We we having some issues with our irrigation system and called Ron on a Friday. Although this is the busy season for landscapers, he was able to schedule an appointment the following Tuesday afternoon to assess and trouble shoot our problem. Within an hour he had replaced the faulty parts, shown us how to raise the sprinkler heads and reduced the water pressure which he determined was too high. This is the second time we've called Ron and he's always friendly, knowledgeable and his service fee won't break the bank. Ron is great - he first did a consultation/walk through with us at our newly purchased home; he was very knowledgeable and shared his expertise on what to do to maintain. I interviewed 3 possible landscape businesses and chose to work with Ron at Tender Earth. He responded quickly, was on time and wore a mask the whole visit. He was professional, polite and was able to communicate the vision he had for landscaping my front yard. His bid was very reasonable and he even suggested saving and replanting some of my existing plants. The first day he stripped off the grass and contoured the ground. The next day he created a beautiful dry creek bed with natural looking rocks & boulders. Now with his guidance I will choose plants and he will come back and plant them. We called Ron because the pump in our backyard water feature was starting and stopping. He diagnosed the problem, removed the old pump, purchased a new one and returned to install it in two hours. He's knowledgeable, friendly, professional, prompt and just an all around great guy. Ron even trimmed a tree that was obstructing our view of the water feature. In the past when I've needed work done, I've had problems getting return calls from some of the larger landscaping firms. Often it's weeks before they can schedule an appointment. I wanted a natural look to it. A few of them failed to follow up and few others wanted outrageous $$ to do the work. Most of them didn't have much experience in building a pond. Let me say that Ron was simply wonderful! Great attitude, knowledgeable, friendly, and worth every penny and more. He is more than a gardener, an honorable profession to start with, but also an artist with a great eye for detail and future growth. We loved the way he would trim or cut-back something and the then stand back and observe, then go back in and address areas that needed more help or touch-up. We had just bought a house in the south hills of Eugene. It had been on the market for a few months and the garden like landscaping was unattended, overgrown and just in very bad shape. Ron met with us to go over the whole land and gave us his opinion yet being very sensitive to our needs and desires. Since we take a more "managed" natural take on landscaping, he was keen to our interests. His quote was far better than anyone else's. He came at the time and day we agreed upon, a marvel in and of itself these days, and with his hard-working helper, cleaned and addressed every aspect of our landscaping, backyard and frontyard, about a quarter acre of land: trimmed unkept rhodies, laurels, lilacs, roses, ferns, and other plants, as well as taking out unwanted berry vines, bushes, poison oak and ivy. He trimmed all the hedges, as well as did an excellent job of clearing our obstructed view to the street exiting from our driveway without disrupting the beauty of the landscaping. All in all about 8 hours of work. Overall, he was simply fantastic. We are going to contract with him to do regular maintenance every month. read more

The transformation was amazing! At our first meeting with Ron, we knew we had decided on the right yard care specialist. He took the time to walk through our yard and help us make the right choices for the work we needed done. Professionalism at its best! We have a wall of laurels that were taking over and blocking all the sun from our yard and gardens that needed to be tamed. Ron cut every branch with hand trimmers, something I would have never expected. Most yard care companies would just use some kind of saw and damage the tender branches. Now the laurels will be healthier as they grow and fill in nicely. Great Clean up of the yard and Ron even took the care to bury one of my water lines to my garden, which will keep us from running over it with the lawn mower.
