Before our wedding, we were able to pick up one of Vy's tasting packs of cake, all of which were incredible tasting and helped us choose the flavours we would want for our final cake. Highly recommend picking up a tasting pack if you are able to! During the process, we met with Vy early on and discussed our choices of flavours, design, and Vy was able to send us a mock-up design that incorporated elements from the wedding dress which ended up being a great touch, and created a cake that was unique for just us. We have honestly never seen a cake fly off the table so quickly - to the point where we weren't even able to have one of the flavours on the wedding day as the guests ate it all so quickly! So many compliments have been given from friends and family about her cake. Overall, we highly recommend getting a cake from Syndesi for whatever event you may have coming up. The trip out there would definitely, definitely be worth it. We'll certainly be ordering more cakes from her for future celebrations!

Favorite cake baker! Vy was so kind enough to squeeze me in to make a cake for my daughter's first…read morebirthday. And I was so happy she did. Everyone was amazed at the cake (a lot of them didn't even believe it was cake). The guests devoured it and I got asked so many times who did the cake. I will definitely be recommending her to friends who are looking for custom cakes and will order from her again for other special occasions!

Went for the kipes !! Very good! honestly i dont think anyone can top washington heights kipes…read morebut i feel like they were over priced to compensate that they dont get alot of clientele!! 5$ for a kipe and pastelillo is crazy ! I even spoke with the owner about it ! Also having versace next door is not helping them at all. I think that it would improve if their antojitos were 3$ each not $5 and their cakes were properly advertised ! You walk in and the prices are no where ?! Thats bad for buisness i had to ask him how much a pound fir their cake ?! 35$ a pound which is extremely cheap ( i also told him that) cake is going for about$ 70-80 a pound Doesnt make sense that hes selling a pastelillo which is still $2 in some spots for $5?!! Anyways wish i could help with the marketing of this place !

I'm not gonna lie, after watching "In the Heights" recently (which I highly recommend if you…read morehaven't seen it yet), I was craving some good Puerto Rican food. Some of my favorite things I enjoyed growing up in Hawaii were pasteles and gandule rice or arroz con gandules. I've noticed in the Atlanta area, just like with Filipino restaurants, there are not a whole lot of Puerto Rican restaurants. Yes, there are a few, but even so, not many that serve pasteles and arroz con gandules regularly. I realized this by calling around and coming up empty-handed a few times recently. In any case, I had never tried Dominican food before. I don't even know of anyone Dominican back home as Hawaii has much more of a Puerto Rican population. Long story short, I was excited to find that this Dominican restaurant serves pasteles! I never would have known if I hadn't seen the menu on Uber Eats, so I'm thankful I came across it. My husband tried calling in a phone order for two chicken and two ground beef pasteles but we were redirected to just come down to the store. I believe this is because they are made in a big batch ahead of time (as is custom) and are sold on a first come, first serve basis. So we went down, no problem, and picked up the pasteles. My hubby went inside the store, which looked fairly small - so best for take-out. He picked up the food with no problem at a reasonable price. I was so, so excited! I made some homemade gandule (pigeon pea) rice for the first time ever to go with the meal. Not sure if they serve any from the restaurant itself, so I made my own in case, since it's my favorite side dish to have with pasteles (which if you haven't figured out by now are basically Puerto Rican/Dominican style tamales that use green banana/plantain/cassava or other ingredients as the masa instead of corn base, along with the seasonings and oil that make them distinctive). To my knowledge, this dish is rooted in Latin-Caribbean Christmas tradition, so that's probably another reason you don't see them as often year round outside of Hawaii or certain places. So I was extra happy to find some in June! Unwrapping pasteles or even tamales is always truly like Christmas anytime for me. If you've had good pasteles or tamales, then you know the feeling. These pasteles from Antojitos were huge - some of the biggest I've seen! I had never tried ground beef or chicken pasteles before. The ones back home are usually made with pork, olives, and other ingredients, so it was cool to try another variation. Both were very tasty and flavorful, cooked perfectly. I'm not sure which one is my favorite yet of the two, I'd have to try them again, since this was just my first time. Overall, I was very pleased with the meal and even though they weren't the exact kind I grew up with, it's awesome to know somebody even sells them nearby me year round. I may have made the gandule rice, but to make pasteles is a lot of work, so I appreciate not having to do it and being able to support local business too! I'll definitely be back and maybe try some baked goods next time also.

I HAVE to tell you the story about our wedding cake! Tom and Jeannine with "It Takes the Cake…read moreLawrenceville" are SUCH dear people and I could not be HAPPIER that they made our cake!!! --------- 1: Jeannine and I corresponded through email and ironed out all the particulars of the flavors they offer. 2: Tom baked the samples and they tied them up in a ribbon, cupcakes with many different flavors for us to take home and try out. 3: They drove 3 hours to deliver it! I moved to NW GA from NE, and they didn't even hesitate to transport it all the way to where our wedding ceremony was. 4: We left a few flowers on the cake table in a jar and Jeannine decorated it BEAUTIFULLY. I absolutely ~adored~ how it turned out. They are artistic in more ways than one. 5: It was soooooo good. I can't even tell you how many times I have thought about it since. I need to place a continuous order for our birthdays and holidays etc. 6: And extra extra! They didn't depend on us snagging the top layer for the future, they brought us a COMPLETELY NEW tiny cake top, all wrapped up for our first anniversary- that is neatly tucked away in our freezer; we'll see how long it lasts though... Colton wants to save it, but I highly doubt it will still be there on May 3rd of next year, it sitting there calling my name and all... 7:Months later after the wedding - our guests and family are STILL talking about how "out of this world" our wedding cake was... is that even normal??? ---------- Can't recommend them enough! They are dear souls. Every conversation I've ever had with them - I have been lifted up and encouraged in the Lord. Love you guys so much! Senator & Mrs Hailey Ann Moore
