There are few things that I hate more in this world than auto repair shops, a close second to auto dealerships. Constant upsell pressure and just overall diceyness from start to end, almost every time. Almost! Having driven brand new cars for the past 10 years or so, we hadn't really ever needed the service of a small shop, which was totally okay with me. As the kids got into their later teens though, obviously we had to start thinking used cars and the dreaded problems that sometimes accompany them. It's been about 4 years since that time and we've used Randy and Copeland at least 10 times for a variety of repairs ranging from large to small. We have been treated well and fairly every single time and the repairs were handled quickly. The nice thing about this place is that he will suggest other things that need to be done, but not get pushy about it. Honestly, this is the best auto shop I've dealt with in my almost 50 years, during which time I've likely dealt with close to 50 shops. The 2.7'liter Ford Ecoboost motor has the same fundamental architecture and design as the Ford 3.7 liter motor. Accordingly, a spark plug is not able to be removed for show and tell from that motor in 15 minutes. It would also have required removing everything from the top of the motor to access the spark plugs. That doesn't happen in 15 minutes, according to your own labor estimates. Hence, the spark plug that we saw could not have come from the 2.7 liter Ecoboost motor, thus the "magic spark plug" shown to us scorched black. Ford says to replace spark plugs at 100,000 miles, period. Neither motor is misfiring or otherwise running irregular or rough. The labor estimates were all three (3) to (5) times what the Ford dealership charges. No one said anything about "ultra" or "ultra premium" brake parts, and in any case, to quote $650.00 for a factory original brake job on one (1) axle is not only extremely exorbitant, it's dubiously preposterous. Again, a factory original one axle brake job at the Ford Dealer is $179.95. Your unspecified, as to the types of parts used, estimates was more than three (3) times what the local Ford Dealer charges for their factory original spec one ((1) axle brake service. Your "plausible deniability" is neither plausible nor is it deniable. Your advertising and promotion is misleading at best, and fraudulent in reality. How can all of your testimonials and other people on here say, essentially, the same thing, that is that you were going to save them from the crazy pie-in-the-sky, unrealistic dealer estimates and charges, yet when I go in there everything is just the opposite. Because in my case the local Ford Dealership has to save me from all of your crazy, pie-in-the-sky, insanely exorbitant estimates for, otherwise, very simple, basic service on two (2) vehicles that you would have me pay well over a thousand dollars for? My one star and previous factual report still stands. We both know what really happened. You can deny it all you want. Furthermore, I was appalled, aggravated, and taken aback by your employee constantly and incessantly "hitting on" my personal assistant, during two (2) separate visits to your business that day, and so was she. Totally unprofessional, as was the entire experience. Try explaining that away, UPDATE: A Complaint was subsequently filed with the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, Dealers & Repairers Division, investigating the unusual, unorthodox, and improper manners that they handled the previous transactions that were previously, justifiably and righteously complained about. I suggest that receiving a 4 out of 5 stars ratings from others who reviewed this business on this site have to be self-serving and fraudulent. read more
