I've been getting headaches from my contacts for years, and Dr. Deering seemed genuinely dedicated to fixing the problem. I'm now headache-free, and I learned all sorts of things about my eyes in the process! The people here are wonderful, and really go above and beyond. Fast forward to this September, I received a bill in the mail for the additional appointment for my dilation. I paid my copayment back in May at the time of my appointment, but they were trying to charge me again, even though it was the doctor's issue with having me to reschedule my second appointment. I called today, stating I am not happy about this, finally they agreed to drop the additional fee but they asked me not to book further appointments with them. NO PROBLEM, I WAS NOT PLANNING ON IT!! Well Yelp did not fail me - one of the lovely ladiesn at Heller Eyecare fixed my glasses free of charge and did it quite quickly even though there were indeed broken! Needless to say I will not hesitate to strongly consider them when I am ordering my new glasses. The selection there seemed very large and the fact that they are open till 6pm sometimes is very helpful. Thank you again to whomever helped me, life is too short to go around with taped glasses!

One of my favorite perks of this optometrist office is that they have the computerized machine that x-rays your eyes versus getting them dilated. Extra plus for me since I am allergic to preservatives in my eyes but always had to suck it up, prior to finding Dr. Segool. Both receptionists are great! Very helpful! Without asking, one of them looked up my name in random vision plans and discovered I have a very good vision plan that my husband, who carries the insurance, failed to tell me about. Saved us lots of money. I have also purchased glasses elsewhere in the past and took them to Dr. Segool who had the lenses put in for me. My very A-D-D son was taught how to wear contacts here. They had lots of patience with him. Never a long wait, easy parking.

Based on some of the reviews on here, I was prepared to have a Clockwork Orange experience, but I totally lucked out by picking Dr. Segool. They asked if I needed a appointment for new contacts, and got me in as soon as I could schedule it - no blindness or bleeding eyeballs necessary! They did a full check-up for Rx, peripheral vision, glaucoma/cataracts, including this cool machine that takes a picture of your retina. Dr Segool took the time to explain the various images and patiently answered all of my questions. They have a lot of contact Rxs on-site (I needed to order mine, but they got to my house in under a week) and they told me about a rebate program for $100 off if I ordered a year's worth. They also have a good-looking selection of fashion frames, if you were looking for glasses. Overall, excellent service form the office staff, really professional and friendly service from the doctor and they take VSP. Dr. Segool is my optometrist from now on.

I was skeptical to find a new doctor and establish a new relationship. When I made my first call to schedule an appointment, a kind lady, Lori, was there to assist every step from benefit coverages to limitations. Those are the bedside manners that I highly value. Today, I met Dr. McHale and I am thoroughly impressed. He's very down to earth, mild-mannered and explains in detail of all your eyes' health and needs. He directs you in the right path of correcting your vision. He's one of a kind. Typically when I think of most doctors who's been in their practice for a while, I have noticed a certain type of pompousness. This guy was none of that. It was a great experience and great first visit. I can't recommend his practice enough.

When we went back for a follow up yesterday, the charge was $225 which he was not in with the eye dr for more than 3 minutes. They asked him how he felt while using them and that was it. The follow up wasn't for anything except to try to get us to purchase the contact lenses from them. I was not told beforehand that the follow up was going to be almost 3 times what the initial visit was. We will never be back. If you do decide to go there you better ask the cost beforehand.
