Bought a house in Toms River last winter, a house that had a broke down non functional pool in the back yard. We were going to have it taken down, removed and be done with it but then we decided to look into getting a new one instead of leaving a giant mess of turf in our back yard that I'm too busy to try and fix. My brother in Howell has a really nice pool that he's had for about 8 years now so we asked him where he got his from and he said Y.E.S Contractors. He said a lot of good things about the guys who came and did the work and the pricing seemed good so I decided to give them a call but not before doing a little research. At first I was skeptical because some very old reviews are a bit off putting but after shopping around and dealing with a particularly pushy sales rep over here by me (I will be nice and not mention the business but the rep's name was Dana) I decided it doesn't hurt to just see. I am writing this review because I didn't have awful service. I am writing this review because I was nervous and didn't know what to expect but got the work done I envisioned. I think the guys who do the labor deserve a lot of credit for how hard they work and how efficient they are. They tore down the old pool (THANK YOU LORD, it was a true eyesore), put up our new pool and did a really nice landscaping job around the pool which I thought I was going to have to do myself or get done elsewhere so that was convenient. We had an awful rain storm that set us back a couple days but as soon as the weather permitted they were back over here doing work. Everything I wanted they did. I didn't have a straight forward idea for how I wanted the fence and decking to be around the pool because I am not very creative but I talked out some ideas and got a few designs until one just felt like it was made to be mine. I have to say that I don't know what happened back in the day, maybe staff has changed but the guy who came to do my estimate, Bill, he was just great, super friendly and very knowledgeable and the crew who came to do my work was fantastic so that makes 2 of us in my family that had the same good experience with getting our pools set up by this company. Doesn't hurt to feel things out for yourself. This is the 2nd summer I will be enjoying my own pool instead of bumming off my brother lol. read more

If you want an above ground pool this summer, DO NOT USE YES Contractors. They install subpar products that do not even last one season. If I could have left negative stars I would have. My pool liner was ripped after one year and even after replacing the liner after the first season, the pool had holes in the liner and metal pool wall after the 4th season. An above ground pool should last for more than 4 years. When I contacted them about the damaged pool, they ghosted me and would not return my calls, texts or emails. I am now stuck with a big metal unusable mess in my backyard. If this is the experience you are looking for, than by all means this is the pool company for you. If you want a pool for more than 4 years, find a different company. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience with YES contractors from start to finish. We had a biodesign pool installed along with landscaping our backyard and the final product was nothing short of amazing. Chris was with us from start to finish, from design to permitting to ground breaking, and throughout construction. Great communication, quality work, and resolved all of punchlist concerns, big and small. We stayed on budget, with no overages or surprises, and were able to add on optional upgrades throughout the project. The crew was great. Polite, personable, and hardworking, again with quality craftsmanship. Cosme, Junior, Clay, Matt, Jeremy were all a pleasure to work with. The project started late summer and finished in the fall, giving us time to enjoy the pool and backyard before the season ended. YES Contractors are deceptive, unreliable, and unprofessional. I hired them to completely upgrade my inground pool and replace the filtration system. Once you sign a contract with them, they don't show up for weeks, despite repeated calls to their office. I never knew when someone was going to show up. They didn't come on days they said they would be at my home, then without notice they appeared in my back yard when they were not scheduled to be there. When they did show up, it was for a couple of hours, and with an insufficient number of workers to get much of anything done. At one point, when digging a trench in my yard, they tore an existing electrical line. Instead of replacing it for free, Chris, the owner of the company said he would fix it for $2,200. I declined. I was then approached by his electrician who said he would fix it on the side for much less. I had him do that work. When Chris realized that the line had been repaired, he accused me of asking his employee to violate his terms of employment. He was rude and insulting to me, and said he would be firing this employee because of MY deception. Gee, I thought in this country I had the right to hire whomever I chose, without being verbally assaulted. Lastly, I signed a supplemental contract for them to close my pool and install new anchors for the pool cover. I paid a 50% deposit up front, and then waited for over 2 weeks to even find out when I would be put on their schedule. At this point, it was mid-December, and a winter storm was forecasted. At that point I told them to cancel this service and give me a refund. They refused, because their contract said I must cancel within 3 days of SIGNING the contract in order to get my deposit back. This is incredibly deceptive, as they did not tell me when I signed the contract, that it would be 3 weeks or more before the work would be performed. I called Ricky Revel, of Warrior pools, who came to my home that day. He spent the next 3 days re- cleaning the water and draining the filtration system, which YES had done in a slip-shod incomplete manner. He then installed the anchors and closed and covered my pool. We hired Y.E.S contracting to install our pool in May of 2020 on a friends recommendation. Knowing the high demand and restrictions in general due to COVID we had no expectations of using the pool until 2021. However we did not expect to be left by Y.E.S with a pool that was installed poorly and have to hire someone else to fix what they did wrong. First, once our pool came in finally Y.E.S was right on top of getting a crew for the install, I'll give them that one. Like I saw on other reviews we also observed the crew go behind our shed to urinate. Second, we had several issues with improper installation by the initial crew. We discovered a leaking valve which wasn't major, however we quickly discovered that the skimmer box literally will EXPLODE water out of it every time the pump turns off. The solution from the crew that came out to fix it was to put rocks in the skimmer basket.... We were told the owner would come out (which he never did) to figure out the issue. Having to place ROCKS in my brand new pools skimmer basket is completely RIDICULOUS! Third, we discovered sand all over the bottom of the pool after a few days. At first we weren't sure what to think of it, until we saw the sand blowing out of the return jet when the pump started running for the day. They told us it was a broken lateral and to get a replacement part and they will come fix it. After a back and forth with the manufacturer Y.E.S was coming out to diagnose the issue. The office told me if the crew finds a broken part then we pay $150 for service and additional fee when they come make the repairs, but if it was an error on the installers' part we owed nothing. As it turns out the ZEO sand was installed improperly causing the issue, the crew member who came out (original installer) admitted to me that he had never worked with ZEO sand before and installed it wrong and didn't find a broken part. Even the girl from the office admitted to me on the phone that they don't really use ZEO sand and aren't familiar with it. The office still expected us to pay the $150 even though it was clearly their mistake. When I challenged them with the fact their own guy said it was his error and that the filter box EXPLODING water still wasn't fixed, she told me they would have the owner call (again that never happened). This was the last time we heard from them. Fourth, they notified the town to come out for final inspection, which it failed and the inspector told me the installer should've known it wasn't ready. The town will be coming back in 2021 once the install is completely finished. The constant is that the office never has any answers. They always say the owner will call or come out and he doesn't. The crews seem limited in their abilities and knowledge. We finally hired an acquaintance to clean the sand of the bottom and close the pool. We had to make this decision because it was November, I fractured my leg and we were getting no where with Y.E.S. 2021 we will be forced to hire someone to come out and complete the job properly at additional cost to us. BUYER BEWARE- Update 3/12. We received a first notice "final notice" of money owed out of nowhere. This was our first contact with YES since November! This came just weeks after I left negative reviews on google. The best part is the date of the fictional first bill was 10/2. We made 2 payments to them after that date when services were rendered. So the timeline doesn't even make sense in this sham. read more

Opinion: Avoid at all cost. They try to hide everything in the contract, and will very likely refuse to return the deposit even though no work was done on either side. Very poor experience. They request 50% up front, that's a pretty big red flag. I will not make this mistake twice. ~33% is the usual contracting ask, sometimes more for supplies but they weren't buying more than 10% of this job's cost. read more

I am really upset and frustrated with the service I've got from Y.E.S. contractors. I ordered the pool closing service. We have a mesh pool cover (3 years old) stored in the mesh bag. It's heavy and has to be carried by more than 2 people, but I noticed their young employee dragging it on the ground by himself. After they left, I noticed 2 holes in my pool cover and in the bag. I called the Y.E.S. contractors and described the situation, and they immediately blamed insects without any explanation. They even refused to come out and look at the holes. I will never recommend my friends to order a service from this company because the company does not care about its reputation and customer satisfaction. read more

Y.E.S. contractors just replaced the liner in our above ground pool that is over 25 years old. We thought we would have to trash the pool. Due to a leak it was left open all winter and had about a foot of green water. The crew arrived and quickly started pumping the water and quickly told us the pool walls were fine and the new liner could be installed. The crew worked nonstop from 9am to 2pm. The pool looks great. Hard to find a company to replace the liner in an above ground pool. Highly recommend Y.E.S. Contractors. Happy customer. read more

I've been trying to get a bulb replacement for the NIGHTIME DECOR fixture that was installed by YES Contractors. It is under warranty. After spending an hour with Chris and associate at my house going over what we would like in a pool we never received the estimate. Wasted our time. I even called to follow up because I couldn't believe that they would come out and never send over an estimate for the pool. The woman in office confirmed in a surprised tone that no estimate was on file and would have Chris call me which never happened. So very unprofessional. Beginning of July changed to the end of July. That changed to august. Still waiting for them to complete the job now we are in September. They always make excuses and have poor Communication. I gave this 2 stars because the field employees are very nice! The office ladies are as professional as they could be, but pretty difficult when everyone in the office passes the buck, honestly is lost, so for me, professionalism is fake and you feel it! Bill (who I believe is the owner, or one of) was extremely rude! Bill, this is for you: 1. The customer is always right 2. Before you blame the customer, get all the facts. 3. When you challenge the customer without the facts THEN you apologize! 4. Never yell at a customer! Long story short, my pool installation failed inspections multiple times, I was actually not concerned as we were installing end of summer so there was no rush to use the pool. Each time we failed, the blame game began! Continuously and each time I would send them pictures of the FAILED inspection ticket! Never once was any of the failing's out fault. Which is preposterous to say because WE hired YOU! Yes, was each time in the end it was corrected. But the roller coaster to get there, each time, made for a stressful experience during a time when all should have been smooth, had they not played the game. They are also very quick to refer to the payment schedule (which we complied with) but not so quick to follow the work schedule. So in the end they owe you, whether it be work already paid for, or a refund for my LED light that never got put in. But in fairness when they were reminded about it, they offered to put it in at the same time they were scheduled to close The pool. Unfortunately by that time, just this last week, I was so done with them, I opted for a refund of the LED light (they forgot about) and canceled my scheduled pool closing as I just needed to be done with this company! I was told it would take 10 business days... Today is day 3! If you like stress - Then they are your company! P.S. DO NOT USE this company they are scammers! I received my quote for my above ground install. I paid my deposit to get my install date. emails went back-and-forth about excavation. Nobody from Yes contractors came to my house to inspect the site, they had me email pictures of the site. I originally had a pool that was 21 round and I was installing another pool that was 21 round. The only excavating that had to be done was a little bit of leveling with sand. The crew showed up with no excavator, to do the leveling they decided to do it by hand. The quote that was given to me, excavating was included up to 3 inches anything above and beyond 3 inches would have to be paid directly to the Escavating crew apparently another subcontractor. When the crew showed up they asked for a check for the remaining balance before they started I paid them the amount that was asked for an agreed on. During the installation they approached me and asked me if I wanted a weed barrier they explained to me the benefits of the weed barrier added protection they said. The foreman of the crew then told me it would be $173 for the weed barrier and install. I paid him the amount that was agreed on. Later I received the bill for $110 they claim that I never paid for the weed barrier material. I spoke with there book keeper and that didn't go well. The book keeper hung up on me and then called me back later only to tell me that I now owe them 290 for the excavation. The pool was installed in June of 2022 now their asking for 290 in December 2022. Ps they also told me they would come back to install the filter and skimmer box after the pool was filled so the liner could stretch. The date they gave me was another two weeks before they could come back. I installed the pool filter myself and the skimmer box to complete the install. read more

Attn: Chris Risden What a horrible horrible experience we experienced with your company!! We purchased a pool in December, your company was recommended to install our pool. It was scheduled at the end of May, the installers came out (very pleasant and professional) . 2 days later after we began filling the pool, the water level kept was going down and the ground in one side of pool was wet. We called and spoke to Rebecca and told her what was going on, she spoke with Jeremy (both totally unprofessional employees). He said put tape on the water level and monitor it. We did this for a few days with the water going down. Jeremy did not even have the decency to come look at it, which is what Rebecca said would happen. Jeremy said that it is not significant enough that WE would have to hire a company to come out and find the leak which WE would have to pay $500.00 and once they found the leak they would patch it. So we pay 6000.00 for a brand new pool. And we end up with a patched liner???? But we did call the company and they said they were backed up for a month. Which would bring us to the end of June! With absolutely no help from Rebecca or Jeremy or anybody in your company, we proceeded to fill the pool. After it was full it took another week for them to come back out and install the filter. (Water level still going down) and nobody in your company would do anything). Two days after the filter was installed, we called back because the filter was leaking. It took another week for somebody to come out, only to find out the filter was installed incorrectly. John (who came out to fix it) was very very professional and fixed the leak. With customer service being such a high priority, your company failed miserably at it. To date, the pool still has a slow leak and nobody will stand by their product or the service they performed. I work in customer service and was a manager, if my employees ever treated customers the way your office staff treated us, they would no longer we working for me!! Initially our job was supposed to be a liner replacement and ended up being a whole new pool - not their fault and not known until we went to change the liner. However, if you want each step of the installation process canceled every time something needs to be done and rescheduled more then a week later, they are great (insert sarcasm). Our pool was supposed to be done by Memorial Day - we started this in March/April. We get this might not have been precisely on this date. Suffice it to say, it just got done this first/second week of August. I had to call repeatedly to ensure they would at least show up at some point because many of the cancellations were last minute and after we had already planned our schedules around this. Their only reason was always the same and merely "it's the nature of the pool business...cancellations happen all the time". I asked to speak to a manager of some kind after our umpteenth cancellation and reschedule, i.e. who does one address with customer services concerns. My issues were allegedly elevated to "Jeremy" who was going to call me back at least twice and over two weeks ago. I'm still waiting. We are new to the area and spotted one of YES's pool trucks at a neighbors house. We wanted to have an above ground pool installed in our backyard so we gave YES a call and within 3 days they had someone on my property to give me an estimate. Once we decided on a pool they made the process so easy on us, and even filled out all the permits. The next couple of weeks were a total whirlwind of people in and out of our backyard but at the end our pool looked beautiful! Better than I could have imagined. Oh where to begin on this one. First of all, I have to say I'm not one to write reviews unless something is exceptionally great or exceptionally terrible. Unfortunately, YES contractors is exceptionally terrible. I have been a loyal customer of theirs for about three years now and they just lost me over $75. But of course, it is more the principle of this than the dollar figure. I'm a pretty reasonable person usually and I understand that if I had left over a foot of water and a ton of leaves on the cover of the pool, that they would be charging me the $75 to pump it. So I had a friend (who works for another pool company and who I should've initially went with anyway)....come and pump it the night before YES was supposed to come and open my pool. He got it down to about an inch (or less) of water and a few leaves, here and there.....completely normal for a pool opening after a winter (gravity and weather tends to leave some debris and water on the cover). For almost $200 after tax, you would think that pulling a pool cover off with two grown men wouldn't be a problem for a pool company. My friend was going to do it himself but since I had prepaid YES, I told him don't worry about it. So YES gets to my house this am and calls me up to say they will have to charge me to pump it....and that the cover was supposed to be 'bone dry.' That is literally what they told me on the phone..... 'bone dry.' So let me get this straight....I am paying the company close to $200 and I have to do the hard part of the job, which is COMPLETELY CLEARING the cover? I already had the hard part done for them by having the majority of it pumped off and scooped. The bottom line is they just wanted to charge extra. I even called around to 3 different pool companies after this whole thing and they said that was 'part of the opening' unless it is more than a foot of water' So now she tells me that since it wasn't scheduled as a pumping, I would need to reschedule it and they don't have any openings until after 4th of july weekend. So half the summer gone and the ONE holiday of the summer and I can just look at my pool.....i was sure there had to be other options.....Then on top of that she proceeds to tell me that other things they charge extra for..... including if the pool cover falls into the pool while THEY are opening it. Because, that makes sense.....anyone with a brain would do that purposely in order to make extra money. But why would the customer have to pay because the service guys dropped the cover into the pool? So I clarify with her that NOT ONLY is my cover supposed to be bone dry (which means I might as well open my pool myself because that is the hardest part) AND if they drop the cover in, i have to pay for that? Some verbal sparring went on for a bit because I stated that this was no way to run a business and that I have been a loyal customer of theirs for three years including having them put together my pool table....so was she willing to lose a customer over $75? Now, I get it, when you work in a customer service position, you don't want people preaching to you about customer service...however, i think that after you have had customer service experience and are held to a higher standard, you do have higher expectations. However, I don't think I am being unreasonable.....Well I guess they were willing to lose my future business and me as a customer....because she then told me "well, i guess you should've hired your friend." I replied, "Well, I am going to give him the money that you are refunding me and I know it will get done right." She then tells me she has to check on how to do a refund and if they can do it since I prepaid a month ago. I told her to call me back when she could tell me when it would be refunded. She calls back a few minutes later and says the owner won't refund it but will only reschedule it. She then continues to argue with me about knowing it needed to be pumped. This went on for a few more minutes at which point i just said, "I no longer trust you or your company and even if it were to be done for free, i wouldn't have you guys on my property." I then tell her that she needs to have the owner call me and she argues and says there is nothing he can do that she can't....I said, well he is the OWNER, correct? I'm sure he has some pull and can do something. So have him call me because if I don't get my refund I will be filing a claim in small claims court and trust me I will, simply out of principle at this point because this is no way to do business." I then proceeded to educate her not he process of chargebacks and that we never had a contract so that I was due a refund. She then of course, sarcastically says she will have him call me and to have a nice day. I called the bank and had the charge reversed and am still waiting for the owner to call me. read more

I am in the process of waiting for my semi inground above ground pool to be installed by Y.E.S (they've had 1/2 the $ for three mos)....the pool is in, but I have been waiting two weeks for the electrician to come and hook up the filter and pump...they threw 320 lbs of salt into a pool with a half foot of water in it and that's where it's been for two weeks....salt will eat up a liner, any kid knows that...they do not call you in advance when they are coming, you might get a call when they are leaving the office....the owner was supposed to show up y'day to install a light, he called to say he was coming and never showed up!...absolutely a very poorly managed company! read more

On or around 7/24 YES came over and were suppose to open the pool and set up the filter. I paid over the phone using credit card which they charged me an extra fee for doing. Then they came set up the pool and left. they left no other instruction or issues. We filled up the rest of our pool and started the filter and it was leaking. My husband and I called on 7/24 and spoke with the women in the office and told her that the filter was leaking and she gave me a cell number to send pictures which I did. At that point she said she would have her crew look at it and call me back the next day. No phone call nothing. My husband left another message an no call. on 7/28 at 6:34 left message that pool was not working and please call back. 7/30,7/31, 8/1 twice. On 7/31 Spoke to a woman who said she was so sorry and she would have someone call me back and again no one called. Today I spoke to the girl in the office and she when on to tell me that "we didn't have the "O" ring and that now I will have to buy and pay for a service call" I explained to her that at the type of the opening NO one said that we didn't have all the equipment and in all the phone calls not one person told me that we were missing this and why would the company put the filter together if it was missing a part and not leave me message or something???
