Yelp is a love/hate relationship. Most people will only take the time to write negative things but this is not true for Eva's. My daughter was temporarily staying in Jacksonville and we were forced to rely on Yelp reviews to get my daughter's wedding dress drastically altered. They also altered her now husbands uniform. For my daughter's dress, we wanted the sheer sides to be closed & the straps to sit just right on her shoulders and be comfortable. I don't know how Eva's pulled this off but they certainly did! My husband found Eva's Alterations after a panic when the other alteration shop we go to couldn't take us on. Let me tell you, Eva did not disappoint! It was a true blessing. She is incredibly kind, sweet, and so willing to work with you. I had to buy a wedding dress off the rack that was 5 sizes too big and needed the entire dress and veil altered within 3 weeks. Eva saw me right away, provided her expert recommendations on how best to alter the dress, and showed me the different options for making adjustments. She was incredibly professional and reassuring throughout the whole process. Despite the tight deadline, Eva worked her magic and got my dress back to me in just 1.5 weeks! It looked absolutely perfect, and you would never have known it was originally 5 sizes too big. To top it off, Eva also altered my husband's uniform to fit him perfectly. Ms. Eva was absolutely lovely. I got engaged in December and got married in May, I ended up becoming a little frantic realizing I wasn't giving myself much time for dress alterations. I called Eva on a Monday, not realizing she was closed, left a message, and she called me back first thing on Tuesday and I was in for a fitting that week. My alterations took a month and there was quite a bit to do but she was confident and told me " don't worry, this is what i do! I take care of my brides". I cannot recommend Eva enough for all of your alteration needs!! She recently did my wedding dress, which was no easy task. It was a tight corset bodice with a zipper, meaning it had to be altered perfectly. She exceeded my expectations and made my wedding dress dreams come true! My dream wedding dress showed quite a bit of cleavage, but it was still "the one" and nothing else compared so I got it anyways. I had to get the length altered and found Eva through Yelp. I was a little skeptical because she didn't have as many reviews but everyone gave her five stars so I decided to just go for it. I'm so glad I did. Let me tell you something about Eva. She is the purest, sweetest little lady. She's very soft-spoken and just so nice. And she also did the damn near impossible. Let me put it this way... I FELT LIKE I WAS CINDERELLA AND EVA IS MY FAIRY GODMOTHER. I initially asked just to alter the length but then I decided to shoot my shot and ask her if she could make me more modest on my big day (lol). You see, the style of my dress makes it very difficult to add a modesty panel without changing the complete look. I was expecting her to say no. Instead, she did what fairy godmothers do and bippity boppity booped the frick out my dress. IT LOOKED BETTER THAN BEFORE. I included a before and after picture for you guys. She asked me to order more lace from the designer, which I didn't know I could even do. I called the boutique where I got my dress and they ordered it for me. Eva cut a piece of a very dainty, very detailed portion of a floral pattern from the lace and sewed it onto my dress by hand. I wish I had a before picture of my dress. It was a size big and because I am only 5'2" it had a lot that needed to be taken up on bottom. This was a formal dress that had a shear layer on top. Eva did a great job altering my wedding dress. I bought my wedding dress 3 months before my wedding and she was able to fit my size 4 dress to my size 0 body. She took in the straps, back, and hem the front of my ballgown dress but left the train long for me like I wanted. My dress was not easy by any means, it has 5 layers, lace, beads, and appliqué. You would not be able to tell the dress has be altered by looking at it. If you don't want to worry about a seamstress ruining your beautiful gown I would go to Eva! I have been a long time client of Eva. This officially ended when she ruined my mother of the bride dress. At pick up, she did not come into the dressing room to check my dress alterations. She was too busy with other clients. Here is the LENGTHY list of what she did wrong: V-neck was off centered, sleeves not the same length, one arm hole was tight and the other was too big. The material badly puckers. One big mess! She accused me of gaining weight over the Thanksgiving holiday. No I did not gain any weight, I in fact lost weight. I had to re-purchase my dress (yes, the same size) and seek out a professional tailor. After respectfully trying to discuss her errors with her, she would not meet me halfway for reimbursement of her awful botched job. Eva has no remorse. She has been nothing but insulting and rude. Although she was leaving on vacation today for two weeks she was able to get my pants hemmed and done within one day knowing I needed to start my new job while she was on vacation.
