee shop again. My bf said his second order of coffee, their machine wasn't working so it was on the house. They are so generous! We came back on our way out and stopped by them again because my bf insisting for paying his cortado but it was after 2pm. We realized when we got there.. Well, this just means we def will need to come back and I think my bf and his peeps are already considering coming back for next year Tour de Tucson so I can't wait to come back to Talega again!
