I have been to Mid-City Yacht club twice in the last few months. The 1st time was for lunch during the week, and I was one of the only people there. I got a beer(s) and some truffle fries and relaxed out on the back patio. The second time, I came on a Sunday at 11am. I got some buffalo wings that were crisp, juicy and just perfect and I also got an order of fresh cut fries. Delicious. While we were there it started raining and the kickball league across the street came running in. Well, the 2 bartenders handled this crowd of like 50 people faster than I thought possible. I waited less than 5 mins for my second beer despite the crowd. Fast and friendly bartenders, good food and a great atmosphere.

They have a pretty good wine and beer selection, but they shine on their signature cocktails, of which there are so many that I could not reasonably list here, some of which rotate out regularly to keep variety up. Everything, and I mean *everything*, is reasonably priced, if not outright cheap. (5 stars) Service: Usually just a single bartender, except during shift changes, but the place is small enough, that is more than enough. All the 'tenders are friendly and efficient. (5 stars) Facilities: Martine's is located in a strip mall along Metairie Road. It's easily accessible from the Bonnebel exit off I-10. Signage is ample, but you have to be familiar with the turns along the street to be prepared to find it. There is some parking out front, and, as one goes to bars mainly at night, there isn't any competition for space then. There is a pool table, video poker, and what looks to be a non-functioning/unplugged pinball machine (never asked about it). The inside is smallish, and can probably hold about 50 people seated, including tables and bar stools. There is also outside seating available. It's clean, but, for whatever reason, the cigarette smoke lingers in the place. The management is aware and tries to work with customers on this angle. The decor is appropriate, with a saloon feel to it. (4 stars) Bonus 1: free pizza weeknights Bonus 2: free wings on Wednesday with Trivia Overall: The only things I dislike about this place are that it isn't walking distance from my place and the heavy cigarette smoke that makes my eyes burn. This is one of the best Metairie bars, if not THE best Metairie bar. It is very Nola'esque. It has that personality that Metairie bars generally do not have. Its in an older building, with a beautiful outdoor space. It is dog friendly. And they have craft cocktails, not just a large beer selection. It is like a cigar bar or a man cave with leather couches and dark woods and lamps inside. They have plenty of fun board games. They are non smoking bar. They place sports on their tvs inside and outside. And they doc crawfish boils on Sunday evenings during crawfish season (Feb-May). I do wish they did them either on Saturday or earlier on Sunday, like 1pm. They have plenty of parking. They are right next to a loud train, so be prepared to turn that into a drinking game every time the train passes. Although they dont really have a full food menu, they do sometimes serve some of the best fish and chips. I don't have anything negative to say about this place. it is great.
