I was happy to be flexible and later arrived 10 minutes early. When I walked in I noticed there wasn't a designated waiting area for clients. Then later I was told that my appointment had been forgotten and that a walk-in had been taken instead. I was understandably a little disappointed, but I remained understanding. A little after another nail tech. came from the back and was able to help me. Before we began, I communicated twice that I was there for a builder gel fill. I've had this service done many times, so I'm familiar with the filing process. However, much more product was filed away than I've ever experienced during a fill, which seemed to defeat the purpose of getting one. The filing also felt quite aggressive. While I understand the need to work efficiently, I experienced a burning sensation several times, and the technician even applied pressure to the top of my nail to help relieve the discomfort. After this happened repeatedly, I no longer felt comfortable continuing with the UV curing process because I was concerned about the sensitivity of my nails. I explained that I had changed my mind and would instead like to receive only cuticle care and nail shaping. The technician asked a coworker to assist with translation, but unfortunately, the interaction didn't feel welcoming. I calmly explained again that I wasn't comfortable placing my nails under the UV light and wanted to give them time to recover. The coworker appeared visibly frustrated and responded by pressing firmly on my nail and rubbed her finger against it to demonstrate that the builder gel was still present. The original technician completed the cuticle care and nail shaping, and I paid for her time and service. I appreciate that she finished the appointment, but overall, the experience did not leave me wanting to return. I also think the salon could benefit from a designated waiting area for clients and some soft background music to create a more welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

During that time, I regularly had dip manicures and, for most of those years, was happy with the results. Unfortunately, over roughly the last six months, the quality became increasingly inconsistent. When I raised concerns about changes in the finish and quality, they were often dismissed, or I was told that something I was doing was responsible for the inconsistency. Appointments here can also be extremely long. My visits frequently required several hours, sometimes approximately 3-4 hours for services. I tolerated the time commitment because I had been Jenny's customer for years and had previously been happy with my nails. My final visit, however, was bad enough that I will not return. I had a dip manicure with another technician. He was kind and clearly trying, but the quality of the manicure was unacceptable. The product was uneven, bulky, and irregular, with rough surfaces and edges. I also sustained multiple cuts around my nails during the service, including areas that bled. I am including photos because the results speak for themselves. When the technician encountered difficulty with the dip top coat, he appropriately went to Jenny, the salon owner, for help. Instead of simply helping him troubleshoot and complete the service, the interaction became tense and unprofessional. Jenny raised her voice while speaking to me and began discussing issues including staying late, paying employees, and needing to get home. What disappointed me most was the response when I raised concerns about quality. Over time, I was repeatedly told that my expectations were too high, or that something I was doing was responsible for the result. After my final experience, I went to another salon and received a meticulous, smooth manicure without difficulty, condescension, or drama. I also discovered that I apparently prefer my nail appointments with fewer questions about whether I have a boyfriend and more attention to whether my dip top coat is actually smooth. I understand that any salon can occasionally have a service that does not turn out well. What matters is how problems are handled. After approximately three years as Jenny's customer, the combination of increasingly inconsistent results, an extremely poor final manicure with multiple cuts, and the way my concerns were handled made me decide not to return.

I had a Groupon for a pedicure here, and upon reviewing their website noted that they had 20% off for their opening and that gel nails were 45, so even though I normally go to Enjoy Nails in Palo Alto I thought why the heck not, I'll go here this week. The establishment is fine, but the woman who greeted me was on the phone, and remained on the phone while she started my pedicure. Any semblance of a "heavenly" spa experience was gone. A second woman came later, who started my nails, filing them down to thin stubs. Then we moved to the table, at which point the woman that had been doing my toes (who by the way, didn't wear a mask the entire time I was there) began blow drying her hair right behind me. Unhygienic and unprofessional. The manicurist finished my hands, at which point both women wandered into the back, seeming unsure of what to do next. Then the pedicurist/apparent hair stylist in training walked out on the phone again, demanding 55. I explained that wasn't what was on the website, pulling out the list for them to see. She saw the listed price, then got back into a heated conversation on the phone, at which point she hands the phone to me, informing me that it's the owner. This woman is ultimately why I wrote this review. If you want to create loyal clientele at your new business, I wouldn't recommend yelling at them over the phone. Nor would I recommend trying to bargain: this is a business, not a flea market. She insists that the service I received (pictured below, as well as what I had asked for) was not gel, but dip, despite my initial request over the phone and in person for gel and that my total was 55. I again showed the menu, and the pedicurist woman took pictures of my phone for her boss, but she continued to yell at my that it was 55. Then she said she could do 20% off 55 for 45. That's just not even the correct math. I really just wanted to leave at this point, as I was tired of being berated and paid the 44 (20% of 55) plus tip. They only accept Venmo or Zelle, which is beyond sketchy. The pedicurist then apologized to me, saying that she has to call her boss because if they get the wrong price they get yelled at. Not only do the employees not know what the prices are, the owner is rude to them. I wholeheartedly do not support this establishment and will not be returning.

My nails look so clean, precise, and polished. Better than they've ever looked! Amanda explained every step and kept checking in to make sure I liked the shape and color, which I really appreciated. Especially since it was my first time getting russian manicure. The only thing is timing! This took about 3 hours vs my usual 1.5 for builder gel. I don't mind, but I wish I had a heads up, so definitely come prepared and plan your day around it. Also, booking is based on experience level and I chose a more junior tech, which is probably why it took longer. Next time I'd book with a higher master. I did get a small nick while they were cleaning my cuticle on one hand, which made me a little nervous, but they sanitized everything right away. They also started about 20 minutes late, but offered tea and chocolates which was a nice touch along with a gift bag since it was my first time at Yarco. Overall, amazing service and beautiful results. I already booked my next appointment and can't wait to see how they last!

I initially came in with short/ medium nails with two lifted gel and one broken finger. The broken finger had happened the night before and I was unable to adjust my appointment that I had made to let the technician know of the issue. When I arrived, I was asked if I wanted to keep the nail that short but I asked for a single nail extension and was told "I don't do that.". After shortening the rest of my nails so that the initial one did not look too odd in comparison I noticed the issues. All of the nails are different shapes, and sizes. Some are very short while others are far above the nail bed. They range from oval to square to rounded coffin. The gel overlay is inconsistent. There are some nails that are flimsy and bend to the touch while others are rock solid, and some have no gel in the corners that can cause easy lifting. When filing down the original gel, the drill bit burnt my nail. I am used to a little twinge, but this hurt so much, I had to pull my hand away. I was very sad and frustrated with the service I received today. It has made me weary.
