My husband and I had a military holiday party to go too. I bought this beautiful king red form fitting dress a month or two before the set date for the holiday party because I was afraid I wouldn't find anything in my size. The date of the holiday party changed 2x. Honestly I forgot my dresses needed to be hemmed because it was too long. The day of the party I drive to every alterations place I could find to see if anyone could hem my dress since it was too long. I drove to 7 places until I remembered there is an alterations place right next to my job I'm downtown jacksonville. I called and a lady by the name of Irina answered the phone. She told me her store opens at 10:30 am and she will hem my dress and return it to me same day. I had a hair appointment at 12 pm makeup appointment 3 pm and the holiday party at 6 pm so I was pressed for time. Irina told me she would hem my dress and have it ready for me by that afternoon before my hair appointment. I was overjoyed. She did inform me that you have to pay cash so I went to the atm and took out $60, which included an additional same day fee and a tip for her. Once I got my dress I was overjoyed. It fit perfectly! She did a beyond amazing job with the stitching. She told me that alterations is a hobby of hers and she made it into her profession. She loves alterations and sewing since she was a little girl! It brought me so much joy that she was able to help me when I was in need and did a phenomenal job. I have never wrote a negative review in my life, but this was one of the worst experiences I have had with a small business. Although my wedding is in 6 short weeks, I waited an extra 2 weeks for her to fit me in because she was closed a full week for a one day event. I drove 30 minutes to meet with her for my scheduled appointment, walked 3 blocks with my dress, and was there less than 3 minutes. I was appalled by how rude she was from the moment I walked in. She didn't get out of her seat, made me hand my wedding dress over the counter, for her to unzip it half way, as it laid on her counter, and tell me it would be too much work for her.
