Love this longtime store and very glad to see it still around when online shopping has killed so many good retail shops. I recently lost weight and celebrated with some new tops. Shop CLOSED. Essentially this shop is closed as everything was moved into one store across the hall from where it used to live. It's now just Yazdi. There is a much smaller selection of clothes and much less plus size in what is now just Yazdi. More importantly, as others have written, the clothes now seem to focus on bright colors and patterns. This works for some I'm sure, but I preferred when they had a larger selection of darker items and solids. I'm bummed as this was one of my fav places to shop and almost always found something I wanted. read more

When I walked into the store the sales person was quite friendly and helpful in finding clothing items for me and a gift I was buying for my daughter. However the item I bought for my daughter did not work out so I returned it. The same sales lady I bought from had a "turn about face" and was so rude to me when I told her I was returning an item six days later. I was within the return policy stipulations, the tickets were on the item, so there was no reason for her rudeness. She never smiled, she picked up her cell phone and had a conversation in the middle of the return transaction and made no eye contact when she gave me my credit receipt. I had to ask her for the original receipt. I found the clothing a bit baggy & oversized and the jewelry & other accessories are costume like pieces and overpriced for what they are. I made a special pilgrimage here while visiting Seattle, but the plus-size selection ain't what it used to be. They've combined everything into one space and mixed regular and plus sizes together (plus sizes have a purple thing on the hanger). I only saw one top that caught my eye, but it wasn't worth the effort to try on one thing. If you really like flowy, brightly patterned things you might have luck here. I prefer darker solids, and was disappointed. read more

I have shopped at this store many times and love the selection and most of the staff. The staff is generally helpful, but the manager Kim has consistently been short and sometimes downright rude. I have always loved supporting local businesses in my neighborhood and I especially enjoy Yazdi's annual sale, but I fear I will be unable to continue shopping at this location if I know I will have to interact with the manager. read more

I have shopped at Yazdi since it was a hole in the wall in the bowels of the Pike place market. I am sorry that they closed the market store, and went to the smaller space in Wallingford, but everyone does what they have to do. I have always found the sales people to be friendly and helpful, and am sorry others have not been so lucky. I have no idea why, except that you get what you give off. The clothes are pricey for me on social security, but if I don't buy as much as when I was working, I don't need as much either. I am still delighted by the clothing and jewelry both. The clothing is bright, colorful, and comfortable. The jewelry is costume, but many items are real silver and semi precious stones. I find they compliment each other, and I find the displays inspire me. I will continue to shop here. read more

Yazdi is a great spot. It's warm and inviting, and a place where truly everyone can feel comfortable shopping for clothes. The customer service is top notch, with staff going above and beyond to help you pick out the right outfit. They are very knowledgeable and seem to really care that you spend your hard earned money on something that is actually going to really be the right fit and style for you. They have a wide selection, and their clothing is quite attractive, yet oftentimes still comfortable. They have everything from cozy sweaters and tunics to tops you can go out on the town wearing. They also have a great selection of accessories - scarves, jewelry, leggings, etc. You name it! I totally recommend stopping by. Whether you want to check out the selection on your own, or are looking for some guidance on what would look great on you, Yazdi will be a good choice. Some of their pieces are indeed a bit on the higher side price-wise, but they have regular sales, and it pays off to join their mailing list so you know when to come in and check out the deals. Check out Yazdi and you're sure to be treated well, and maybe even find something unique and interesting to wear. It's a... unique place. Definitely lots of comfortable looking clothes but a little on the matronly side. Kind of like Eileen Fisher? Went because supposedly they had a good scarf selection... Prices were great for the scarves but not that great of a selection. The Bali sarongs were pretty fun, but again, limited selection. Free parking is always a good thing. read more

I haven't been in Yazdi in a while (a year?) so if my review seems out-of-date, I apologize... but... ....the clothes here are SOOOOOOO comfie. Nothing you can wear to the office or if you want to just "blend in" -- in other words, you're NOT going to find a simple black cocktail dress here! On the other hand, when you REALLY want something that people are going to talk about, this is the place. It's small, but crammed full of delicious stuff. They also have unbelievably great scarves and accessories to match the outfits. The staff is simply great at helping you mix-and-match without feeling like you're being SOLD something. It's located in the old school on Wallingford, so there's great off-street parking. Also, last time I was there, the basement of the school had a wonderful Indian restaurant, so you can make a lunch outing of it. Price-wise, it's surpisingly inexpensive for what you get. It's not Wal-Mart, but it's not Nordstrom's and certainly not couture. read more

I usually go to the Wallingford shop, with plans on visiting the others sometime. I love the variety of unusual, great clothing. The prices aren't for everyday wear, but then neither are the clothes, for me. But for special occasions, I always find great things to wear. My friend buys there often for work. Shopped here for many years. This is the last time. On many occasions while there I have found the staff to be indifferent and too young for the clientele. Today there were three people working between the two stores. One was playing games on phone, other steaming clothes behind desk and other out on the floor. I was not acknowledged at all. I have complained to managers before about their employees attitude. It continues. I will spend my money elsewhere in the future. read more

Sometimes its a challenge for guys to figure out just what to buy for a female friend. If, however, that friend 's tastes are eclectic, I'm betting you will be happy to check Yazdi out. I started going to the Kirkland branch of this store years ago, with my ex and always enjoyed looking at the various pieces they had from Indonesia while she tried things on. Much of the clothing was made there, and the owners seemed to bring back small pieces that dotted the store. Occasionally I'd sneak a purchase or have them put something aside for me to pick up later. I am a chicken to buy clothing for a woman that she hasn't tried on, but sometimes there are things there that you just know she's going to like. Scarves are easy and the jewelry selection is always terrific. Plenty of it is conventional, if you need to be safe, but frequently there are some rather unique pins, earrings & pendants that you just won't see elsewhere. The sales are pretty good too, but then there's that fear of sizes and such. I've lucked out a few times, when I knew that something is really "her colors" and the size thing wasn't so critical. The staff are always helpful and that makes a BIG difference to me. If I'm nervous about a purchase, hand holding, modeling & general congeniality goes a long way to help me make a decision. read more

I love beautiful clothes and find it frustrating there are not more choices available for luscious large bodies. Yazdi II has been my salvation. The clothes are comfortable, flowing, and feminine. About 75% of my day to day wardrobe is from their collections. I get many compliments when I'm out and about on what I'm wearing. I particularly appreciate having bohemian/ethnic/artistic designs that are appropriate to wear for professional occasions. read more

How to lose a good customer in one afternoon. After spending lots of cash at this store time after time I had a very disappointing experience with the current red haired sales person. I purchased approx. a month ago a lot of clothes - spending lots of money. I came across a pair of pants I was at the time of purchase uncertain about and decided to return them after all. Having not worn the pants I thought that the return would be accepted. Wrong. The store policy reads: "exchange excepted within two weeks" No exceptions Having never returned any clothing item at this store at all and being told that "See the fine print on the receipt" really turned me off. Perhaps Yazdi should broaden the "Return Policy" to keep good paying customers. read more

For normal sized women, this place is a treasure. We can find the comfortable clothes with a fashion flair that's is just a bit different from the Big Girl's line at Wal-Mart. Been shopping at all the Seattle area Yazdi shops for decades. But moved to Atlanta 3 years ago. Georgia has the biggest plus/super size population of women in the country and yet, NOT a single plus/super size boutique can be found. Not one. I've searched and searched. Even long life local plus sized residents don't know of one. Sure we have the boring, predictable chains like LaneBryant, Avenue, Catherines etc...but every year they put out what is little more than the same ol' bland, ill-fitting, matronly separates. And for the most part, since they stop at size 26 or 28 - don't even begin to fit the 4X to 7X population that is the plus size MAJORITY down here! SERIOUSLY! These Atlanta ladies are sausaging themselves into some scary looking polyester or tenting themselves in cheap online sweatshop caftans. I WANT A YAZDI IN ATLANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God those lovely Yazdi II folks are kind enough to text me pics so I can still buy my favorite styles and they rush pack them right off to me. I LOVE you Yazdi II. Miss you! read more

I have been almost exclusively shopping at Yazdi for at least 10 years. I loved the unique clothing and wonderful prices. I was so disappointed to hear that the Pike Place Market store was being sold. It was more reminiscent of the original Yazdi. I enjoyed the Wallingford store as well but it seemed to be a little more upscale but I could still find the clothes I loved. Well today when I went, there was absolutely nothing I was interested in! This was the last day of their sale (where I usually spend a fair amount of money) and the sale prices were higher than the original prices use to be. There was a rayon tank on sale for $44.00. Give me a break! Sale prices on those use to be around $9.00. I feel like the owner sold out..... It is really disappointing because it's not like I can go to another store with the same kinds of clothes - they don't exist. At least I don't think they do but you can bet I'm on a mission to find another place to shop. Good bye Yazdi. I have been a loyal customer spending a lot of money every year at Yazdi for the last 8 years or so. I love their clothing and it fits my style, even if it is over priced. I bought a large purchase which included some pants and a blouse. I had lost weight quickly so I needed a smaller pair of pants. I did not think it would be a big deal to switch since they had the pants in a smaller size. Oh, but it was. My receipt was 3 weeks old and I was told about the "2 week" exchange policy. I brought out the blouse I wanted to exchange still wrapped in paper and the manager? (woman with the red-auburn hair) unwrapped it and inspected it like a diamond for flaws. It was so uncomfortable and she found a bit of the fabric that was naturally made that way and declared that there was an oily man-made stain. I reminded her that the blouse came from the wrapping paper, that she had wrapped 3 weeks earlier. Didn't matter. Three weeks and you are stuck with your purchases. I gently reminded her of my loyalty but she was incredibly rude. I used to recommend Yazdi when people would compliment and ask me about my clothes but now I just say " Thank You". Yazdi lost a lot of business that afternoon. read more

There are two sides to Yazdi - regular size side and bigger size side. Regular size side has some unique and trendy clothes...bigger size side has some earthmother big drapey clothes. Both sides are expensive. If you are the earthmother model, they have lots of beautiful accessories ...and for a couple hundred dollars you can leave looking earthmother chic. read more

Having had 18 years experience in sales with Nordstrom, I am always impressed when a business meets up to the quality of customer service I was expected to give. In October of 2009 I found a scarf that I wanted, but let it get away. I called the Wallingford store and explained which scarf I was interested in. They told me they had none of the color I wanted but may get some in the future. Five months later, YES 5 months! I got a call that a new shipment of many colors of this same group of scarves had arrived. I could not believe after that time my request would be remembered! I went to the store to find it in TIP TOP SHAPE with GREAT MERCHANDISE and SUPERB SERVICE. It was a wonderful experience! If you are looking for FABULOUS bohemian style clothing that fits modern style and jewerly and accessories that you will not find anywhere else....THIS BE THE PLACE! This is a great business with very sweet sales folk whom I have been purchasing from since they were downtown and then in the market. Wallingford Center is definitely the best of the locations, free parking and a big store with civilized dressing rooms. Many designs and fabrics are incredibly beautiful. I have simple staples that I buy regularly here. They are wardrobe basics for work and vacation. I also find other things, beautiful neutral shirts and pants that I wind up wearing with other types of clothing. Whenever I have a gift for a woman to buy, or a man who likes flamboyant scarves, I hit the scarf racks. These are treasures that are always loved by the receiver, especially if I think about what their favored colors are. Jewelry is very nicely selected here, and I always peruse those treasures when I need gifts, no matter what the age of the recipient. I am a taller person, so sometimes I have to hunt for pants and shirts that have long enough legs and arms. I have been able to find them at Yazdi. I sometimes call before I go to find out if they have what I am looking for in stock. They will put things on hold for three days. This is especially helpful for those times when I find things I was not intending to shop for, although I usually succumb after I have thought it over. I was held a fashion hostage because Lane Bryant kept trying to appeal to a younger audience and Wal-Mart did not have clothing on the professional level I needed. Although I live in Texas the gals are great about packing up my requests and they are at the door in2-3 days. Their clothing shrinks even if not put in the dryer. Their instructions to iron do not hep. If the clothes don't shrink they fray around the waistband. For the prices they charge, the quality should be much better. read more

The fabric of their cloths in wonderful and the price is very affordable. You can buy designer clothing if you like paying a fortune, but you won't find a better deal than at Yazdi. Lovely accessories, and honest advice always. I must have tried on more than 20 items today before finding one that worked.
