A 35' tree fell on our West Eugene shed & carport last night. I called Yard Transformations at 8 a.m. today, & Don was here within minutes to assess the situation. It was definitely unsafe with a possibility of more damage occurring, but he got on it immediately. By 3:30, the tree removal was complete, all debris removed & we feel safe again. He charged a very fair price for a tough job in the pouring rain. He even thought to take rooftop photos & video in case our insurance needed it. Kudos to Yard Transformations. I had a large Birch tree that was clearly unhealthy and had begun dropping some fairly large branches. The high winds last week motivated me to bite the bullet and have someone out to see if we could save it or quote removal. Don did a great job removing years of debris from under the Douglass Firs in my back yard. Don is courteous, relaxed, and a hard worker. Our HOA hired Don and his crew to do the landscaping maintenance at our condo complex, and we are delighted with their high quality work, which is also reasonably priced. Don is friendly and responsible, he does what he says he is going to do. I particularly appreciate that he is self motivated, we do periodic walk-arounds so we know we are on the same page and then he just makes it happen. He is also a helpful source of information on things like native plants, when it's time to remove a plant that is not thriving, or the benefits of putting down wood chips, as examples. I needed a quick turnaround on a yard cleanup project that involved needing to hand-pull weeds (no round-up, please), clear out overgrown garden beds, prune and shape a huge bush/tree, and general clean-up of overgrowth. "Who is this ?"... me: A potential Client.. dead silence on their end... followed by ... another Yeah... again dead silence. I found myself wanting to teach this sad young man some customer service... and in the moment of anxiety... Paused and thought ... and then realized that there was no way I was going to hire someone that from my perspective is just some kid that has bought himself a couple of chain saws... Don was recommended to us by Greg of Greg's Construction Service. He came when he said he would, was polite and friendly. Our back yard is a half acre and very over grown with black berries (did I mention I HATE black berries), dead branches, leaves and acorns. To name a few. Don listened to what I needed and wanted. He had great ideas and duggestions. He genuinely seemed excited to work in the yard and with us. We had a quote by the next day and we we're able to decide what needed to be done now and what could wait. He and his helper were on the job, bright and early ready to work hard for 2 solid days. You're not going to believe Don & crew! We had a nightmare from this ice tree storm; I am not exaggerating. Giant old oaks, several- 80+ years old. Don came out ASAP, returned my call immediately, showed up when he said he would, made assessment that it was dangerous for us and the house and came back like the next day with big equipment, trucks and the hardest working men- all sweet as can be, friendly and talented. The climber is wonderful (included in the amazing price is watching them hang off a tree with ropes and a dangling running chainsaw). Don & crew did so many extras I can't list it all, cleaned up the mess (mess we made too), and hauled off enormous pieces a normal human could not deal with. They were cautious of my sprinkler heads and surviving landscaping bushes and fixed a gutter too. I really cannot write a more exceptionally glowing review. Don and his crew were great! Being busy had definitely gotten in the way of keeping our yard up, and we needed professional help! Don was fantastic. He walked through the yard with me, pointing out things that I hadn't even thought of, for example, trimming tree branches that would take out the power to our house on a windy day if just one or two branches broke off. Honestly, I've had our gutters cleaned before, and this is the best that they have been working since we moved in.
