Always appreciate the team at Yarnell's! FAR cheaper than going to the dealer, and I definitely trust their work. I got a full health check from a different shop but came to Yarnell's for a second opinion because of the laundry list of scary issues the first place noted which totaled $3,000 worth of repairs. Rick went through that whole list line by line and explained each one to me and why they weren't "catastrophic" problems as the other place had said; he just promised to keep an eye on them whenever we brought the car in. I've been bringing our Camry in to Yarnell's for its regular service ever since. At my most recent checkup, our dashbox hinge was broken but I forgot to mention it; they must have caught it while checking our filters and made the fix with no charge or mention of it on the report. I decided to stay with the car rather than drop it off and they completed the oil change and service in about 30 minutes! Yarnell's has cheerful and competent workers who do great service. The two cute pups they have roaming around the shop also make each visit a joy :) this is the place to bring your car! read more

This business is a pot of gold in a sea of shameless scammers. I took my car, purchased at Anderson Honda in Palo Alto, to Yarnell's, after Anderson Honda told me I needed five things done, during a visit to replace a key fob. I strongly suspected they were being dishonest, so I told the service representative from Anderson that I had recently replaced the battery in my car with the one rated for the vehicle and was going to do my research by taking the car to Yarnell's. Note: One of the things they told me was that my battery, which was less than nine months old, was bad. Fast forward to today, when Yarnell's told me exactly and precisely what I thought they would, that NOTHING Anderson Honda said I needed to have repaired required actual repair. Kudos to everyone at Yarnell's! May the car gods shine upon you and give you overwhelmingly good fortune! And as for you, Anderson Honda, may you wear the shame you so richly deserve like a red flashing light intended to drive customers anywhere but to your door! read more

I made a appointment over the phone, and then took my car in for service. They did not perform as they said they would. They said it would take an hour; they were done in 37 minutes. On the phone they quoted me $230; instead, they charged me $140. I will investigate by taking my car here again next time I need service, to see if this pattern continues. read more

I must have SUCKER stamped on my forehead. I'm not getting HOSED! Yarnell's wanted to charge me the same pricing as the dealer charges. BUT!!!! they said they'd have to remove the alternator to replace the lower radiator hose, and, they said maybe some other hoses needed to be replaced but the know what kind of hoses. I called the dealer who said it's only necessary to remove an engine cover plate on the bottom. Funny thing though, only the top hose was leaking, and they showed me this. I replaced the upper hose myself- it was less than $30 for the hose and took me less than a half hour. The only tool I needed was a screw driver. read more

They answer the phone and are honest dealing people. I had them look at the brakes on my Honda CR-V this summer because a cheap oil change provider said I needed them. Yarnell's said I didn't need them for a few more months, and didn't charge me a penny. Fast forward a few months, and they changed my front brakes, and said I still didn't need rear brakes, plus took care of my oil change, AWD fluid, tire rotation, AND the rodent damage to the wiper fluid pump wire and hose, all for a fair amount. They are pleasant to deal with and I recommend them to anyone who appreciates honest, fair-dealing, quality auto service. read more

I had a very positive experience here to repair mechanical parts on my car. The services was completed MUCH less cost than the original estimate. I have been using Yarnell for more than 10 years but this experience reconfirmed why I can continue to rely on them for my car troubles and maintenance. After the initial estimate by Yarnell staff, I asked another shop down the road (The one that is supposed to offer Costco discount). The other shop told me 5 times higher quote for just to start and the final cost would be 7-8 times more than what I ended up paying Yarnell's final bill. Don't get fooled by Costco discount offer! I brought my car into Yarnell's for an oil and filter change. When I got home ( 5 miles) I decided to check the oil level to make sure it was properly filled. When I checked the dip stick I was alarmed to see there was no oil showing. I added a quart of oil that brought the level up to just below the "Add Oil " level. Another 1/2 quart brought it into the proper fill range. Inadequate oil could lead to some expensive engine damage if left unchecked. This is the second time ( and the last ) that this has happened to me at Yarnell's. In trying to increase their profit by $5 from shorting the oil change by a quart, they have lost me as a customer. read more

My daughter brought her Toyota Prius to Yarnell's because she had some leaking fluid. Yarnell's was very efficient and affordable and fixed the problem right away. We were pleased. So I decided to bring my Subaru in; I had a clutch that had been improperly installed by a different shop during prior service work, and it was very grabby/juddery in first gear. Yarnell's knew exactly what the problem was and were aware that a specific type of spacer is needed on Subaru's - it's not something that is often even documented by Subaru. But Yarnell's work on my clutch fixed the problem that the prior shop had caused and now my clutch works perfectly. The clutch pedal was incorrectly adjusted by the prior shop as well; and after getting the clutch replaced by Yarnell's I noticed that with the new clutch and the bad pedal adjustment, something didn't feel quite right. When I brought the car back to Yarnell's they were super responsive and fixed the pedal adjustment right away. While I would have wished that they had caught that the first time, I'm still very satisfied that in an imperfect world where "stuff happens", Yarnell's was able to take care of me and get everything sorted at no extra charge. I will be returning to Yarnell's after my great experiences there. (And by the way, their work was less expensive than the prior shop's bodged efforts!) read more

Let me start by saying that this is my first time at Yarnell and I really didn't know what to expect. On 1 29 22, my 2010 Honda Odd van engine was making a loud noise. My usual mechanic said that the engine needed to be taken apart to find out what was making the loud noise. He said worse case, engine rebuilt costing around 8000 dollars. My neighbor told me to take my van to Yarnell because he had heard nothing but good reviews about Yarnell. There, I met "MIKE" who told me that he would take care of and he did. Later, after taking apart the engine, Mike said the problem was the timing belt tensioner. He broke down the price (labor and parts), which was very reasonable. In a few days, Mike was done with my van. I also found out from "Rick" who works behind the counter that Yarnell had worked quickly to secure the part I needed for repair. After he explained how it was done, I was more than impressed. I would not hesitate recommending Yarnell to my friends and family. I found both Mike and Rick to be honesty citizens. They did not try to sell me anything else. They fixed the problem and gave me my van back. I would go back in a heart beat. Mike and Rick taught me a valuable lesson when replacing your timing belt, and water hose. You want to make sure that the timing belt tensioner is replaced at the same time. It will save you 600 dollars later on should your tensioner goes out bc they have to take apart the engine again. read more

i want to start off by saying that i'm a woman in my mid 20's, and trying to find a place to take your cars for repairs is SO intimidating (at least it is for me!). after looking on yelp a bit, decided to call yarnell's. they were so kind and patient on the phone, and were able to get my car in the next day. when i dropped my car off, every single person i talked to was SO nice, and i just immediately trusted that they were going to be honest and very fair with me- which they were. my car was ready the next day, and was exactly what i was expecting to pay, honestly even a little bit less.
