First time trying a Russian manicure and I'm honestly obsessed. I've been getting builder gel for years, but the level of detail here is unreal! My nails look so clean, precise, and polished. Better than they've ever looked! Amanda explained every step and kept checking in to make sure I liked the shape and color, which I really appreciated. Especially since it was my first time getting russian manicure. The only thing is timing! This took about 3 hours vs my usual 1.5 for builder gel. I don't mind, but I wish I had a heads up, so definitely come prepared and plan your day around it. Also, booking is based on experience level and I chose a more junior tech, which is probably why it took longer. Next time I'd book with a higher master. I did get a small nick while they were cleaning my cuticle on one hand, which made me a little nervous, but they sanitized everything right away. They also started about 20 minutes late, but offered tea and chocolates which was a nice touch along with a gift bag since it was my first time at Yarco. With the advent of the warm season, I started doing gel pedicures and the art and craft of my pedicurist Alena, well, shone. I loved observing her finesse the final product - her hands and tools made me think of a sculptor at work. She also gave me great advice on selecting the precise shade of gel. For example, on the picture wearing red sandals, the color does not exactly match the sandals, as I initially wanted, but is one grade darker, per Alena's recommendation, which I was able to appreciate once I saw how harmonious the nails look against the backdrop of the sandals. While my regular manicurist on maternity leaves, I get manicures without color at Yarco at the same time with getting pedicures. Four hands, as if the two technicians are playing piano! read more

Have gotten both a mani and a pedi here and I definitely prefer dry/Russian manicures/pedicures now! The manicure (by Marine) was super meticulous - nails shaped perfectly, cuticles cleaned carefully, and polish applied thoroughly, including a detailed fine brush to cover the very edges of the nail. It's only been a week but given how rough I am with my hands (I've only gotten a handful of manicures in my life so I'm not good at being careful with them), it is holding up incredibly well. I went back about a week later for a pedicure KART (no polish, with Sasha) and my feet haven't felt so smooth in years! This is the only place that has done proper callus removal - any pedi I've ever booked I've always chosen one with callus removal or as an add-on, and it's never done anything. At this point Yarco is the only place I'm going for a pedicure now! read more

I have had very thin nails my whole life, so I need to keep my manicures maintained in order for my nails not to break often. I have been getting acrylic nail extensions for years and noticed that my nails were getting severely damaged from how rough acrylics are, so I decided to see if there are any nail techs near me that do Russian manicures (since I would get them whenever I was in Russia and LOVED the results). For some reason, Russian manicures weren't very popular in the USA until a few years ago so I couldn't find anyone local to me (in San Francisco) but I found Yarco Studio in Mountain View! I have been coming to Yarco studio since they first opened and I will keep coming back as long as I live in the Bay Area. I drive over 45 minutes to this salon for my nail appointments because the quality of their work and customer service is unmatched! Lena is an amazing nail tech and my nails end up PERFECT after every appointment, I am very picky about my nail shape and I have never had any issues or ever had to come back for a broken/chipped nail. When I was getting acrylics I would need to get a fill every 2 weeks because they looked so outgrown, but with a Russian manicure my nails last 4-6 weeks without any breakage and they grow out so naturally! I noticed my nails and cuticles started to heal with time and my hands are finally back to being healthy and recovered from acrylics/harmful chemicals they endured for years before. The manicures are a little more on the pricey side but it's so worth it once you see the quality and how long the manicure lasts you. Decided to try out the "Russian" or dry manicure and was pleasantly surprised w the results. My manicure definitely lasts longer than my typical gel manicure and the overall look is a lot better. I think it's important to note that the gel setting for the base and first coat BURNS! I thought it was just me but the first time I went another customer made that comment to the tech. I've been 4 times now and it's the same every time. It's also A LOT pricier than your regular gel manicure and takes a lot longer. So prepare for that. This salon is very clean and the staff is attentive upon arrival. After that it's pretty quiet and every time I've been there the only talking I really hear is between the nails techs or if the person they are working on happens to speak Russian. But personally I don't mind a quiet session. All that said, here is my experience(s) breakdown: Cleanliness: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 (they offer water, tea, etc. when you arrive), the only down side is they have a tv playing what seems like "travel blogger" videos with techno-like music as a backdrop ON LOOP. So if you're there for 60-90 mins and can't tune it out, it'll definitely make you a little crazy Staff friendliness:4/5 (based on above note) Manicure quality:4/5 (one time I had a different, presumably new tech and my manicure was def different, and this last time there was a little bit of "spill") Overall, it's worth trying it at least once and see if it's worth your time and money. read more

Great customer service! They greet you with a beverage and chocolate. And if you're a new client they gift you a cute goodie bag with cuticle oil and lotion, that was a nice touch. Now for the nails themselves... Bema did overall good job with the exception of a few nicks/cuts when cutting my cuticles. I have 4 cuts that still sting. Hopefully that won't happen again at my next visit. But the paint job was good pand very detailed. I tried my first Russian manicure at a diff location and can tell the difference in their technique. This place seems more authentic Russian manicure. Let's see how they hold up. I'll follow up with retention feedback in a few weeks. Overall do recommend this place. read more

I heard about Russian manicures through TikTok and have been dying to try one because I am never satisfied with cuticle care at nail salons. I think this is by far the B manicure I've ever gotten in the US. I had the nail tech Hely and she spent about 1.5-2 hours perfectly cleaning up my nails, cuticle, and painting to a perfection with a thin brush. A manicure is $90 but soon to go up to $100 as per their website. You get greeted with a coffee and treat and they have phone cables of all types at each station. My nails were all messed up from lack of proper care and all different lengths and despite how short they were, with the cuticle cleaning and clipping, it made my nails look so much longer. I should have taken a before and after picture- I am soooo pleased with the outcome! They even gave me a little treat as a first time customer. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the Bay Area! read more

I normally don't get manicures, and so I came in for my first one when I was getting engaged. The staff did a great job answering my questions about how to best take care of my nails. I liked the manicure so much that I now pretty much constantly have my nails done. My favorite tech is Anna, and she always does a great job with my nails. So much so, I trusted her without a doubt for my wedding nails (French pictured). She went the extra mile to shape and paint the nails to perfection, paying attention to details and constantly seeking my feedback on how they were looking. Attention to detail and responsiveness to feedback are two consistent traits I've seen with Anna, so I would recommend her without a doubt! I also cannot speak enough about the quality and longevity of the nails! First, they've enabled my nails to grow the longest they've ever been without breaking, an impressive feat considering I work with my hands in a lab all the time. They also last and look great for over a month - I've gotten multiple compliments on them 3-4 weeks post-manicure, and people are shocked when they learn they look that good for that long. I could probably push the time between manis longer, but I just get annoyed with the nails growing too long. Overall, I would strongly recommend this place. The vibe is professional and the manicures are high-quality, definitely making them worth the higher price point. I am never going back to traditional manicures now that I've discovered Russian manicures at Yarco Studios. I am obsessed! If you're new to Russian Manicures, read my tips for first-timers at the end. I started at the Mountain View location with Marine for a manicure. She is incredibly meticulous and skilled. She takes her craft seriously. Best manicure of my life! And, I've now gone weight lifting with plates and dumbbells, and in the sauna several times and my nails look like the day I got them! No chipping or any issues. I have thin nails and I finally feel like I'll be able to grow them out with this level of protection (builder gel) and cuticle care. Incredible. I saw Elena today in Los Gatos for a pedicure with KART. The KART treatment melts away tough, dry skin, it's painless and amazing. I've had thick skin form under my big toes over the years and this treatment thinned it considerably. I am so pleased, and the pedicure is absolutely gorgeous and perfect. Elena is talented and efficient. I lost two toenails after a long hike last year, they've grown back, but I explained it to Elena and she worked her magic to thin out my lumpy nails and make them smooth, shiny, perfect. Pink, youthful feet from KART with cute toes! New to Russian manicures? Here are my tips for first timers... - Plan to take your time. Russian manicures and pedicures take around 2 hours, but it is so worth it. Don't forget to use the restroom before you sit down. - Bring your phone and earbuds. Their stations are equipped with phone stands and phone chargers (so smart) so you can catch up on streaming your favorite show or watch a movie. - It's boring if you don't bring some entertainment with you. You'll be staring at the wall or the TV with background music or staring at the e-file going at your cuticles. Nobody wants that. - There is free WiFi and the password is on all of the stations. - For pedicure, you're somewhat suspended in the chair and I was able to get some work done from my laptop. It was great. - If it's your first time and you're squeamish about your cuticles, take a Tylenol or Advil (don't take an aspirin). I'm the kind of person who takes an Advil before I get my eyebrows threaded so this might just be my personal preference but if you're sensitive, I recommend it. - The first layer of gel gets very hot in the LED. Take your fingers out if this happens, wait a moment, when you put your hands back in it won't be hot anymore. Totally normal and the techs are used to this. - Free tea, coffee, or sparkle waters on the menu, so nice. - Keep your hands clean after your manicure, and keep up with cuticle oil. Protect your nails, and use gloves when using cleaners. These manicures cost a bit more and take longer, but they last 2-4x longer and look great. It's worth it. Enjoy your gorgeous nails. I have come here three times and each Nail Technician was highly skilled and works so careful and precise. Who would not want to take time to relax while getting this type of care?! I had three broken nails, and they were nicely reinforced, so now I don't have to worry about accidentally ripping them again. However, there were a few things that disappointed me. The appointment took a bit longer than I expected. And just two days later, I noticed that the cuticle work wasn't done very well -- there are still visible bits of the eponychium (the thin skin at the base of the nail), and on a few fingers, there were gel polish overflows that I had to file off myself. read more

I'd like to start with mentioning that this was the best manicure I've ever had. It was my first time trying a Russian manicure and it was perfect. They are very thorough and I really appreciate the attention to detail. My reason for a low rating is because it unfortunately didn't last more than a week and a half for me. By the end of the second week the gel was completely lifted on all of my nails. Considering how much they charge for their services, and all I got was gel on my short natural nails, I had high hopes that it would've lasted at least 3 weeks. I paid $115 with tip included for a simple manicure that lasted me about 2 weeks and I can't fathom paying that again for something that won't last. Sadly I will not be back but hope that maybe this was a unique experience and that it doesn't happen to other clients. read more
