At 12:10 Mahmoud arrived at my door. Very presentable and professional. Basically spent over an hour with our dryer examining everything, taking it apart, and determined that the drive motor was at fault (8 yr old unit). It's too bad these "modern" units don't last decades like the ones we grew up with, but that's a different issue. Mahmoud informed us of the estimate to fix, and basically it's about as much as a new unit. So I went onto Costco.com and bought a new dryer. Mahmoud charged the $65 inspection fee, and I believe it was worth every bit, especially since he spent probably 90 minutes of his time here. Art with Art Appliances replaced parts on our Viking range convection oven, broiler unit…read more Art was polite and quick to respond to our initial call to him. He was on time for the initial assement visit and for the actual repair visit. He completed the repair within a 1/2 hr. On his initial assessment visit he needed to order parts, then sent us a quote. After our approval, he then ordered the parts and received those part within 2 days and he was able to come back to install the parts within 2 days of the intial visit. His work was done exactingly, he kept the work area clean and clean when he left. Thecrepairs were all completed promptly, within less than a 1/2 hr. He replaced 3 igniters and 2 burners, plus, as he was installing one of the new Viking manufactured parts, he discovered something which was done incorrect on the previous repair done by different repair company co. and he explained what had been done incorrect and that it previously hadn't been a true Viking part & that part had been installed incorrectly. Art uses Viking manufactued parts for the repairs on Vikings stoves which he works on. It's important on these high-end appliances to use only the true Viking manufactuer's parts for replacements on Vikings and on other high-end brands to use those specific brand parts, not generic brands. It's expensive, but worth it in the long run, for the longevity of the appliance. Art also works on high-end refrigerators, such as the GE Monogram, which we also have in our kitchen. We will ask him to do repairs on this refrigerator, as well, should we need future repairs to be done. The first one was clear cut and with no complications. He checked the error coded stored in the controller to verify the problem, and replaced broken part. The second time, a different person recommended replacing a number of parts (and ultimately saying it wasn't worth fixing because it would cost well over $1000 with labor), without ever checking the error code. I eventually watched some youtube videos, downloaded the service manual, made the diagnosis myself, ordered the part, and installed it. It cost about $55.
