Words cannot describe how wonderful it was to work with Yass for our wedding. My husband's father is from Iran and it was very important to him and to us that we had authentic Persian food at our wedding. While my husband is from Orange County, we were getting married 4 hours north in San Luis Obispo and there was not an option close by. Yass worked with us and our venue to bring the most INCREDIBLE variety of Persian food and spread of teas and desserts to our big day in the most beautiful ways. She traveled to and from multiple times leading up to and during the wedding weekend to bring decorations and serving stations and then the food and team to help her make everything on site. Our friends, family and vendors have reached out multiple times since to tell us how amazing the food and the presentation was and we were so lucky and grateful to have Yass and her incredible talent at our wedding and that she took such great care of us and the major task it was to execute that day. Everything went very smooth, she helped me create the menu and did a great job decorating the different stations(pastries and fruit, tea station, and appetizers). We used Yass Catering for our daughter's wedding on September 24. We had 270 guests and paid for them based on the agreed amount ahead of time. At the dinner time we found out half of promised dishes such as chicken and beef kebab were not delivered, i.e. after the first 100 guests started taking dinner these items were no longer available. Worse than that was when 220 of our guests had dinner. At that point there was no food left for the rest. The lady in charge of catering was rude and told us your guests had too much food!!! Many comments to the lady in charge were dropped on deaf ears and the answers were arrogant and non logical. I would not recommend having this catering for even a small party let alone for a wedding. If we had time we would have taken the owner to the court since they really screwed up the best night of my daughter's life by being cheap and greedy. read more

We used Yass catering for our party and it turned out to be a huge disappointment, unfortunately. We had high hopes for things to be special and perfect for my big day, but their service was not nearly close to satisfaction. My biggest issue was that Yass failed in meeting most of her commitments. She also turned out to be dishonest and kept changing her word regularly throughout our discussions over time (even though I started planning my party 3 months in advance). To add, she failed to attend my party herself and instead send some of her other team members. Her staff were extremely nice, but the service wasn't that great. For example, they failed to serve the food properly (didn't have spoons for kashke bademjoon), didn't have enough dishes with them and kept wasting time to wash and re-use plastic dishes, etc. The food quality and quantity was also very poor. Even their own staff was very surprised of how little food was prepared for 70 people. This is in spite of specific prior arrangements through the 3-month planning, and is one more example of Yass failing to meet her commitments. Kokoo sabzi did not taste good (according to a majority of our guests, it was full of garlic), tachin was old as if it was prepared three days prior, kotlet was terrible and I saw multiple people throwing it out after one bite! The cheese appetizer setup was probably enough for 10 people. I was lucky to be able to make last minute arrangements during the party with a different restaurant and ordered kabobs for our guests (she did finally agree to cover the cost though). The only positive feedback is that her decorations were really beautiful. But even then, she changed her word with regards to the linens several times. In summary, my experience with Yass catering was horrible. This is based on their low quality service, failing to meet their commitments, inaccurate food quantity, poor food quality and lack of taking responsibility for it.
