Highly recommend picking up a tasting pack if you are able to! During the process, we met with Vy early on and discussed our choices of flavours, design, and Vy was able to send us a mock-up design that incorporated elements from the wedding dress which ended up being a great touch, and created a cake that was unique for just us. We have honestly never seen a cake fly off the table so quickly - to the point where we weren't even able to have one of the flavours on the wedding day as the guests ate it all so quickly! I discovered Syndesi Desserts later in 2019 and I made it to her first pop-up at Moonbird Coffee for her Harry Potter-inspired treats. Once my family and I arrived and saw how long the line was (out the door), we were simultaneously shocked and intrigued. Surely people wouldn't endure the long wait for nothing? Well, Vy reeled me in with her warmth and delicious baked goods. I would go to a few more pop-ups between Moonbird and nearby Snackboxe Bistro before the pandemic stopped large gatherings and we all locked down. Vy's cakes were a highlight during a few big celebrations in our family in 2020. Her pick-up service has been seamless during the pandemic and her own move to a new house. I would recommend discussing details about your order as far in advance as possible (maybe a couple months) and don't wait until a couple weeks before the day of your event. In my defense, I didn't expect to be doing anything thanks to COVID19, but that's neither here nor there lol. The cake was moist, and the earl grey flavor peaked through beautifully without being too overpowering. The meringue buttercream was decadent and not overly sweet. My cake design was pretty tall and didn't quite fit in its box, but I was still able to transport it safely home with the help of a friend. The entire pickup process was easy and contactless for safety precautions. Payments are accepted online with credit/debit cards once your cake details have been finalized, and she requires a 50% deposit before the order is started. The only thing I would nitpick about is that the bottom of cake wasn't frosted when it was set on the cake pad, so while I was placing it back into the box the cake fell over. Not a big deal for me since my gathering was over, and I hope it was just a hiccup on my cake, but I'll be sure to mention the details to Vy the next time I order :) Overall, I loved my cake, and I do recommend ordering one for your special occasion.
