Photo below shows their work with taking in a waistline and hemming up a skirt that I wore this past weekend as a bridesmaid (I am wearing a corset & skirt in the photo). They also steamed/pressed my top and skirt for free. In all, alterations cost $75 with a 1.5 or so week turn around (they could have gotten it done much sooner, but I was in no rush). In my opinion, that is an incredibly fair price for the absolutely incredible work they did! My skirt fit like a glove....better yet, it was a one and done deal. They got it perfect the first time and I have never gotten more compliments on how something has fit me. Recommend them so much so I am writing this review before I drop off items for service! Don't waste your time getting burned by other cleaners/alteration spots. Handicraft Cleaners gets it right the first time and every time!

I tried calling the number with no response and no voice mail, so I just figured I would swing by. I saw the small sign for Lea and assumed I had the place. I rang the door bell twice and knocked. About to leave, an older woman answers the door (assuming now this is the infamous Lea) and I ask if I have the Lea Bowman Alterations. She does not answer but frowns at me and asks if I have an appointment. I say that I do not and ask if I need one. No, "I'd love to work with you but I try to keep appointments" or "yes, unfortunately I can only see you with an appointment." She just stares and continues to frown at me and nods her head. I am a 35 year old professional woman who was dressed in work attire and she made me feel as though I was homeless and trying to steal her flowers! I was in shock at her response and demeanor. I just said, OK thank you, knowing full well I would NEVER want to work with this woman. There are so many hard working small business owners in Jacksonville Beach.
