I was just in that…read moreposition, and if you're anything like me you'll know half of looking for a shop is finding one that you can trust to do work on your sports car to the same level of trust you would have doing it yourself. Jannetty Racing Enterprises (JRE) recently did work on my modified C7 Z06 corvette. While it was just an alignment and tires, they did more than a great job. Even though tires and alignment seems routine, you may know that it's actually not for sports cars with wide low profile tires and in fact is how I found Jannetty Racing. I called Hunter Engineering (maker of top-of-the-line automotive shop equipment). Jannetty is one of the very few shops in the area that have both Hunter revolution (for "touchless" mounting") and Hunter roadforce (for high-speed balancing along different force/load conditions). They can handle Z06 and Viper-width tires with ease. After putting my new wheels/tires through the paces I can say this is probably the best tire job I've ever had. Even the wheel/tire package I got from tire rack online w/ the same mount and roadforce is not as smooth. The alignment proved a similar experience. Tony is the type of gentleman you hope to have straightening out your car. He's been doing it as many years as I've been alive, so talking with him was like talking with a old-school master craftsmen. He found a somewhat hard to diagnose reason for my rear cross camber being out of wack, with one side having basically a track-like camber degree while the other side more in spec. Taking care of that, he got the camber, toe, and caster all dialed in perfectly. The car tracks straight, doesn't tramline anymore, and doesn't kick under wheel spin. Outside of what was worked on, they have a large team that is clearly passionate about cars. From the moment you talked to their team on the phone, you know you are talking with folks that know the in's and out's. Ted took time to talk cars and share his thoughts on my car and related cars - only found out later he was the owner of JRE. Give Jannetty Racing some consideration since their Yelp rating is artificially low on here (their Google rating is higher, but I wanted to post my review here for that reason). Many dealers will need to have a specialized person (in my case a Chevy Vette tech) to do much of what it seems pretty much anyone at Jannetty can do. Their prices are about what dealers may charge, but if you're reading this, you're probably not bringing in your run-of-the-mill high-volume econobox cars that dealers are best setup for. Went online, found a vehicle, contacted Sales who put me in touch with Jimmy Gallagher, a knowledgeable, great salesman. Took me on a tour of service, parts, management. Listened to everything I wanted down to the smallest detail. The vehicle was still in transit and I put a deposit on it. I subsequently added over $1,500 in accessories to upgrade its overall appearance. Service is awesome as well. Advisors are also attentive, listen and are knowledgeable and helpful. Anytime I've had s question I can call and have my question answered. The Parts department people will research a part, answer questions and are just as friendly and professional. I live 45 minutes away from dealership and there are others closer. Glad I saw the billboard, went on-line and checked out inventory and took time to call and then go down and visit in-person. All the staff from reception, to sales, service, parts, management helped make the car buying experience pleasant. The sale side is absolutely amazing, the service side is completely horrendous. I get a new car every 2-3 years, I ended up with a trail blazer which I loved, 45 days into it there was a leak, it destroyed some of my electrical. They fixed everything no problem told me they couldn't find the leak. Over the past two years I have had issues with water coming in, I have sent videos, spoke to techs. They didn't find anything. Fast forward to this past week, my car wouldn't start, I called got transferred 3x had to re-explain everything 3 times. By the time the third transfer I was annoyed, probably a little rude cause why can't you all communicate amongst each other instead of me repeating myself multiple times with each transfer. I towed the car in, they told me they were booked for weeks, I finally called today to which they told me my warranty will no longer cover this because it's weatherstripping on my sunroof is what they found the issue to be. Which if that was the case, the weatherstripping was the cause three years ago on a brand new vehicle and should've been replaced then.. it's 1600 bucks The part that really pisses me off when I went to pick up my car today, I did not let them do the work cause I'm not paying for it out-of-pocket. My service ticket has none of the issues that I had spoken about.. it said customer says battery is dead.. (no , I never said that, I was very clear and concise) I did tell them I disconnected the battery to try and reset the computer system, and I dropped the nut to the battery which did need to be replaced and I would pay for. Today's call said oh we found part of the problem, the nut was missing off the battery/. NO, I literally told 2 techs and one supervisor about the nut on the battery. Last year, my father, who has also been a loyal customer with them who was told to bring his car in for service and it would only take a couple hours, and it ended up taking a week because guess what they never even looked at it until he actually called pissed off asking for his car back. Avoid getting any work done on your car from this place at all cost.

Jerry said to bring it in and he'll see what he could do with it even though that wasn't his business. After two hours of trying everything it was apparent that only a Porsche dealer could "code" the radio. Jerry is an amazing man who loves a challenge, and hated conceding. Even though he spent all that time he didn't ask for any compensation whatsoever. I told him that even though I live in Southbury, I'll be bringing my cars to him from now on. I would rate him 6 stars if I could.

It took maybe 25 minutes, they have great AC & TV for those that don't work from their phone or brought in a book to past the time !! After a tweak or 2 to my car I was soon on my way to feeling that Artic cold air as I ride through the end of summer !! Got paid by insurance and I paid him $120 above that. He didn't understand that Porsche radios must be programmed to the car's vin. and after two replacement radios, 37 (the actual number) phone calls, and patiently waiting for 6 months for him to figure that out, on June 27th he told me to find someone else to finish the job. Since he started it, the insurance won't pay a reputable company to program it, and Frank, who could get paid for programing it won't finish the job. I'm left with a radio that still doesn't work, and no way to fix it except pay for it myself. After he couldn't just replace the radio, Frank is rude and abrupt. YOU should stay as far away from that place as only possible.

I had not been back to see Frank or Jesse in a few years. Both came out and gave me a personal greeting. This really made me feel special. The job that was done is Excellent! The truck looks great. The nicest part is Frank always calls you into the garage to explain exactly what was done and makes sure you're happy and satisfied with the finished product. I travel from Massachusetts and the drive is well worth it. If you love your vehicle, want expert workmanship with fair pricing and like being treated like you're a part of a family, then this is the place for you!
