Very good food. Super pricey but well worth it. We didn't understand when ordering, but when we got the food...OMG! It was so good! We ordered: - 2 mos soups - Lychee Spritz - lychee and prosecco topped with soda and orange bitters - atomic mojito - just like the usual mojito; only stronger! - Dragon Roll (with black rice) - breaded king prawn filled norimaki wrapped with a layer avocado with a drop of wasabi mayo and a sprinkle of masago - Cray Fish and avocado with black rice For dessert: - Craic (pronounced "Crack") Pudding - silkily vanilla ice cream on a pool of miso caramel and topped with sweet potato crisps - Nikka gold and Gold whisky- smooth and warm with a medium finish. Probably the best Sushi I've had in Dublin. If you got the scratch to spend, definitely come through! Also, the hours reflected on Yelp don't seem to be right. We were there well after 10pm.

Tiger Prawn Curry €22.95 (only four prawn and three mushrooms)

There are 3 distinct locations VERY close to each other in Dublin, and apparently, each of them have their own style of food. I visited the South City location listed on this business page (71/72 South George). I showed up on a Saturday night at 8:15 and the place was packed with no seating available. I had to make reservations for 9pm and come back later - not their fault, but lesson learned. This part of the city is hopping on the weekends. The Tiger Prawn Curry was a disappointment. It had a good flavor, but for €22.95, it was severely lacking a decent quantity of prawns and mushrooms. There were literally four small sized prawns and only three mushrooms (yes, I counted). It was WAY overpriced for what we got. Miso soup was added to this entree and was €3.45 - I don't understand how they can charge that much for a standard miso soup. There was absolutely nothing special about it. It should have been priced closer to €1.00 I ordered the Tofu Steak, consisting of marinated crispy fried tofu with mango and roasted sesame seed sauce. It included stir-fried veggies, zakkoku rice, and vegetarian miso soup for €19.45. There was plenty of tofu and it was cooked crispy as advertised - very good! The mango sauce it was bathed in tasted good as well. I asked for hot chili sauce on the side to spice it up a bit. The broccoli included in my entree was cold, and so was the side of rice. The restaurant was very crowded and very loud between 9pm and 10:30pm. I passed by this place several times on my visit, before going in, and I think I should have kept passing by. The food wasn't anything to brag about, and the price point certainly wasn't worth it.

I would have rated the restaurant five stars but it is pricey. However the portions are big and filling. The soft shell crab salad was with it in my opinion since it had 3-4 soft shell crabs and it was fried lightly which was amazing. The roll was huge so we had to box it up. Overall it's not a bad place but like I mentioned, the price is high.

A fun spot in downtown Dublin! Definitely make a reservation because it was super busy... I made ours about two weeks in advance and that was plenty of time. We started with two items from the Japas (Japanese tapas) menu: the Japanese fried chicken which was yummy and the pumpkin gyoza which were also yummy. I ordered the tofu ramen which was delicious and others ordered more gyoza and a tuna roll. Its a great place for groups because there are plenty of options for everyone. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely go if you're in Dublin.

Yamamori noodles is a great place to stop in if you're cold from the winter weather of Dublin. Upon arrival we were given a nice hot cup of tea. I was not pleased when I was told that if we wanted more tea it would cost 2.5 euro for a small pot or 3.5 euro for a large pot of tea. I'm just so accustomed to having complimentary hot tea at Asian restaurants especially in Japanese and Chinese restaurants. When in doubt, I always order the signature dish. So today I chose Yamamori ramen. It was definitely a good choice because it was loaded with meat and seafood and tofu. The broth was delicious though a little bland. If you want it more spicy be sure to ask for some chili oil and it will definitely add a little zing to a somewhat bland soup. Worth going back on a cold day. #20 / 100 Challenge 2017

    Beautiful tiling 9/10

The bathroom at Yamamori is a tale of two halves. While there are many positive aspects to it, there are many extremely off-putting factors that I hope to avoid in most bathroom scenarios. For instance, upon entering the stall, I was disappointed to see uncleaned skid marks that were clearly visible in the bowl. However I can get over this as the perpetrator may have just been in the stall before me, so I will forgive the establishment. Besides, when I was seated I was floored by the in-stall entertainment. Almost everything I look for in a bathroom stall to kill the boredom was present here. First and foremost was the nice decor of the stall with the beautiful tiling patterns, always a good source of inspiration. Also, if there's one thing I love in a bathroom stall, it's ads on the door for some light reading. Once finished using the can, things began to take a massive nosedive. I was met with a previously unnoticed nemesis of mine. There is a certain kind of toilet paper dispenser that really fries my frog. I do not know it's proper name but we shall call him Gino. I have added a picture of Gino but those of you who are prone to fainting may want to look away. Another disappointment was the sink. I must admit that I'm not a fan of manual taps in a public bathroom, and they were present on this particular day. On top of this, the tap was installed in too close proximity to the basin, forcing me to punch it accidentally when moving my hands. To top this emotional rollercoaster restroom off, there was a hand drier (generally the make-or-break for each bathroom experience) which I normally have great respect for. On this occasion there appeared a timer on the hand drier that, upon activation, started a count down from ten. Once the timer had ended, the dryness of my hands were not up to my standards. I left the bathroom confused. I hope to return to Yamamori in the near future. I will use another bathroom before arrival next time

Tonkasu ramen. Not good. Soggy and a bit mushy noddles. Flavorless Chashu meat. Broth is just a okay. Disappointed.
    Lena H.

I came here for lunch and ordered their Tonkasu ramen. I have tried tonkasu ramen in probably more than dozens of Japanese restaurants because it is my favorite and this restaurant for sure offers below average ramens. First off, the broth is not "creamy" as it says on the menu; and the noodle is too soft and a bit mushy. The cha-shu has no flavor. Broth got some flavor but by no means a slow-cooked-for-long-hours tonkasu creamy broth. Two stars for their ramen only. Didn't try other stuff. If you are a fan of tonkasu ramen, you will be disappointed.

    Luncheon time :-)

We popped into Yamamori looking for some tasty food (and especially a healthy one at that after a week of beer and burgers) and with a giant hunger it being lunch time and all! It was packed but lucky us managed to get a table for 7 - nice work for fitting an extra chair on the end of our booth. First off I was impressed to see a range of Hitachino nest beers on arrival. Their Red and White Ale's were on offer - both super amazing! Personally I went for the seafood ramen which was a giant portion but so so tasty - loads of noodles, loads of seafood, you could just feel the healthiness of it - just what we were after. We also got a large portion of sushi to share on the table - really good and pretty much finished me off (belly..about..to..pop) The lady serving us was super friendly and a nice little bonus was that when we checked in to Yelp we all got a free glass of sake - the perfect lunch time drink...maybe... Looking forward to going back next time I'm in town!

    Bento box

I had a very enjoyable meal with a friend here on New Year's Eve. We had no idea what was open, but my friend navigated the streets and lead us right to Yamamori. We showed up without a reservation - and the place was hopping! - but were seated within about 5 minutes. The host was very polite and efficient, and was in great spirits despite how busy the place was. I ordered the bento box, probably because it was on a sign right in front of me, and my friend ordered the ramen. I was surprised at how big the bento was! And very good. I was able to eat about 75% of it before throwing in the towel. The attached picture will show exactly how much food comes in this thing. Order it only if you have a huge appetite. My friend seemed to enjoy her ramen. I secretly wished that I had gotten that also - but alas, tough choices needed to be made before 2015. On my next trip to Dublin I'll give it a try. Service was great. So great that I barely noticed them coming and going with our orders or our food. And the food came out really fast. Check out Yamamori if you are in the mood for a little asian fusion - they seem to offer it all.

Free sake when you check in on yelp!

I much prefer the interior and set up of the Yamamori Sushi on the quays (so much brighter and more spacious!) , but menu is pretty much the same. We opted here before heading off to the Gaiety nearby, and as my friend is vegan this is a good choice as they do quite a few vegan dishes. I went for my standard choice of Ramen (Yamamori ramen with chicken, pork, tofu and prawns) - never fails to satisfy. It always annoys me though that at lunch time the exact same dish is about 8 euro cheaper. Also they never do any early bird. For dinner this place can get quite expensive if you go for a few courses. Their mocktails at 3.50 are very good value though!

I'm a newbie to this kind of food so won't proclaim to know what I'm talking about! I'll just tell you what I liked and didn't like :-) First off, the restaurant was so much nicer inside than the exterior would have you think. I expected a really casual interior but it was classy and pared back. Hadnt a clue what I was going to be presented food wise so just had a guess at what to go for... for starters we had the Spicy Kimchee Tuna from the Norimaki menu and the Ebi Tempura, King Prawn coated in a light crispy batter - from the sides menu. Both were fab and the portion size of the sushi was gigantic (I did still scoff it all though!) For mains I went for the Tofu Ramen, having heard so much about Ramen. Any times I've eaten tofu I havent enjoyed it and I thought I'd give it one last shot... it will definitely be my last! Did not enjoy the tofu at all, but that's nothing to do with the cooking of the dish, just my personal preference. Once I'd pushed the tofu aside the rest of the meal was lovely. My dining partner went for the Chicken Katsu Curry... while it doesn't look like too much in the picture it was delicious. I'd defo give Yamamori another shot to try out something more adventurous next time!

    Green Tea (served free)
    Andy O.

I've been looking forward to trying this place for a while and so I decided to grab lunch here. €13 nets you a seafood bento box with some miso soup. Green tea given at the start for free which is always welcome although it tasted more like just boiled water with hints of green tea than anything else. It's free so I can't complain. The bento box that came out was massive and then they also served it with a helping of (purple?) rice. There was fish in tempura, a crayfish salad, sushi rolls and some veg. The best part was the salad by far, it tasted fresh and it was great to eat a salad with some seaweed, a new experience for me that I liked. I found the sushi rolls very dry and packed with far too much rice. In fact my biggest complaint about the bento box is that it seems to be padded out with carb rich food such as rice or batter on the fish rather more creative and healthier options. As a lunchtime meal, it was far too filling (in a bloated sense) and you don't exactly feel great after it all. The staff were friendly and attentive, the service was fast and I was a very big fan of the decor of the place, especially the old timey Japanese film being played on a projector on a wall. This place would probably fare better if going for drinks with some friends but it's just above average when it comes to lunch.

Yamamori is a Japanese noodle house located on Georges St, Dunlin with a second location down on the quays. The one along the quays is meant to be a lot bigger than the original, and I hear it is really well suited to large groups. Saying that, the George's St venue is still a fine size, with big wooden benches to sit at in a cool restaurant. It has been here since 1995, serving 'authentic Japanese cuisine' and the food is really good. They have everything from sushi and sashimi to wok noodles, ramen noodles and tepan grill dishes. I'm a fan of their yaki soba - very adventurous, I know. I'm more of a 'stick to what you know kind of girl.' I won't be moving onto the raw fish just yet!

They are situated in the base of a sister restaurant, so from the main entrance the only give away is the neon "shhh" sign that sits over the stairway. Once at the base of the stairs an unassuming bookcase/shelf appears. This honestly got us, as we had no clue this was the entrance at first. We wandered around and into the bathrooms expecting some cool bathroom stall entrance. It wasn't until someone came out from behind the bookcase that we figured it out! We did let the "door" close and played with the art on the wall, including the bronze pig head, which turned out to be the hidden lever! Legit already wowed before entering! Upon entry, you are legit transported into a small speakeasy with a few high tops, a cozy bar and a small dining room beyond the second archway. The walls are stone, the lighting is dim and moody, the woods are heavy, and the vibes are immaculate! We sampled a few house-made cocktails, got an appetizer and a few main dishes. Spent a total of close to 2 hours, which is standard and actually timed. Which makes sense and I like, it keeps things moving, on time and allows plenty of time to soak it all in! The Jolly Roger and Espresso Martini were my cocktails for the night. There was a clear theme with both, as stout and espresso were highlights in both. For the app, we went with the fritto misto, which is a combination of fried cheese and veggies. Our mains were both pasta dishes. They were light and simple, yet complex and robust. They were tasty and impressive! Service was stellar from entry to exit. The host's, bartenders and our server were all top notch, friendly, helpful and a joy to interact with! Oh, I do highly recommend reservations! They are a small and very in demand spot, so trying to walk-in is a bit risky. Overall, we absolutely loved our evening at The Blind Pig! It was one of our best times and meals on our trip around Ireland...memorable for all the right reasons!

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

Out of curiosity, we checked out the 9 Below Open Table, & saw that there was availability in just over an hour. We decided to book 2 spots & wait it out. When we returned, the host remembered us & remembered that we prefer to sit at the bar. They showed us to our reserved spots - at the bar! We first admired the interior. Underground! Somehow low-lit, archaic, well-lit, & modern, all at the same time. Lively but not noisy pop music was playing - Dua Lipa, etc. The actual physical menu was so cool. It was a beautifully designed picture-book inspired menu, with each cocktail having its own separate & artful page. I'm looking back on the menu & I think the drink I ordered was "Fight Club" (Don Julio Blanco, mango, Falernum, camomile, lemon, & sugar) & it was phenomenal. The bartender scorched a hot pepper & carefully placed it on top, which MADE the drink. He also made my partner a Paper Plane with Scotch. Delicious. Speaking of the bartender, he was a real champion. Such a nice guy with a bit of flair to his style of bartending. We really enjoyed chit chatting with him. It also seemed like the staff really vibed with each other & everyone was having a good time. Great atmosphere. The next time we're back in Dublin we will definitely be back to 9 Below Bar.
