It was reminiscent of my childhood fave candy, Tart-n-tini. It is their signature drink, made of Absolut Pears, Triple Sec, Apple Pucker, Creme de Violette & fresh squeezed lemon. Yum! This bar has swagger! The velvety bar stools are stylish & comfy. The background music is upbeat & makes you feel like you're on a mini-vacay. They have 3 flat screen tv's in the bar area, which help to detract from the minimal crowd. But... This spot has only been open since Nov 2010, so the clientele is just building. Because this is such a wonderful location & cool bar, it will surely succeed! I'll be back for sure. My only negative comment: PLEASE chill your martini glasses prior to serving!

I haven't stayed a night here but I will soon. I had a pleasant evening last night at the hotel bar Vive. It's not really a hip bar (only due to the lack of customers) but it does offer hotel guests and locals a cool place to have a few drinks. Alex is a friendly and cool bartender there. The bar is clean and trendy. Had a great time hanging out with some tourists from NYC. Check it out if you're in the area.

I ultimately ordered the Sautéed Garlic Shrimp with butternut squash risotto. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were rich and creamy. Also, Eddie kept my water glass filled and made me feel special and welcomed. The ambiance at the Fountain Lounge is classic luxury. Plus, the staff is always on point. They even remembered my special occasion when I last dined there. Plus, the team was attentive and quite friendly. My only complaint is that the piano is no longer there. Apparently, the powers that be decided to remove the soul of the restaurant. In the days of old, a pianist played sets during dinner. Not only did it make guests truly appreciate the musical style of New Orleans, but the melodic music also drew others into the restaurant. What a shame to have lost the heart and soul of the restaurant. Yet, the staff does their best to create a warm and welcoming environment, while the chefs provide truly top notch cuisine. Whether staying at the Roosevelt or simply enjoying the French Quarter, the Fountain Lounge is a perfect place to enjoy delicious cuisine and top notch service.

It is very dim lighting with bar seating, couch seating, and table seating with table lamps. It is a pretty big space with lots of walking room. We ordered at the bar because at 1:30, they didn't do table service. We got a glass of Prosecco and a Hugo spritz. It was so refreshing and just what we needed. Service was quick. I thought it was pricey, but we were in a nice hotel in NOLA.

No music, no food service, or anything that shows that tried to create a nice vibe. It's literally just some chairs on the rooftop. The bar has a bartender, not mixologist, who makes drinks that I can make better at home. The little drinks are served un-garnished in tiny plastic cups and cost $15+. Not to mention they will take whatever tip amount they like out if you forget to close your tab. So my basic plastic cup of lemon, sugar, and a splash of vodka (I can't even call it a lemon drop) was $20. I wish I had taken a photo of how tiny the cups are.

Yes, I learned some things about the culture and people of New Orleans and I got a few good pictures but I wouldn't recommend this at all. I was hoping to get a picture with my sister as indicated on the website but I didn't see anyone offer that or see it as an option once we made it there. I thought the mini story in the elevator was fun, short of course but they need to restructure this place I honestly was unimpressed. The website suggest it takes an hour and a half to experience the whole place, we walked the whole place, took pictures, watched 2 videos in well under an hour and a half. The employees were very nice and helpful; maybe I expected to much of Vue but I say temper your expectations.

Inside, Tonique was the eye of the storm, dim, tight, buzzing with locals, drunks, vagrants drifting through, and a gaggle of business bros with no concept of anything outside their tiny echo chamber. Desmond was holding it down like an air traffic controller with a lighter and a grudge. Speed, snark, and skill balanced like a pro. I watched him build five classics at a time, clean and fast, no mixology cosplay, no wasted motion. Trinidad Sours landing with that bitter, spicy swagger, and green chartreuse laden libations that tasted like monks invented joy and then hid it in a fucking bottle. That's the magic here. Dive bar soul, serious cocktail execution, and a bartender who can run triage without breaking the spell. Drink here, tip heavy, then step back out into the bacchanal. The streets can have the chaos. Tonique has the craft. We'll be back.

At first glance, the place may look like a dive, but it has a great neighborhood bar vibe, excellent cocktails, and very affordable prices. On both days we visited, the place was packed, yet the crowds never affected the service. The bartenders were incredibly efficient, turning out drink after drink without missing a beat. Everything we tried was spot on. They clearly know what they're doing, and the prices make it even better. it's truly a steal

I figured: a new day, a new dawn, a new listing. If that is fine and dandy with the powers that be I will continue with my review. Arriba arriba!! I love what they have done with the place! On the Rocks now has two rooms! The main bar area and the DJ room. The pool tables have been moved to make way for dancing! They play Latin music here now, as well as typical top 40. There are always people salsa dancing (I wish I could) and I do my own version of dancing which is basically strutting around the dance floor to (kind of) the beat. Look, I can't dance that well, okay? I have yet to name my style of dancing but it WILL take the world by storm one of these days. White girl strut (trademark pending!)? I don't know. I'm working on it. The space next to the dance floor has been raised onto a platform that is now complete with a sofa for relaxing and hanging out. There is also a sitting area in the DJ room if you want to be closer to the music. Overall the bar is clean and the people are super nice and friendly. The Bud Light limes (Westbank gonna Westbank) have been replaced by Modelo, which is fine by me. Definitely one of the better Westbank hangouts, so be sure to drop in and check it out.

Upon walking up I was advised that I would have to be frisked prior to entry. This is normally a sign telling me to leave immediately, but I decided to give it a shot. As far as friskings go (I've been frisked a lot), this was rather uneventful. He could have done a better job if he was genuinely searching for weapons, but I guess it was more of a deterrent than anything else. Once inside I learned that this was not a place for me. The bar is separated into two different areas. One room contained the DJ, pool tables and an incredibly disturbing laser light show. It reminded me of the laser shows I used to attend in New Orleans East, but with much different music. The DJ didn't seem to speak English so requesting that he play "Marrero" by MC Thick was somewhat pointless. The DJ also made frequent use of some sort of synthetic horn noise that was horrendous. The second room is where the dance floor, bar and odd stage area were. The dance floor was huge. If one wanted to dance to the beat, there was plenty of room. The bar wasn't bad and there were a couple of cocktail waitresses ensuring you got the beer you wanted. The stage area was odd. There were a couple of couches, but there was also some sort of pole as well. While everyone I encountered was friendly, communication was difficult. The cocktail waitresses spoke limited English and most of the customers were conversing in Spanish. Would I go back to On the Rocks? Maybe, but there are many other WB bars I would rather visit.
