What a great experience here. Clean and spacious interior. Fast and friendly service, nice genuine people. Excellent tiger house roll. My daughter enjoyed her salmon avo and sweet potato tempura rolls. Gyoza soup and edamame were solid. Fried banana and green tea ice cream. Affordable. Go there!!!

This place was great! Food was made quickly and tasted amazing. Service was excellent, wait staff were very attentive. The place is small but has decent seating. It was very clean. Everything is made in house, sauces and all. We were impressed.

If you've ever tried finding a solid raw bar in Kingston after 9pm, you already know... it feels like a late-night treasure hunt with zero treasure . BUT somehow, we struck gold and found Yasuda--worth every second of the search. We got there around 8:45 (no, timing was not intentional, no regrets ), and from the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect. Amazing atmosphere, super welcoming, and the kind of place that instantly feels like a "why haven't I been here before?" spot. The service? 10/10. Everyone--from the owner/the sushi chef--was genuinely personable, attentive, and made us feel taken care of the entire night. The waiter Salmon, was amazing 10/10. Not trying to be funny not sure if he spells it that way but he was amazing!! And the food... WOW. The Toro? Unreal. Melt-in-your-mouth, life-questioning levels of good. Every single dish we ordered was a 10/10, but the Toro especially stood out--fresh, flavorful, and done perfectly. As if that wasn't enough, they surprised us with a beautiful complimentary gift set at the end, which just sealed the deal. Whether you're planning a dinner with your best friend or trying to impress someone special, Yasuda is IT. Kingston after 9pm might be a struggle...no raw bar however!!!!! but this place makes the search 100% worth it.

Shrimp Tempura Lunch Box Special
Laura D.

Came to lunch with my daughter today. She got spring rolls & hibachi noodles. I got the shrimp tempura lunch box special. This came with California rolls, white rice, veggies and Shumai. There was also a salad & miso soup (which we devoured before I could take a picture. Oh dear! It's a lot. I'm going to be eating this for a while. (Because I have a small stomach) SO good. The waiter is super nice and patient. The music is soft and just a nice ambiance in the background. It's not overly lit up but the front wall is all windows so it's plenty light enough. I really do enjoy eating here. Though I usually get it to go.

Loved the sushi sandwich and the rest of the rolls were great too. Also tried the tuna dumplings which were a favorite. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Good sushi in ''midtown" Kingston! Great lunch specials make it one of our favorites. They even have loyalty rewards program (a free app or miso soup yes pls!). I like their speciality rolls but all the simpler options never disappoint either. Even for dinner prices are very reasonable and always tastes fresh. Casual vibe inside. Staff is always very friendly and accommodating! Only good things to say about Yasuda!

Seaweed Salad

Great experience at Yasuda! We started with the seaweed salad, gyoza, and spring rolls. All were very tasty and it came out very quickly! We then got vegetable and shrimp fried rice which was absolutely perfect. The shrimp was cooked so well and the veggies were tender. So delicious! For our sushi, we got the rainbow roll and the Kingston roll. Again, just very well done. Couldn't get pics because I dove right into eating. Our service was great, our waitress was so friendly and happy to serve us. The place is very quaint inside! We were so happy to hear music playing from the Studio Ghibli movies! Will 100% be coming back.

Salmon Teriyaki Dinner Bento box with soft shell crab
Shirley L.

Came by to Yasuda during my visit to Catskills. Their waitresses are all very friendly and provided wonderful service. I got the Salmon teriyaki bento box and the salmon was cooked just right. It came with salad and miso soup. The soft shell crab appetizer was a bit disappointing since it seems like the breading is either the breading is over cooked. Overall I would definitely come back in the future if I am in area! Can't go wrong with great staffs and decent food.

I think your rice is too soft. Mango is not sweet. Not very tasty beef. I hope you will improve.

It's conveniently located on Wall Street in uptown Kingston and has delicious sandwiches for a light lunch. We got the Sweetie Pie wrap and the roasted Eggplant sandwich and both were delicious. The goat cheese is really good on the wrap and the eggplant was so flavorful and went great with the pesto. Service was quick and the people working were very nice. They also have lots of vegan options too. Will definitely be back!

Usually the gentrification restaurants in uptown Kingston have decent food, I was looking forward to my meal and a coffee. I ordered the Country Wrap and a coffee, very straightforward. I took my seat, and assumed that the coffee would be ready when they called my name for the food. Once my name was called and I retrieved my food from the counter, I hesitantly, but politely asked where the coffee is (I am a non-confrontational guy). I was informed that the coffee was self serve and saw behind me the coffee machines. This is my fault, I should have noticed the coffee pots when I walked in, but alas, I didn't notice until after I paid and left a tip, the percentage one would leave at a restaurant with full service. Once I got to my seat with my food and what I thought was a hot drink, I took a bite into my wrap. To my surprise it was mostly bulked up with sweet potatoes and eggs, two cheap staple foods, the bacon was noticeably sparse, and the kind that comes in industrial cardboard box that one might find in the chest freezer of a doomsday prepper, and the cheese was unnoticeable. I should have known something was wrong when I looked at the menu, again my fault, but I don't typically associate sweet potatoes with a "country breakfast", as those usually use a regular potato like a Yukon or Russet. I took my first sip of coffee approximately 5 minutes after I had dispensed it from the machine, it was slightly below room temperature. Now someone might ask "How could unrefrigerated coffee be BELOW room temperature?!?" Well the answer is that if you pour cold half and half into room temperature coffee, it will drop a few degrees. As I finished my meal and room temperature drink, and left the establishment, I noticed an "Equal Exchange" coffee sticker in the window, I did not feel like I had gotten an equal exchange for the approximately $15 + 25% tip I had paid. I felt a tinge of hypocrisy when I noticed how many stickers for progressive causes there were throughout the establishment, yet they are seemingly not paying their employees enough to the point that they feel the need to have a 25% preset tip option on the iPad that asks you a few questions, at a basically self service restaurant.

Our trusty Yelp app led us to this historic building and restaurant. I'm really glad we came to see some truly great architecture and learn some cool history of life before these United States. Even though the British tried to burn it down during the Revolutionary War, the family restored it to previous glory and it remained in their possession for over 200 more years! Now let's talk about the restaurant experience.... We were seated immediately and given a choice of indoor or covered outdoor seating. Laura came to get a drink order and offered some kids specials. She also put in our daughter's order right away so that she would be occupied and well fed. A chicken quesadilla with fries won her over and filled her up nicely. A bowl of New England clam chowder to start for me followed by a delicious Mushroom Omelette special. So fresh and tasty. The Mad Ukrainian ( formally MR or Mad Russian until the war broke out) had a delicious Reuben Sandwich with fries and a Garden Salad. After the salad and a half sandwich, she decided to save some room for dessert at another place nearby. Pair that up with a couple of local Beers and some soft drinks and coffee and we had an enjoyable lunch. Pricing is excellent compared to home prices and we ate with leftovers, drank, and got a historical glimpse back in time for less than $70. Home run in my book!

The waitresses are great and attentive. They have complimentary buttered bread which was a great starter. The meatball was amazing, words cannot describe it and the pastas were perfect with handmade noodles and the mushrooms just melted in your mouth. The restaurant layout is a little eccentric, but cute in a erratic way. There was the restaurant, an alcove, and a back patio. We sat in the alcove. We ordered the fresh made pasta with tomato and basil. That was very soft and the five year old ate up the half portion. (By the way they do have half portions.) We ordered the lamb ragu, which was very hearty and filling. I also ordered the pasta with seafood, which had heaping amounts of seafood. I think all were pretty fairly priced, considering the quality. The waitress we had was amazing. She helped us get our kid settled and knew exactly what she needed. She made some great suggestions and was overall the best. Great place!
