I visited this place recently, and I always go for the gopchang combo whenever I come. I've also tried the makchang, daechang, and even the beef brisket, and everything was honestly so good. The waiting time can be quite awhile, up to a hour plus, especially during the weekends. So personally, I rather come during the week. Service is great, and the meat is good. The offer small combos for two people, and large combos for more of us. The meat quality is leaner compared to other places. My favorite is the beef galbi, and the brisket. Easy to cook, at medium-rare, and enjoy. The bon chons are bottomless. Rice paper may be limited though, but the salad and kimchi is unlimited. Personally, I rather save my stomach for the meat. Remember, these are combos and not all you can eat (ayce). The service is awesome. They'll cook for you! The servers are very attentive as they keep moving checking on their tables. During the wait, or after the meal, Yangmani offers slushis at the front door area. Nice perk to keep people coming! Parking however is paid valet. I think it's $3.00 mandatory. Really really good KBBQ. Is it the best? That's debatable. We went at 5:45pm on a Saturday night and there was no wait which is a huge plus. The side dishes were all super tasty and the meal came with plenty of dipping sauce for your meat. We ordered the variety set for 2 and it was more than enough food for us. My favorites were the ribeye and the brisket, cooked to perfection by our server. Service is friendly and quick. We were seated close to the server station so that might be a huge reason why. We came in at 9:55pm, an hour before closing and were told that we don't have long to eat. We were seated anyways and were asked to pay up front. Totally fine by us, and got the beef intestine set where we were able to try all 4. The bon chon was really good, personal favorites were the rice and fish cake and salad. The beef large and small intestines were really good, other two not so much. Was really grateful for the waiter to cook our intestines for us though, was nice. Around 10:30pm though, things started to get awry, the waiter started to close up shop and asked us if we wanted a box even though we weren't done eating. We got one box and wanted to pack the bon chon to go as well to not waste it, however the waiter asked us what it was for and he didn't allow us to pack it to go. Was annoying being rushed and not allowed to pack our left overs as we bought a set but it it was it is. My sister was really upset about the whole experience which was a downer for me. I have been interested in trying their new location since they moved deeper into ktown. Street parking seems impossible, but thankfully this plaza has valet for $5. Yukhoe - 4.5/5, excellent portion for the price. The pine nuts add an excellent nutty flavor to the sweet marinade, the raw beef is frozen and is super refreshing with the Korean pear. The flavor is more sweet than savory which I don't prefer, but overall this was a really good entree. Gopchang - 5/5, prepared much better than other kbbq restaurants. They were able to get the gamey taste out of the intestine, and it was cooked well with crispy sides. Beef tongue - 3.5/5, usually my favorite cut but maybe little too thin? Walked into Yangmani on a Thursday night with no reservation and got seated instantly. By around 8pm though, the place was packed and there was definitely a wait. One thing to note -- you have to order at least two meat options, which can be a lot if it's just two people and you're not super hungry. Still, we went for it. The mega galbi (their most popular) was easily one of the best I've had in LA. Super tender, almost felt pre-marinated and prepped perfectly -- all you really do is finish it on the grill and dip. Every bite was solid. The bulgogi was also different in a good way -- not your typical thin, overly sweet version. This was ribeye cuts with onions and mushrooms, much more premium feel. Fried rice was a hit -- strong kimchi flavor, nice crunch from celery, plus bits of pork belly throughout. Really well done. Banchan (starters) were actually unique -- I've been to a lot of KBBQ spots and this one stood out. You can tell there's more thought put into it. Service was top tier. Staff basically handles everything -- you don't cook, they do it all, and they do it well. Easy 5 stars. This combo came with boneless short rib, ribeye rusu gui, thinly sliced brisket, pork belly, one slice of king oyster mushroom, lots of onion rings and bean sprouts for the grill. I dined at Yangmani with my daughter on a Sunday around 5pm. The wait was minimal, and they have a self serve slushy machine, which is a nice touch while waiting and even after dinner. It was my first time at this location, and I was looking forward to it since Yangmani is one of the more popular KBBQ spots in Ktown. We ordered the $95 variety combo, which included brisket, non-marinated kalbi, roast gui (tripe is also an alternative), and pork belly. The meal came with a generous spread of banchan, salad, and a variety of dipping sauces like vinegar soy with jalapeños, wasabi, sambal, and green tea salt. It also included a bi-gee (비지 찌개) chigae and ddoenjang (된장 찌개) chigae. Service was great, our server cooked all of the meats for us, which made the experience easy and enjoyable. The ventilation wasn't that great, and it gets pretty crowded and busy. The interior is nothing fancy very typical KBBQ vibe. Overall, though, the meal was just average. Nothing really stood out, and the quality of the meat was a bit underwhelming. It was disappointing, and for now, I'm crossing Yangmani off my favorites list. It took me five years of living in Koreatown but I finally have dined at Yangmani! I loved it so much and I am wondering why I didn't go sooner. Cliche as that may sound it's so legit, I promise haha It's quickly shot up to one of my favorite KBBQ spots in Los Angeles and ya girl doesn't rate lightly. Open since 2007, but in this new location just since December, the staff at Yangmani are all fantastic! Everyone is so sweet and so old school cooking with arms behind backs. One server in particular was extra kind & gave tons of compliments to the toddler with us - so bonus points for that! Now the food at Yangmani is so money. I wasn't going expecting much for an old school style intestine specializing kbbq because of my childhood biases. However the meat here is just so stellar, the service is so great and the banchans are tasty, too. Plus, you have fun dessert drinks as you leave - I prefer the green apple-~so yum~! To reiterate, the best thing about Yangmani: Their meat is really, really good. I'm a protein hound and this is some top tier flavored stuff at Yangmani. Yangmani has been my top KBBQ spot for years-and it's the one I always recommend to friends and colleagues. But to be honest, I come more for the banchan (side dishes) than the meat. They serve complimentary side dishes you won't find at most Korean restaurants. My favorite is the Gang-doenjang-a thick, savory soybean paste stew that's really good with any of their meats. It comes out on the grill, so make sure to wait until it's bubbling hot before digging in. Another standout is the Kimchi biji Jjigae (ground soybean stew with kimchi). I'm usually not a fan of biji jjigae, but Yangmani's version is the exception- I could probably eat it with a bowl of rice and skip the meat entirely. My favorite meat cuts here are the ribeye cap and boneless short rib. Friends have told me that the intestines are really good too. The staff is great at grilling all the meat perfectly. They don't take reservations at 4pm so keep in mind that you will be waiting a minimum of 30 minutes during dinner rush. My group of 7 waited about 45 min to an hour for a table during peak dinner time on a Friday night. Once seated, we ordered a wide variety of meats - a large variety combo, a small chang combo with no mountain tripe, soy bean paste soup, and extra myung-i namul. The servers came around to grill the meats for us and made sure we had everything we needed. We asked the server to cut our large intestine both flat and round, which is the way I had it in Korea. The flat way of cutting does cook off more of the fatty layer, but it makes the texture chewier, and it's really delicious. We also ordered a mul naengmyun and bibim naengmyun near the end to help wash down the grease. I'm usually a mul naengmyun girl, but I enjoyed their bibim naengmyun a little bit more. They get down to business here. If you like intestines, they've got 'em! We got the large intestine order here and ended up eating 3 orders! The banchans they give you are nice, varied and many! Some spicy but most not. The quail eggs were awesome. So creamy! Really enjoyed the radish and apple salad. They cook their intestines on a solid grill angled to drain the fat out. First order included some veggies - potato, onion & mushroom, altho only a piece of each. Subsequent orders did not come with veggies. They grill for you and you can tell them how you like your food done. We have had large intestine at many places now, and each makes them quite differently. The ones here come out smaller (due too more fat draining from the angled grill, I think) and crispier than other places. Party of this is because the lowest setting on their grill is still quite high, and once your food is done cooking, they leave it on low to keep it hot, but this also keeps cooking the food. If you're eating it fast enough, maybe that's fine, but we only had two people and it took us longer to get through our order, resulting in burnt pieces by the end. Most of the delight for me is in the soft texture, a lot of which gets rendered off from the draining and the extended higher heat. Even still, I would come back here any time and ask them about maybe turning the grill off at some point. We were in a corner, but never forgotten about. They were busy, but turning over tables frequently. We came at ~745 on a weekday and they seated us right away. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Bathrooms are clean and bright. Parking was valet unless you luck out with a street spot. Valet came thru the restaurant at 9pm for payment and to turn keys, so be prepared for that. We have been to both locations, Rowland heights and the Korea town. Each location has a slightly different menu set of meat. I prefer the Korea town location more. Their banchan is a little more unique. They offered more pickled vegetables to go with their meat and soybean stew. The Rowland heights offer a typical banchan set with japchae, stewed meat and steam egg and cheese corn. We've tired the tofu stew at both location, the ktown one seemed tastier.
