I had the best experience at The Nail Bar getting my Christmas manicure! I came in with a pretty complicated, detailed design, and Miki absolutely nailed it. She took her time and executed every tiny detail with so much skill and patience. The results were even better than the inspiration photos. I've gotten nonstop compliments! I love a crazy nail design and Gigi and the ladies at Nail Bar always make it happen.

Matcha party nails (-:

Mia did my nails and she was very patient and kind! Love how the nails came out. Was going for matcha inspired/whismy nails. I gave a few inspo pics and she helped me choose. Very attentive to detail, skilled, and not rushed.

I came here probably 2-3 years ago and had a bad manicure experience (I think they took the review down but when I went to write this review in 2025 the old manicure photos are popping up). I had a friend want to do a group mani/pedi date recently and she was told by a friend to go to The Nail Bar. I was hesitant because of my experience here in the past but figured since some time had passed I'd give it another go around. This time I went for a gel French pedicure. My pedicure was 7 days ago (last Wednesday). Since Monday night (5 days after my pedicure) FOUR of my TEN toe nails peeled off! Mind you I've been doing my own Japanese hard gel Russian manicures & pedicures at home since 2019 and I've gotten so good at it, this is why I am hesitant going to salons now because I often walk out feeling like I would've done a better job myself with the prep/attention to detail (which is a bummer because pedicures are nice because of the massage too). When I do my own gel pedicures at home I could run a marathon on the beach barefoot and my gel on my toes lasts at least a month with zero chipping! Needless to say I'm disappointed yet again by The Nail Bar. My toe cuticles hadn't even been pushed back prior to trimming, and to top it off the fact that 60% of my toe nails are now peeled off just 1 week after is extremely disappointing after a $100 total service including charge + a 20% tip. I am a second time around lost patron after hoping to give this place the benefit of the doubt :(

Queennie always does such a beautiful job, exactly the way I want it. Her attention to detail is amazing, and the customer service is truly top-notch. Highly recommend!

I usually come in as a walk in and they take me right away. I have been coming to do gel x for many times and I will be coming back again!

5 years later and still going strong!! I don't even have a regular tech anymore because everyone is fantastic! Excellent customer service, cleanliness, super accommodating and skilled staff - I could go on and on! We love the NailBar!!

Gel nail lifting after a day
Mary Z.

2 stars because ladies are very nice and knew their colors well.. But my basic gel manicure 1 solid color was 60$ with removal + tip began to lift the same night.. she drilled off my old gel (which I had for about 4 weeks + swimming in Hawaii at that point with no lifting at all done at all salon in LA for 30$...) there were still specks left on my nail of my old polish! Some nails look like they will last a while but 4 are lifted from the cuticle area and it's been about 3 days. I feel that my tech definitely went too close to my cuticle but I thought they would know better than me so I didn't say anything... I did not like the drilling of my old gel and some other aspects but may be will try a different technician next time if I reaaaally need a last minute nail appointment. ----- I reached out and they happily fixed my nails !!! So far so good, will keep update how this one lasts. But already longer than the other manicure!

I was luckily assigned to Lee. Lee brought my manicure inspiration photos to life and noticed the small details I didn't event realize were in my inspo photos! I came in wanting beach themed nails for a wedding and I walked out super super happy- I couldn't stop looking at my nails after she finished. I don't often get my nails done and I am grateful to how kind and patient Lee was with her recommendations for the nail art. She is super meticulous in all from shaping my nails to noticing the finest details of my inspo photos to checking in with me often if I liked the art that was in progress. I am definitely coming back to Kitchen Nail Bar MV for the next time I need my nails done for a special occasion. Thank you, Lee!

She cares about doing a good job, consistently every time. I used to come on my lunch break from work, and she would make the service fit in my truncated time frame. I recently switched jobs further away, but I'll be making time on my days off to come see her. Also wanted to say something about the young man who was answering phones today. He was perhaps a manager of sorts? Anyway, he was getting totally chewed out over the phone by some customer. Obviously I don't know the exact situation, but it's never okay to speak that way to any service provider! Kudos to him for keeping his cool, calmly offering multiple solution options, and ultimately speaking up (still politely) to let the customer know that they needed to tone it down.

My nails look so clean, precise, and polished. Better than they've ever looked! Amanda explained every step and kept checking in to make sure I liked the shape and color, which I really appreciated. Especially since it was my first time getting russian manicure. The only thing is timing! This took about 3 hours vs my usual 1.5 for builder gel. I don't mind, but I wish I had a heads up, so definitely come prepared and plan your day around it. Also, booking is based on experience level and I chose a more junior tech, which is probably why it took longer. Next time I'd book with a higher master. I did get a small nick while they were cleaning my cuticle on one hand, which made me a little nervous, but they sanitized everything right away. They also started about 20 minutes late, but offered tea and chocolates which was a nice touch along with a gift bag since it was my first time at Yarco. Overall, amazing service and beautiful results. I already booked my next appointment and can't wait to see how they last!

Since COVID, she has transitioned to a mobile business, and it has been such a wonderful convenience to have her come to my home to do my nails and hair removal. The only hiccup was that she would not go upstairs until colors were chosen, so I ended up having to reveal the surprise a little earlier. That part was fine, but the payment situation became a bigger issue than expected. I accidentally sent the payment through Apple Pay even though she prefers Zelle or Venmo. I let her know I could correct it and my cousin could help her move the funds, but she became very frustrated and spent about half an hour on the phone in the hallway with me instead of starting the services. I kept reassuring her that I would Zelle her regardless, but she seemed really upset with me. Once everything got settled, the appointment went more smoothly. My grandma's nails and toes turned out great and she was really happy. My aunt's nails were just okay, but I know the technician might have been short on time. I did not mind the small pricing adjustments since it had been a long time since my grandma had a pedicure and I was unsure what my aunt had on her nails beforehand. Overall, the service itself was helpful for my family and I am grateful they were taken care of. There were a few kinks that made the experience stressful, but the idea of mobile service is wonderful and I still appreciate the convenience it offered.

I had a Groupon for a pedicure here, and upon reviewing their website noted that they had 20% off for their opening and that gel nails were 45, so even though I normally go to Enjoy Nails in Palo Alto I thought why the heck not, I'll go here this week. The establishment is fine, but the woman who greeted me was on the phone, and remained on the phone while she started my pedicure. Any semblance of a "heavenly" spa experience was gone. A second woman came later, who started my nails, filing them down to thin stubs. Then we moved to the table, at which point the woman that had been doing my toes (who by the way, didn't wear a mask the entire time I was there) began blow drying her hair right behind me. Unhygienic and unprofessional. The manicurist finished my hands, at which point both women wandered into the back, seeming unsure of what to do next. Then the pedicurist/apparent hair stylist in training walked out on the phone again, demanding 55. I explained that wasn't what was on the website, pulling out the list for them to see. She saw the listed price, then got back into a heated conversation on the phone, at which point she hands the phone to me, informing me that it's the owner. This woman is ultimately why I wrote this review. If you want to create loyal clientele at your new business, I wouldn't recommend yelling at them over the phone. Nor would I recommend trying to bargain: this is a business, not a flea market. She insists that the service I received (pictured below, as well as what I had asked for) was not gel, but dip, despite my initial request over the phone and in person for gel and that my total was 55. I again showed the menu, and the pedicurist woman took pictures of my phone for her boss, but she continued to yell at my that it was 55. Then she said she could do 20% off 55 for 45. That's just not even the correct math. I really just wanted to leave at this point, as I was tired of being berated and paid the 44 (20% of 55) plus tip. They only accept Venmo or Zelle, which is beyond sketchy. The pedicurist then apologized to me, saying that she has to call her boss because if they get the wrong price they get yelled at. Not only do the employees not know what the prices are, the owner is rude to them. I wholeheartedly do not support this establishment and will not be returning.

I was happy to be flexible and later arrived 10 minutes early. When I walked in I noticed there wasn't a designated waiting area for clients. Then later I was told that my appointment had been forgotten and that a walk-in had been taken instead. I was understandably a little disappointed, but I remained understanding. A little after another nail tech. came from the back and was able to help me. Before we began, I communicated twice that I was there for a builder gel fill. I've had this service done many times, so I'm familiar with the filing process. However, much more product was filed away than I've ever experienced during a fill, which seemed to defeat the purpose of getting one. The filing also felt quite aggressive. While I understand the need to work efficiently, I experienced a burning sensation several times, and the technician even applied pressure to the top of my nail to help relieve the discomfort. After this happened repeatedly, I no longer felt comfortable continuing with the UV curing process because I was concerned about the sensitivity of my nails. I explained that I had changed my mind and would instead like to receive only cuticle care and nail shaping. The technician asked a coworker to assist with translation, but unfortunately, the interaction didn't feel welcoming. I calmly explained again that I wasn't comfortable placing my nails under the UV light and wanted to give them time to recover. The coworker appeared visibly frustrated and responded by pressing firmly on my nail and rubbed her finger against it to demonstrate that the builder gel was still present. The original technician completed the cuticle care and nail shaping, and I paid for her time and service. I appreciate that she finished the appointment, but overall, the experience did not leave me wanting to return. I also think the salon could benefit from a designated waiting area for clients and some soft background music to create a more welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
