Some are familiar favorites, while others are unusual enough to make you wonder who came up with them! The soda selection and gift shop make it a fun place to browse, take photos, and pick up a few Route 66 souvenirs. Where Pops fell short for us was the restaurant. There wasn't nearly enough seating for the number of people wanting to eat, we waited a long time for our food, and unfortunately the meal itself was mediocre at best. With the higher prices, the food simply didn't feel worth the wait or cost. I'd definitely stop at Pops again--but next time I'd skip the restaurant. Come for the unique architecture, giant soda bottle, fun gift shop, and incredible selection of sodas. Grab a few interesting bottles for the road and continue your Route 66 adventure!

They charge that 18$ for the house cut now....which we ordered and it was just not as good and tender as the tenderloin. We were told by the waitress that their comparable steak was the filet... but it was $34 ...And it was the daily special for the night... so it won't be available all the time. I can go to Longhorn Steakhouse and get the Flo filet for $21.79 and save 12$ a steak. I am disappointed in the quality/selection/pricing of their steaks now. The owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the animated character Sally Carrera from the 2006 film Cars. The Cafe is rustic, casual, with a cool fun vibe. The staff is friendly and the service good. The dining area is not large. When we arrived there were a couple of booths and center tables available, but a few minutes later a group of 16 came in and filled the Cafe. We started with fried green tomatoes ($8,25). They were very good. The best I've had at a restrauant. All three of us ordered the chicken fried steak ($14.35), mashed potatoes, cream gravey, and fried Okra. It was very good. The chicken fried steak was just the right size and had substance compared to those that are big on batter and light on meat. The mashed potatoes and cream gravey just right. Loved the fried okra. The meal was scrumdiddlyumptious. The Cafe was not noisy even though they were maxed out busy. The prices are very moderate. It's a fun little Cafe with good food.
