His work has always been superb, but I just had an extraordinary experience with him that I thought worth sharing. Three weeks ago, I shipped John a late 1967 Type D three synchro overdrive gearbox for my 1967 MGB roadster. At John's suggestion, I also shipped him my car's original non-overdrive three synchro gearbox for parts. The gearboxes took a week to arrive at John's shop by UPS. Within two days, John had disassembled both gearboxes, diagnosed the faults in the overdrive gearbox, determined which parts he could use out of the parts gearbox and which parts he would have to provide, and sent me a detailed written estimate for my approval. The parts gearbox saved time and money. John promised a four week turnaround. John emailed me last Friday that he had finished rebuilding the overdrive gearbox and was leak testing it over the weekend. It has been shipped to me by truck freight - a two and a half week turnaround. John's final bill was less than his estimate. In addition, John gave what I consider a generous a credit for the remainder of the parts gearbox that he did not use in my build. I recommend John and Quantum Mechanics without reservation.

I finally got a opportunity to put the car in the air and what I saw was a nightmare from missing under shields to stripped drain bolts on a NEW REMANED TRANSMISSION. Later | discovered the transmission pan gasket was leaking after they just serviced the transmission for the second time the transfer case bushing right behind the trans was blown out didn't even inform me (they definitely knew because they had the transfer case out). Later I found a missing lug stud on the wheel. After all that I bring the car back and one they were EXTREMELY unprofessional and just terrible service, Two there warranty is junk and they road tested the car 3 miles and told me my concern was minor | even drove the car with a service writer and he said he felt the shudder but didn't further look at it. Then I paid for a sprakplug replacment and I have a missfire 500 miles later I pull the plugs out myself totally got scammed and scott the service writer also agreed that they werent changed along with them only offering compensation for the price of the plugs and wouldnt refund the labor I never saw a penny of the $500 they charged for the spark plugs along with the scam they pulled on the $7,000 transmission replacment when it only needed a transfercase.
