Cake ordered for my son's 18th birthday. I really appreciated the design--the cake looked beautiful and she did a great job bringing the vision together. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the taste and texture. The cake was very dry and lacked flavor, and it also broke apart very easily when we tried to cut and serve it. I wanted to be honest because, while the appearance was nice, the overall quality of the cake itself wasn't what we expected, especially for such a special occasion. I hope she'll take the feedback into consideration for future orders. read more

I contracted with this vendor to provide 100 mini wedding cakes (approximately 1.5" squares). I provided pictures with examples of different decorations for the mini cakes. What I got was approximately 20 large square cakes (approximately 5" squares). The vendor attributed the shortage to having dropped the others in transit. The product was unique, however it consisted of a hard, thick, 3/4" shell that was difficult to cut and cake inside that was not freshly made. My intention was for the guest to have one or more bite sized cakes. What I got was a monstrosity that my guests did not know how to attack. Some tried in vain to cut a piece, others were confused as to whether they should take the whole "brick". Im not one to regularly write reviews but in this case a very negative review is warranted. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. read more

This truly deserves NO STARS I ordered this cake for my beautifuls 1st Birthday and was so damn disappointed. This so called baker stated she could do what i asked for and paid $212 for up front...but this is what i got. 1st off i picked 2 cakes from your pictures of cakes you claimed to have already done once, couldn't have been your real pictures cause this sure aint not one of those pictures. The ears had mf card board glued on the back of them to stand the up, the icing around this red black and white cake was yellow very noticeable yellow as you can see through the plastic they were not full Circles. The bow on her head was broken there is no Happy Birthday as i asked for to be places on the cake plate with what down there, there are glued letters on the cake plate where is the icing writing? Not to mention the picture im use to them being edible like the cake not a piece of printed paper on my damn cake i could have done that myself! I asked for ChocolaIte Fudge and got a light brown cake thats was dry with no taste noone took a bite but my sister and i and we both spit it right back out the cake was delivered to me frozen im like wtf is it frozen...but ok i instantly texted the baker and said Good Morning! There are some things missing on my daughter's cake she called and i qent over everything that was qrong and missing at this point i had not cut the cake cause it was delivered a day early she offered a partial refund. I told her then i hope it still tasted good. Booooy was i livid on yesterday when we cut that cake as you can see from the picture the whole cake was trashed right after cutting it. The icing dsint even melt in you mouth and we all know buttercream should melt on contact! No that you truly messed up my childs 1st bday leaving me to run and find a 10 dollar cake from kroger to replace this bs you sold me I need a full Refund. Asap read more

So I'm giving this place a 3 for 3 reasons. 1. I ordered delivery and received the wrong cupcakes. Only 3 out of 6 cupcakes I ordered were correct. 2. These cupcakes are tiny. $3.75 for a cupcake that is smaller than the cupcake tins you buy from the store (I put it in one and there was still room). 3. The flavor of the cupcakes were good. The icing was good and the cupcakes were moist. With that being said, if I were going directly into the location (to ensure I received what I actually wanted), & if the cupcakes were $1.75 per cupcake, I would most likely give them a 5. They're just not worth the price. To put it into perspective, Smallcakes has a box that holds 4 of their cupcakes. These cupcakes came in the same size box, however it can hold 9 of Tier Couture cupcakes. read more

This young lady knows no limits! She is a veteran who is very knowledgeable, professional and my favorite part, flexible! Lol Just a little background..... I am fresh off deployment from overseas and my sons birthday was two days away. And like most military I'm always moving at fast paces and getting hit with obstacles. She was able to not only take my order but also get it done earlier than the original asking date. You definitely need to come in even if you are not looking for a custom cake. They also have a variety handmade ice creams and deserts! My favorite is the biscoff ice cream. By the way, the cake came out amazing. I will be going to her for future events! read more

First things first! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I was so hungry today! I felt like my stomach was touching my back and it's pretty hard to see that on me . I found this sweet piece of heaven on Yelp of course so I decided to take a drive and give it a try. My gps sent me on a wild good chase.... had me park on one street and then had me waaaay in the other side of Lilly's downtown Lawrenceville, then took me through some alley, finally I said to myself "self" let me just look for the actual street then address the old fashion way. And voila! Found It! So I walk in and it look pretty new and wide open and I See!! Cupcakes! Only a few but enough. So first I Oder turkey sandwich with all the extra's then I tell the young lady that I have to get some of those cupcakes. So not to look so greedy I ordered a red velvet Oreo because it looked so interesting and then I asked her which other one did she prefer and straight up she told me to get the Butter Pecan so I did. They had other flavors such as Vanilla, Red Velvet, chocolate, strawberry, and Birthday cake. So I give the young lady my card and I tell her how happy I was to see a new business in the downtown area. She hands me my receipt and one of this reward cards to keep coming back. I told her that I love to patronize new business with great customer service and that I would definitely be back. So I get home sit down and open up this cupcake box..... it was no deciding for me the red velvet Oreo was the victim that was chosen for my mouth! And Oh!!!!! It was sooo good! I said to myself again "self" this is a sin to be so good! I gave the butter pecan to my son but not without having a bite. It was good but not as good as that red velvet. The texture of their cupcakes are right on! The buttercream! Just right! So with that being said I got up the next day and went back and got a 4 pack and ate them all by myself I hid the ones that I couldn't eat that day. New spot alert! read more

What a great little cupcake place!!! Located in the heart of Downtown Lawrenceville again with all the local great stores you will find tier Couture Bakery. They have been open for a month now which is a great time because the cake fad of hundreds of cupcake stores have already passed and several of them have gone out of business which is leaving a cupcake craving for nowhere for a person to go. Now you can take your craving to tier Couture Bakery. Very friendly the owner is right there on site as well as her mother. It is a large open bright welcoming store. It is a great place for a kid to have a birthday party. They have a great selection of cupcakes on hand we chose the strawberry cupcake which had to be the best cupcake I've ever had in my entire life it was delicious. We also chose a red velvet cupcake, as well as these cake pops they were Dynamite. So if you do not want to have to eat an entire large cupcake you can have these little cupcake pops which were like chocolate covered strawberry, key lime, as well as a caramel one. I also really like the fact that they have wraps and lunch items. The prices are very affordable. She also does custom birthday cakes and wedding cakes. Definitely take a trip to Downtown Lawrenceville to try a cupcake try the strawberry cupcake it will change your life. read more

Seeing the pictures of the milkshakes was what attracted me to this place in the beginning & they are very good. They're certainly not the best, but they're not bad either. The only true criticism I have is that they do not have the names of cupcakes next to the cupcakes. It makes it highly inconvenient to constantly ask the employee what type of cupcake is each. Overall, an amazing place for dessert, family friendly & average service. read more

RUN, RUN, very far away. If only I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I had such high hopes for tier couture. I made a conscious effort to support local black owned businesses and was let down on an extra special day. The cupcakes at this bakery are OK, there are definitely bakeries nearby where the cupcakes taste much better. But this time I was going in for a custom cake order for a birthday party. The owner and I had a thorough conversation about my desired cake design, flavor and general set up. On the day that I was supposed to pick up the order I realize that I made the biggest mistake possible. As per the owners request I submitted a picture with the exact image that I wanted on my custom cake, and the day that we arrived it was the exact opposite. Not only was the images complexion completely wrong entire design of the image! read more

Wow! What a treat! After a long day working outside with my friends and colleagues, we decided Ice Cream was to be indulged. This Bakery is very nice and quaint. I was very pleased at how clean it was on the inside, bathrooms included. The young lady and young man who served all of us were so helpful and delightful. Tier Couture is mostly a cup cake and cake place so I was really happy when I we all noticed they make shakes and blizzards. I had to have my favorite, Butterfinger Blizzard. And wow! It's no Dairy Queen either. Awesome presentation and tastes just as good as it looks! Yummy. I look forward to a revisit next time I'm in the Lawrenceville area. read more

My daughter purchased a llama cake for my granddaughters birthday. When we picked it up, it looked exactly like the picture we gave them to work from. When we cut into it at the birthday party, the chefs knife we tried to cut the cake with wouldn't go through cake, so the restaurant gave me a serrated longer knife; this was not looking good. Finally cut through and got the first slice out, what a disappointment!, Two layers of yellow cake and one of white, thick, thick icing, not sure what stabilizer was with the 'buttercream', not one of the kids or the parents ate it. Thick sickly icing, really dry cake, that just crumbled. My daughter was charged $7.99 for a 'Raspberry Coulis', well certainly not the couIis I used to make when teaching baking and pastry classes, This was raspberry jam with seeds, really cheap cake. One star as the decoration was as we wanted. A real rip off. read more

The worst experience! Placed an customize order for 3 tier vanilla on vanilla cake 3wks prior to event. Was told by the cashier that the baker would call me later that day to further discuss the details and changes for the cake. The baker didn't call until 1 1/2week later. I missed the call and called back a few hrs later, to find out the baker is not at the shop and will return my call. Again, no call back for a couple of days. I finally got ahold of the baker via her cell phone. We discussed the changes and she said she would have the cake ready by 11:30 on 10/6 (event date). I was at Tier Couture at 11:32. Cashier told me that "they are boxing up the cake, it'll be a few minutes. 15mins went by and another cashier came to me asking for the balance. I said well I would like to see the cake first. Simultaneously I asked about the flyer they have posted which said show us your Google review, get 10% off your order. I asked can I apply this as I had the flyer in my hand. She went in the back and I guess told the baker who stuck her head out to get a visual of me and then said "oh no that's not for cakes". Not to make an argument I said ummm ok, but was thinking it doesn't specify the items available for 10% Google review discount ( I also took picture of that flyer). The cashier came back to the front where I was standing and said "it'll be a few more mins, some more things are being added". I looked at my watch and it's now 12:00pm. I advised the cashier I have another appointment and will be back. I returned at 1:30 and they present me w/ a cake that had what looked like chocolate marks on the top. I asked if the cake was chocolate as I ordered vanilla. She said no it's the fondant ganache. I was pressed for time and didn't ask what was ganache. They also have a contract that must be signed after picking up the cake to say more or less they are relieved from any wrongdoing. I'm sure something previously happened. At the cake cutting I found out that the ganache she used was dark chocolate under the fondant. My guest are allergic to chocolate, that's why I ordered vanilla! To top it all off the cake was dry and overall a complete waste. I see why they have the Google flyer at the register so people can get an instant 10% discount prior to tasting the item and Tier Couture reviews make them look like a competitor! The lack of communication, professionalism and poor quality of this cake is ridiculous! I have shared this review on many sites and talked about it to people with photos. If I could give a zero rating I sure would! Look for the photos of cake, dark chocolate ganache and the Google flyer. I will also attach my order form which shows vanilla on vanilla! UPDATE: As of today, 10/25/18 I received a call from the baker two days after posting this review. She apologize and offered a "percentage refund" back and another cake free of charge. She asked if I could come in and she can provide me cash or she can mail a money order. I accepted her apology and stated no thank you on the cake order and per her request provided my address to mail the money order. The "percentage refund" has not been received. read more

I ordered from Tier Couture Bakery through GrubHub. In the mood for something sweet, I ordered a banana pudding, salted caramel cupcake and birthday cake cupcake. It arrived earlier than expected and I was thrilled. I decided to try to eat the banana pudding first. It was very, very soupy. The pudding overall was very liquidy. It tasted like a pudding cup that was blended with more milk. I wasn't sure if it was fully cooked so I threw it away. I decided to try the birthday cake cupcake next. It was flavorless. Like a sugar-free, diet cupcake. So then I tried the salted caramel cupcake which was actually more like a brick. The base of the cupcake was hard and when I finally bit into it, it was burned a bit. I called GrubHub to request a refund for my order and it took them 3 days to get back in touch with me (after I called to follow up about 3-4x after the initial call) only for them to say Tier Couture Bakery wouldn't refund me because too much time had passed by. Hilarious since I called back to complain the same day. Prior to this, I thought to myself that maybe this was a bad experience and I'd go back later to try their food again but after this, I'm good. This was extremely disappointing. read more

When I called Tier Couture, I worked with Shaquana and she was not only helpful but knowledgeable about the cakes. I needed a Detroit Lions cake for a baby shower and she was on it! She started sending different cake styles and teaching me the difference of the cakes and what it is to have one tier and two tier. Every time I needed her, she was there. She would tell me which cakes I liked and then sent me the invoice for those cakes and that's how we made our final decision. Easy to work with, great tasting cakes!! read more

Slow, expensive, disorganized. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. There were three folks working when we arrived. No one greeted us and it's unclear where to order. There are no signs indicating what's on offer, only a small screen behind the counter. We ordered 2 shakes, 1 cone, and 1 cup of ice cream. 15 minutes later (really) we received 2 cups of ice cream and a few minutes later, 2 shakes. The Mayfield ice cream was delicious. The shakes were $4.89 each. The 1 scoop cup was $3.25 and the single waffle cone costs $4.75. The space is huge, but there were only a few chairs scattered around. There were only a handful of folks in the store. We will not return to this store. read more

I ordered a cake with two dozen cake pops a month in advance of my event. I provided pictures of what I wanted and received a quote of $145 for the cake and $70 for cake pops. When I arrived neither looked anything like the pictures I provided and come to realize they did not have the means to create what I asked for but took my money and did what they could. I left the cake because it was beyond fixing to what I asked. The image I wanted was printed small 5-6 times around the cake with a bright blue sky. I have emailed them to resolve the issue but no one will respond. I took the cake pops, despite not at all looking like I requested, and found out that they were not the cake flavor I requested inside. I do not want store credit, I want a refund. Delicious! Best describes this bakery. Dropped in after dinner at Oyster Bay. With ten minutes before closing time they were super friendly and welcoming. They were doing a buy three get one free deal which was great because there was such a variety even at closing time. I ate the strawberry cupcake and my husband at the Caramel cupcake (its cut in two, i forgot the actual name) but they were both delicious and moist. We still have the Salted Caramel chocolate and the Oreo cupcake left to try. They also sell sandwiches. Will try that next. Definitely recommend! read more

So the first time I tried the place, the experience was okay. My brother and I was participating at a local card tournament in Galactic Quest (next door) and we decided to get some food. Well, we tried the Chicken Wrap which honestly wasn't the best for the price. BUT, the second time I visited with a friend, we tried the Dream Shakes. Absolutely delicious!!!!! It was really sweet (some might find it too sweet, but I have an insatiable sweet tooth and loved every bit of it)! I got the Red Velvet and my friend got the Strawberry. We were intending on downing the shakes there but our third friend needed to head home so we had to take our shakes to go (which is a bummer cause idk if we were suppose to eat the crust on the shake but I wanted to :P). The lady in charge was super sweet and was extremely understanding. Will totally return for the shakes and maybe the cakes in the future :) read more

My first order of macarons from this bakery arrived within 4 days and they were absolutely perfect. I was so excited to patronize this business & even told family and friends to check them out. On Sunday, March 7, I ordered 2 boxes of macarons, when my ordered arrived on March 11, one box of cookies was wrong and the one that was right, every cookie was crushed (no big deal, I blamed ups lol) I called and was assured the correct order would be shipped out on the following Monday, March 15th so I was anticipating getting them by the 18th. I know, that's a long time for cookies ordered on the 7th. Today is March 19th and after not receiving tracking info, I called and was told the order from the 12th (the replacement from the 7th) would not ship out until the 22nd, THE 22ND! Which means I would not have gotten any macarons until the 24th at the earliest but in my experience, it would have been the 25th (next thursday)! The lady then asks "did you need them for something" lol really? I need them bc I bought them on the 7th. That's damn near a month! There was no apology, just a cancelled order and a once excited, but now completely turned off former patron. I even expressed that I live around the corner and could have picked them up. But no! They were so nonchalant about their mistake. It makes me sick! I will never purchase from or recommend this bakery! read more

My girlfriend wanted to show me this cool black owned bakery. As an executive pastry chef myself I was super excited. We walked in and no one greeted us, just stared which made it super awkward. We ended up leaving because the employees didn't seem to have a care in the world about working there nor service us. I definitely don't run my bakery like this and as a black owned establishment I expect better. I was ready to spend money and now I'll be taking it else where all because your customer service was terrible. So DELICIOUS!!! It's my 2nd time visiting and I love it ! They are so sweet to their customers.

I ordered my sons birthday cake a month in advance. Sent her details of my order and have been in communication with her even to pay the balance which I did. At no time did she say give me the heads during that time which was a week before she would have to cancel; instead she text me 2 days before my event and gives me a lame excuse and cancels my order. No remorse, no effort to try working with you to figure out a solution. Very cold, dry cut. "Your not the only one"! Remark as if I should feel better and understand. My thoughts were she took orders and kept the higher paying ones $300 or more, and if you were less she would cancel your order. That's her practice. Either way, with her there is no guarantee. Do not place your event in this ladies hands. It's a joke to her to do this to her clients. Luckily the planner I am I had a back up. Unlike her unprofessional self. Stay away from her. read more
