I can not believe how amazing our experience was with this catering company. They catered our daughters wedding at Crystal Cove on 10/15. The had catered events there in the past so they knew what they were walking into.....No electricity, no running water and an outdoor venue where they had to bring their "Kitchen" to the parking lot. But what none of us could imagine was that it would rain and rain hard during the event. This did not seem to deter them. The food was HOT, and delicious. They plated 175 salads and then 175 dinners. Their servers were gracious, quick and so sweet. The servers were dripping wet as they had to carry plated meals through the rain to our tables in the tent. They did not complain and were joyful and helpful. One of the servers caught the attention of one of our family members who was blind. This server walked her into the tent when it started raining and gave special attention to her throughout the evening. I will recommend this catering company to everyone who is looking to cater a diner, a party or a wedding. They nailed every aspect of our event through unusual circumstances and i could not be more grateful!!!!! I do not think five stars is a high enough rating for this amazing catering company. Hands down the best catering food (and service) I've ever had! We had Fork in the Road cater appetizers, sides and main course for our wedding and it was the highlight of many of our guests' night. First impressions are a big deal and Fork in the Road won me over from day one. Marisa, Founder and Director of Operations was so responsive and professional. She promptly returned my emails, answered my calls, and gave me great guidance when I asked her about set up, food amount, etc. I ended up doing a full-service themed buffet, and I'm so glad I did. The Fork in the Road crew took care of everything! (Shout out to Natasha, Andrew, and Lana!) They set up a gorgeous display and food just kept magically appearing. They gauged the crowd to see when they should start and stop tray passed hors d'ourvres, when they should start buffet service, and when to clean up. They cleaned everything up like they had never even been there, and packed up all the extra food and put it in my fridge. This crew knew what they were doing and took care of everything! I wish I had pictures to share but I was so busy mingling and not worrying about catering that I completely forgot! I am definitely using them the next time I need a caterer. read more

Fork in the Road catered our wedding and all we heard from the people that attended was how good the food was. Throughout the whole process Marisa was super communicative, answered all our questions and was able to accommodate the dietary restrictions. The onsite team leads made an effort to introduce themselves to my bride and I on our wedding day, which was nice. The staff was very kind and helpful throughout the whole night, we got servers and bartenders through Fork in the Road. There were tons of compliments on the fun and creative passed appetizers, the chicken and waffle bite was a big hit! The food was great! read more

Top quality food. We catered a party of fifty plus folks and everyone was satisfied with the taste and presentation overall.

I could not write this review fast enough! I was absolutely delighted by the excellent food and service that Fork in the Road Catering provided for my holiday party. It was outstanding all-around. The on-site team was proactive, attentive and enjoyable people to have in my home. I'm still salivating thinking about the Beef Wellingtons & the caramel budino's they were serving up that evening. Everything was top notch! I will absolutely be using them for any & all event's! Thank you FITRC, you guys nailed it! read more

First of all, I decided to throw a party within 6 days of a holiday weekend so it was extremely short notice and a difficult weekend for availability. Fork in the Road was the ONLY catering place that immediately answered my email. 5 stars My party kept growing, I kept adding more food and Fork in the Road kept reassuring me that they could meet my crazy requests on short notice...and they did. 5 stars I could not count the number of times that my guests gushed over the food and asked "Who Catered this, the food is delicious"...and it was. 5 stars. I was fortunate enough to meet Kyle, one of the founders of Fork in the Road after my event. He and his wife are consummate professionals who do a fantastic job and only strive to improve by welcoming and encouraging any feedback...5 stars. Fantastic...oh and did I mention the catering menu? Superb and creative with trending selections...5 stars read more

The Fork in the Road team catered our wedding and the food was so good!! We worked with Marisa in scheduling a tasting and enjoyed trying the delicious options. It was just my husband and I at the tasting kitchen and the experience was one of our favorites in the wedding planning process. As our wedding date approached, Marisa responded to all of our questions and ensured we were good to go! Our guests were raving about the small bites during the cocktail hour, specifically the chicken and waffles. Dinner was delicious and the service was great. They even made sure we had plenty of water and coffee throughout the night. I would highly recommend Fork in the Road for special events! read more

We hired Fork in the Road to cater a celebration of life event in my back yard and they were awesome! Marisa was terrific to deal with on the front end. She was prompt in responding to inquiries. The menu options were well laid out and the choices plentiful. The costs were very reasonable. Tables were delivered as scheduled and Kyle, the chef, and his assistant Linda arrived on time and were well-organized. And the food was excellent! The shrimp and crab cakes were a favorite. Our guests at the event complimented the food choices and ate well. Everything went so smoothly; I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe get more of the shrimp and crab cakes! read more

We asked Fork in the Road to cater our housewarming party on December 30. They did a spectacular job for us! We went with the two sandwiches option plus a nice, fresh butter lettuce salad and fruit platter and no one was disappointed in their selections. The salmon sandwich was absolutely delicious and the salmon was so fresh and tasty. Everyone also raved about the skirt steak sandwiches! The young man who delivered our order was very professional, he came at the appointed hour and set everything up for us. Marisa, whom I dealt with at the company, was helpful and clear with what I should expect. Our entire experience with Fork in the Road was pleasant, effortless on our part, and I would definitely refer them, and use them again. In fact, I found out about them from someone who went to one of the parties that they had catered, and I greatly appreciate having received that referral! read more

Chef Kyle and Marissa are absolutely amazing. My wife and I have been planning a kind-of last minute wedding reception for the last 2-3 months and we wanted to keep it low key and simple and within a tight budget (we've got a lot going on right now). Searching for a caterer that fit our needs and budget wasn't easy but after searching yelp and contacting a few, Fork in the Road stood out as the clear answer. Not only was Marissa very quick to respond, she was extremely helpful throughout the entire process as our guest count and dietary needs were changing. She was very patient with us as we looked through their options and was very understanding as we worked with our budget. We chose to do buffet style for our reception and we had a nice dinner tasting with Chef Kyle, who is absolutely awesome. There were plenty of options to choose from and we actually had a hard time deciding which to try cause they all sounded great. They even tasted better than they sounded. Chef was accommodating to our taste and catered the flavors to the season and to our taste. On the actual wedding day, Chef and his staff came early and helped set up. His staff was amazing and did a wonderful job serving and keeping the tables cleaned. Chef even offered to buy some of the things we forgot and helped us relieve some stress. Everyone LOVED the food, even my picky family members. There was more than enough food to go around and the abundance of leftovers we had, guests were taking home. The food was easily the highlight of the night and we are 1000000% glad we chose Fork in the Road as our caterer. If you're looking for someone to cater your event, do not hesitate one second and pick them. You will not be disappointed!! Bonus: Chef and his staff even helped clean up the linens and rentals afterwards. They are absolutely amazing. read more

We used Fork in the Road Catering for our recent wedding and could not have been happier. We had to change our original wedding plans and venue to something more intimate with family at home. Their food and staff transformed our at home wedding into what felt like a real venue. Luther the bartender was the life of the party! Their full service catering was exactly what we wanted since we no longer had a venue and wedding coordinator. Marisa was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and everyone who cooked and worked our reception made sure every detail was perfect and every person was attended to. Fork in the Road Catering is the absolute best! Incomparable excellence is the best way to describe Fork in the Road Catering. Based on our experience, you can rest assured Fork in the Road Catering will exceed your expectations. Here's why. We hosted two separate parties to celebrate our son's graduation from Chapman. Our experience from start to finish could not have been better. As we are not local, all the planning was done via email and phone. Marisa was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process. She customized a menu that was perfect for college students as well as parents and relatives. In fact, the culinary excellence was worthy of the highest Michelin star rating. For passed hors d'oeuvres we had Fried Chicken & Waffles, Ahi Poke Bowls with black Indonesian rice, Mini Beef Wellingtons, Pork Belly Wontons, Mushroom Crostini, and Stone Fruit Caprese. The entrée course consisted of a gourmet slider station with beef, braised beef short rib, and shrimp and crab cake sliders. The sliders were accompanied by epicurean sides such as bourbon bacon jam, yellow curry bream, and caramelized onions. Our guests loved the food! In addition to providing amazing food, the service was outstanding. Chef Jenn and her assistants arrived on time, set-up in the kitchen, brought all serving trays and dishes, and left the kitchen spotless. However, that's not all. Because the parties were on the 2nd floor of a Newport Beach home with no elevator, Chef Jenn and her assistants had to carry all the food, trays, dishes etc. up and down a flight of stairs. Our offer to help was politely declined. But that's still not all. I noticed during the party that the entryway floormat was askew as people were going in and out of the home. Our chef noticed the same thing, and I observed her quietly re-situate the mat! This is just one example of the incredible attention to detail that made our events a huge success with our guests. We feel so fortunate to have found Fork in the Road Catering. Thanks to their superb food and service, our son and our guests will have lasting memories of a wonderful celebration. Thank you Marisa, Chef Jenn, and the entire FITRC team! read more

I've been eyeing on this catering company for about a year now and we had finally decided to give them a try based on food selections, our budget, customer sevice and reviews. I'm so glad we did. It was for my son's christening. Marisa and Kyle are just amazing! Marisa promptly responded to my email and answered all of my questions. She was even able to honor my request to deliver the food 30 mins earlier than the original plan (I was so glad they were available to do it). Upon arrival, her husband was so nice, friendly and professional. The food was top notch! It was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!! All of them! From the bread rolls to salad to the main entrees and side dishes. I was concerned in the beginning that the food might not be enough... but I was sooo wrong. Amazing portions and the food are just soooo good. Our family and godparents couldn't stop talking about how yummy the food were. Definitely a great choice! Tap on the back for me! Hahaha. My husband and I really appreciate them and are very happy with your service. You guys are amazing and we highly recommend them. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We would definitely get you guys again whenever we need catering service. Thank you again and stay safe! read more

Many compliments from our 75 guest. Received multiple calls after the event request Fork in the Road business contact information. Service was 5 star. Fork in the Road Catering is awesome from the beginning stage of our party planning to the end! Marisa made the process simple and efficient. On the day of our party, Kyle & his server came early to prep. By 12:30pm, the starting time of our luncheon, the food was ready. Food was beautifully presented , great quality and so delicious! On top of that, the service was impeccable! When they left, our kitchen was sparkling clean as how it was then they arrived. We highly highly recommend this wonderful caterer! I can't say enough about fork in the road! Marisa, and Kyle were lovely to work with. We spent a couple months before hand planning for my aunts 75th birthday celebration. From menu, to tables, chairs, and other logistics. She responded quickly through email or phone. The day of the event her team arrived on time and quickly began to set up. We had passed appetizers or shrimp and grits, gumbo shooters, and fried green tomatoes. For dinner we had Mac n cheese, fried chicken, greens, strawberry salad, biscuits and cornbread. There was a little mishap with the food and not being explained the "brining" process of the chicken ahead of time. But in the end it's worked out and the food was delicious. The next day for in the road catered a brunch for me as well. Everything from the service and food was more than what we could've expected! We will definitely reach out to Marisa, Kyle and their team in the future! Thank you it was an amazing experience. read more

Where do you start with Fork in the Road Catering? To say that this family run catering business is (insert the most positive adjective you can think of) would be an understatement. All I can possibly say is that you NEED to give Marissa and Kyle a call if you need catering...and prepare for the red carpet treatment with some of the most amazing food you have ever had! It is utterly impossible to overstate both the quality of food and the amazing treatment you get from Kyle and Marissa. The following is from my experience. First, you cant have more wonderful people to cater your event. My wife and I got engaged and were in need of a caterer for our reception. We called Fork in the Road and we were absolutely impressed from the beginning. The great thing about this company is that Marissa and Kyle let you pick what you want to eat. Most catering businesses make you choose from a fixed menu....NOT AT FORK. My fiance and I met with Kyle and Marissa two times. The first time was to discuss what kind of food we like, ingredients we love and hate, and what our overall idea was in terms of food and appetizers for our wedding reception. Boy...we were not disappointed. Following our initial meeting to discuss ingredients we were given a complimentary tasting based on what we communicated in our initial meeting in terms of our likes and dislikes. The tasting far exceeded our expectations and while there were certain ingredients that we were not necessarily thrilled about along with other ingredients we would like to have in the dishes, Kyle and Marissa worked with us to ensure our menu was exactly what we were looking for... Our food ended up absolutely amazing!!! We had the Pork Cakes, mini grilled cheese with homemade tomato soup, hummus, bacon jam, Roast Beef, the most amazing chicken you have ever eaten, salad, veggies, and cous cous.... You know the food is great when your guests are still talking about how wonderful it was 4 weeks after the wedding. We loved the taste, the appearance of the dishes, and we could not have been happier. Additionally, Marissa helped us coordinate our chair rentals as we had to bring in all of our rentals into our venue. Marissa got us an amazing deal on chairs and helped coordinate the set up of the chairs on the day of our wedding....we could not have imagined working with anyone else to make our special day so perfect. If this were a restaurant...it would be a five star and packed every night...YOU MUST TRY FORK IN THE ROAD!!!! read more

Fork in the Road Catering did an amazing job catering for our event. The staff was extremely professional, friendly, and very accomodating. One staff member even went out of her way to make one of our guests a plain grilled cheese. They showed up on time and went to work setting up. As for the food... wow! Everything was delicious. The shrimp was amazing, the lobster roll was so good, but I think the fan favorite was the short rib pop tart. This was our first time using Fork in the Road Catering but it will definitely not be our last, with their extensive menu, I can't wait for our next event. read more

I work for a art college in Laguna beach and every year we have our graduate exhibitions with light food and beverages. This year I wanted to Try something new. I searched high and low... fork in the road really caught my eye. Loved the details to the spread online. I decided to go ahead and book them for 2 events. Blindly not knowing how this would go. They knocked my socks off! Marissa is so helpful and the Chef made exceptional finger delights for our guests. The display was beautiful and the continued comments about the food and display of food are still coming in. One big plus! I hired the bartenders from Marissa as well. I have to say, we loved the staff so much we requested both of them for the second event. Hire Fork in the Road for a lovely catering experience. read more

Everything we have ordered from Fork in the Road has been amazing! We started ordering catering meals when the quarantine cooking fatigue started. Lol. Chicken Fajitas with cilantro rice & black beans were SO good and even the sides of guacamole & salsa were fresh, delicious & homemade. Beef Brisket with veggies and Mac-N-Cheese was a hit. The Mac-N-Cheese was positively addictive! Seafood & Sausage gumbo was delicious! Fried chicken with biscuits and sage maple syrup was awesome. The portions are good sized and lasted a few days of leftovers for us. FITR was referred to us by a friend who knows the owner & I'm so glad we tried it! Incredible! From my first conversation with Marissa, to the order process, pick up and then the eating(!) I was so so impressed by their professionalism and friendliness. We ordered a Father's Day meal which consisted of tri tip steak marinated in something incredible, roasted potatoes, roasted veg seasoned to perfection, chimichurri sauce, bbq sauce, salad (with blackberries, zucchini, seeds, pickled onions omg amazing) and bread rolls. Due to overeating at breakfast we never got around to eating the meal on Father's Day! So we saved it to the day after. So bear in mind this food has now sat in the fridge for 2 days.... It was still absolutely delicious! The meat was still soft and juicy, the salad still completely fresh and crisp. Honestly one of the best "take out" meals I have ever eaten. These guys are fantastic and I will 100% use them again. Thank you fork in the road catering. read more

With working mandatory overtime, as a nurse, during this Covid-19 crisis, having healthy, home cooked, carefully and safely prepared meals has taken so much stress off.
